I unfortunately found Starks by attending a very sad occasion a dear friend passed away and his service was here. His service was beautiful, detail oriented everything perfect. I immediately made an appointment for preplanning services for my father. They were wonderful! Having been completely unprepared with the sudden death of my mother, we had her celebration of life at my home she was cremated and the creamatorium didnt have a very large or decorated service area, for $1000 for 3 hours and an additional $1000 for every additional hour do everything ourselves (no food please) So we had the service at my home (it went on for five or so hours)It was nice (what I remember) I was hosting and working instead of mourning my mom. That all being said, I never wanted to be in that position again. Everyone at Stark was so amazing, I am very confident when the time comes my family and I will be able to mourn and not deal with all the extra stress. I wish I had known about them 2 years ago.

I was referred to Starks Funeral Parlor from a family member for my mother in laws funeral. Prior to her passing I had never delt with any funeral arrangement services and didnt know where, or even how to start. Starks took care of me and my family through the whole process. From the first call to even days after the funeral when I had a few questions, they took care of us. Everyone we spoke with did their best to make such a hard and sensitive time not as stressful for us. They were great about communicating with me and answering my calls, text messages and emails in a timely manner. If it wasnt for them I dont think I would feel this prepared or positive about going through this process again. Definitely happy we found them when we did.

Just got back from a "celebration of life" for a strong, loving, beautiful friend who left us so suddenly and too soon. Even though my heart is still breaking, this difficult time was made better by the love of friends and the incredible staff of Starks Funeral Parlor. This place was a new and wonderful way to say good bye and celebrate someones life. It was lovely, bright and welcoming, not stuffy or depressing. Everyone ate, drank, watched the video of pictures and talked just like Cheryl was there with us. The staff at Starks was absolutely incredible. If you ever have the unfortunate situation I highly recommend making it a celebration of life at Starks.

I feel badly that it took me so long to write a review on Starks Funeral Parlor. I am so grateful to them for the caring service they provided to our family when my beloved Grandson was suddenly taken from us 6mths ago. They really went the extra mile to accommodate our wishes. It seemed their most common answer was, "Whatever you would like." Its more than that, though. There were so many things that they did that they didnt have to do, some tasks seemed impossible, as there were only 3 days to prepare. I dont know how to explain my gratitude except that I will never forget the Starks. Thank you.

Our entire experience with the Starks Funeral Parlor, its owners, and staff was nothing short of incredible. Shayneh and the staff have professionalism that is forwarded with extreme care and tenderness for us, the family who is dealing with a lost loved one. We are so thankful for the experience they created for us, the celebration of life, as they called it, for our lost family member. And even more thankful for the way we felt as though they were holding our hands through the entire thing, start to finish, day after day. I cant even explain in words how wonderful this place and its people are. We had my brothers celebration of life there on Monday and it was the most beautiful and special service. They took care of everything very smoothly, they were extremely patient and supportive with us through our emotional and confusing time. By the end of everything it was almost like they were family, too. Thank you all at Starks so much! Losing him has been the hardest thing my family has been through, and you all took amazing care of us, and him.

My first introduction to Starks was for my mothers funeral. Every single person we worked with at Starks was phenomenal. They took care of all the tiny details that we would have overseen, while trying to cope with the loss of our mother. Our mother had the most amazing tribute that it brought tears to all our eyes when we walked in for her viewing/life celebration. The service that Starks provides cannot be found anywhere else; Ive experienced other places and there is no comparison to Starks.

My father passed away unexpectedly, and I wasnt remotely prepared to decide on any kind of funeral service. I had been to some services at Starks in the past, and while I really liked the concept of what they do, but I was worried about the price. Turns out theyre actually quite reasonable, and very willing to work with us. I felt like they genuinely cared about our grief. It was a wonderful way to say goodbye to my dad. I think their model will some day replace the traditional ceremony.

The Starks family sees itself as offering a ministry of service to grieving families rather than a business to maximize profits. I have sent many people to the Starks because I know they will be treated fairly. Jason and Shayneh Starks strive to make looking after the departed an art rooted in a deep respect for human dignity.
