After being referred to this salon by a friend, I called earlier on in the day to make sure they accepted walk-ins for nails and asked how much it would cost for full acrylic sets. I was told $35, which excited me because I thought I was going to a nicer salon and getting a really good deal. I went with my friend after work to the salon and walked in. The girl at reception looked surprised and perplexed that we were there and I had to explain to her that we were walk-ins for nails and that we wanted full acrylic sets. She then told us that the next available time was at later on, and for a minute I thought we would have to leave, but she then quickly shuffled us to the waiting area. I was glad that they got us in so quickly, but after we walked back to the nail area I realized that my friend was going to have to wait for me to finish before she was going to get serviced. This was acceptable because we had time to gab and catch up, except that halfway through my nails being finished the girl that was doing my nails looked over to her fellow nail specialist and asked if she would start on my friend. To which the second nail technician responded that she didn’t want to and when the first girl asked why, the second girl complained of a “headache”. I honestly thought that the my nail technician was trying to get my friend in faster, until the two nail technicians stepped away for a brief moment and my friend informed me that she would not be getting her nails done today because she wasn’t going to spend her hard-earned money on someone that didn’t want to do her nails. She felt angry that they had argued right in front of her about who would do her nails, neither one of them wanting to. When my nails were finished we made our excuses and headed for the door, lead by my nail technician. I saw my technician whisper something so the receptionist, then the receptionist turned to me and informed me that my manicure was $45, ten dollars more than what I was originally told. Now, I think this may be because I got ‘gel’ nails instead of ‘acrylic’ (I don’t get my nails done very often, so I’m a little naive about this stuff), but I specifically asked if there was a price difference and was told no. Maybe my nail technician didn’t know that I had already asked about the price. Maybe I’m wrong, but needless to say neither my friend nor I will ever go to this salon again, nor will any of our friends. They have lost a good handful of customers probably for life. Bravo.

I started going to Studio h2o Salon in 2007. At first I was really nervous because prior to this salon, I had gone to a lady who turned my hair multi colors-it looked pink when pulled back, red going on purple when I was down indoors and outdoors it looked fiery red when all I wanted was a brown with hints of red so I had to have them re-do it 2 days later. When I walked in, I was greeted very kindly, they took my coat, sat me down, and offered me something to drink. The stylist who did my hair was Lynne. She was very kind and very attentive. I told her an idea of what I wanted and she rolled with it and I ended up with an awesome cut and color! after that I went with her every 6 weeks for about 2 years. Each time for a new style and color and each time I walked out SUPER confident and happy with the results! They are a bit on the pricier side so for a while I couldnt go as often and tried SEVERAL CHEAPER places around and each time I ended up having to spend double because the Cheaper place messed up and Lynne had to fix it! Its been 7 years and I have yet to find a stylist that can do what Lynne can... take a ballpark idea that you give her and give you something new and fresh EVERY TIME! I am now back in the position where I can be a regular again and I will GLADLY drive 3 HOURS from my home in Vernal to get my hair done with her again because I know without a doubt that when I walk out of there I am going to LOVE EVERYTHING about my hair!!!!!!! Pricey: YES Worth the money: HELL YES!

This was my first time at this salon and ultimately will be my last. My experience was far less than stellar. I will say they were gracious in accommodating me last minute, on Easter. When I called I was told that they had availability for a pedicure and that I could come right then. I was there within 20 minutes and a nice gal called Mee, took me back. She was nice, although very hard to understand. There was a language barrier which caused confusion on the actual amount I was going to pay. I proceeded with the basic pedicure with shellac. I know sometimes pedicurists can make mistakes but this poor girl was rushed as it seemed she was the only person available to do pedicures. She cut my toe, which bled quite a bit, then put some blue stuff on it to stop the bleeding, (burned like crazy) I was burned with the rocks that are way too hot for skin contact, she dropped her box of instruments on the floor and then dropped her entire case of rhinestones. I paid nearly $70.00 to be hurried out so another person could be helped. I am dissatisfied with my experience all around. When I went to check out, the gal said "Oh, just a pedicure, that will be $60.00." I kindly asked her to explain to me what I was paying for, which she did. But, I was not asked how my visit was. Just asked to pay the outrageous amount for a pedicure that was more painful than relaxing. Not to mention, I will have to have this polish removed and redone as she missed quite a few spots on my nails. Live and learn.

Heading home from Denver last week, the convenient location of Studio h2o at the Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City coupled with the well-reputation of stylist Shelle lured my family in for a couple hour detour. It was worth our travel delay. Both my young daughters who have displayed salon-phobia in times past were excited about sitting in Shelles chair. Both received careful attention that resulted in trims and cuts that put a smile on everyones face. Then I had a turn in the chair under the touch of the masters hand. I have visited Shelle in several salons in different states over the years and of a truth, this girl just keeps getting better and better. I didnt have time for her to do a color this trip, so a cut had to satiate my appetite for hair mastery. What I love about Shelle is her ability to help determine what I want while maintaining the expertise to know what will or wont work with my hair type, my face shape, my level of dedication to styling, and time, etc. She is a master of her craft and sitting in her chair is a pleasure that distance prevents me from enjoying more often. However, anytime Im in the area, I will make time to have her dress my tresses. And when Im away, Ill be wishing I could sit in her chair sooner, rather than later.
