I did not have a good experience at this salon. When I made my appointment I said I wanted a Black and pink balayage/ombré the reseptionest asked me what appointment time would work best for me and we made an appointment no questions asked. I believe this is where the problems began. When I showed up to my appointment I was greeted very nicely by my stylist and I sat down in the chair. I explained to her that I wanted a black melting into very light pink ombré I explained that I DID NOT want a neon pink or a bright pink at all! My stylist was hesitant and went to grab another stylist. I proceeded to explain to this second stylist what I wanted and showed them both pictures. They explained that all they had was neon pink, which annoyed me because when I made my appointment they did not ask me what shade of pink I wanted therefore they didnt have it, but they stylists reassuringly said they would simply put black in the pink dye to tone it down and make it more ashy, no problem they could do this color. This seemed logical to me at the time so she lightened my hair and we began the process. The second red flag hit me when she brought back the dye that she had formulated in the back. The colors were purple, light purple, and black. She began by putting the black on my roots first and explained that when she washed my hair out the black hair dye would also tone out the pink as it washed down it. I was sitting in the chair when she started adding the "PINK"...it was purple. Other stylist that had heard what I wanted began to walk past and say "wow that looks really purple" and my stylist would explain. That it would wash out and be pink when it was finished. At least 3 other stylists walked past and said it was purple and the same trend continued. Another red flag was that when she was done applying the color she told me, "this color line is not supposed to go under the dryer but Im just going to put you under for about 20 minutes".......when she started to wash my hair and all the other stylists where all huddling around me telling me how good it looked. Imagine my unpleasant surprise when I look into the mirror and my hair is BLUE! I was so disappointed. She started drying it and still all the other stylists we passing by and saying how great it looked and I started to feel better because they were telling me how great it looked. At the end of the blow dry they had me convinced that this color was what I wanted at that it was so pretty. THIS COLOR IS NOT WHAT I WANTED AND IT IS NOT PRETTY!!! my color is not evenly distributed, it is splotchy, it still has brown from my original hair color, there are big chunks of random shades of color and there is a straight line of black through the side part of my hair. This looks awful and I am so disappointed. I left the apartment with a "I like it" because the stylists had convinced me it was great. The stylist escorted me to the register where I payed 150$ (with 15% tip) for this horribly done color that I did not want......I am very embarrassed to go ask for a refund or to have them fix it because I left convinced that I liked it. I feel that there is no way that they could fix this hair dye that would make me happy or at ease without relighting and ruining my hair. I later found out that my hair was being dyed by a "hair extension specialist" and I feel that she did not know what she was doing when it came to color. I will be returning to this salon to give them an opportunity to make it right and we will see how things play out.

I would like to start out by saying my wife has been to this Salon several times in the past couple years with pretty enjoyable experiences before last week. I even went with, one time and was happy with the service. Last week she went back to get a service re-done. Nobody had messed up the first time; just wasnt completely satisfied. When she got there she thought everything was fine at first, until the Owner herself started demanding how and what the girls should be doing. When the girl took her back to wash her hair she scrubbed so hard it hurt and she used cold water. Isnt the shampooing supposed to be one of the relaxing things of going to the salon? When they got back to the station, the owner started whipping her hair all over and saying it didnt look like anything needed to be redone, but they would do it if thats what she wanted. She should have left at this point, but thought things would get better. She was wrong. As two girls started to get to work, the owner came over, made them take it out and started showing them how it should be done. This isnt Cosmetology class anymore is it? When she asked if things could be done a certain way-she was told that it was old fashion, no salon would do that and maybe her friend who had recommended the certain way should do it for her instead. They used a harsher product than last time, just so it would go quicker for them. She literally came home with a headache and a bruised ear (from them jabbing the comb into her ear so hard.) Her hair looks nice enough-even though they over charged her from what they quoted her. Thats not the point here. The point is how unprofessional, and down right rude they treated her! Shouldnt the "Salon Experience" be something that leaves you better-not worse, than when you walked through their doors!

I went to Amber Renee salon to have 19 inches cut off my hair, so I could donate it to locks of love, and have it permed. I should have known that when i said "I had a cupon" and then Jess K (my hairstylists) reply back with the "prices that was quoted for my perm was wrong and that it would be more money because of the length of my hair. I just cut off 19 inches. It made my hair length not even touch my shoulders. I SO SHOULD HAVE LEFT RIGHT THEN, but I payed the extra, and got the worst perm of my life. I asked for a medium curl and got a body wave at best. Not to mention the sores that I had got from the cotton that was left on through the whole process. When I went in to talk with them (Jess and the owner Amber) they SEEMED willing to fix it, but we had to wait a few weeks for my open wonds to completely go away. When I return they were only willing to reperm the top 3 to 5 rods and would only redue the whole perm if I payed more money. First of all you never just redue a portion of a perm, You will ruin/undo what you didnt wrap. Secondly would have two different curl sizes(a medium sized curl in a small portion on the top of my head and then a very loose wave curl every were else). No thank you. Talk about making things worse NOT BETTER.

I have been going to Amber Rene Salon since it opened & have always loved the experience! I was really excited when they expanded & opened up the boutique. When you visit the salon, take a look at all the cute stuff they have. If I buy something - I know Ill be fashionable & its also reasonably priced! Ive had my hair done by the same person for 21 years and have followed her each time she changed salons. By far, this is the best salon shes been affilitated with! A few stylists, including the owner have filled in to cut or color my hair when necessary & theyve all done a fantastic job. These guys know what theyre doing and are always up on all the new styles & trends. Take an extra hour for yourself & get a massage or a facial!! Ive had both and they were incredible, youll walk out of there feeling wonderful. The only service I havent tried out is a pedicure!! Im sooooo looking forward to it next week!! Keep up the great work Ladies!!
