I previously wrote a review a couple years ago giving these guys a great rating. I used to go to the Sugarhouse location and they were professional and polite, which made me overlook their slow service. Since Ive moved to Sandy and been going to the Sandy location frequently, I can determine without question that these guys are a bunch of crooks. I have felt taken advantage of them twice in the past year and then last weekend was the final straw. After paying them 3 times to fix my A/C system and having it not fixed, which they kept determining was not their fault because the leak was just too small, they finally got me. They determined that the compressor needed to be replaced and that it would cost $440. I was not pleased but approved the repair. Then, after my engine was torn apart mid-repair, they called me and, without admitting ANY fault, they told me they ordered the wrong part and that the right part would actually be $635. I lost my cool. I told them over the phone to just put my car back together and I would come pick it up. I felt totally jerked around for their mistake and didnt want to give them a dime more. They told me that they couldnt just put my car back together because they had broken the old compressor when they were taking it out (somehow they were convinced this was still not their fault.) Basically, I had no choice to pay the $200 more than I had previously approved (not to mention the $175 I paid them 3 times in the past to fix the damned thing.) It amounted to extortion and it should be illegal for them to do that. Anyway, if you do decide to go to Burt Brothers in Sandy, I highly recommend avoiding the guy named Griff. He was unprofessional, unhelpful, and is a total blame-pusher. I hate him so badly. After my experience, I was fuming and recounted my story to several people, who ALL confirmed that Burt Brothers has a wide reputation of being awful. Ive been referred to Firestone and Big-O by people who have been screwed over by Burt Brothers and are happy with their new car techs.

It was extremely expensive. We took both our Mercedes Benz and our fiat to this store for an oil change each. The Mercedes they didnt do because they had trouble with the plug to drain the oil and wanted us to leave it here overnight for them to do it because they got busy after we already called and told them we were bringing 2 cars and were here before everyone else. If I am here before other customers I expect to be taken care of first. I do not expect to be taken advantage of when 1st they try to get me to pay for more then the oil on both cars and 2nd they decide they wont even take the time to do my mercedes? Because other people are here and they wanna take care of them first. I believe is not only rude but I am very unsatisfied with the service. They took over 30 minutes more then they said they would for 2 cars and they only did ONE of my cars. Horrible service. Very dissatisfied and I will never return here and I would not recommend it to anyone. We came here because they were so highly rated and I do not see why. They told us they had the tools to handle the Mercedes but they prioritized other customers before us even though we were here first. Horrible service.

Ive gone to Burt Brothers twice, only at this location, and both times have been awful. The first time was a problem with my power steering, when it started to leak. They did it in the time I estimated, but come the next morning when I got in my car for work, the power steering was completely empty. So I towed my car to Burt Brothers. They told me it was fixed. Next morning same exact thing. One more tow and this time I was frustrated and knew it wasnt a fluke, just poor service. Now a few months later, I call to see if I can bring it in for safety and emissions. The guy on the phone says no more than an hour, same thing when I get there. Three hours later, they have two problems. One was with the horn, so I ask "whats wrong with the horn" the guy Im talking too just responds " we dont know". Well that makes no sense. Even more laughable is when they tell me that Im just missing parts to my car like they disappeared into thin air. For the two repairs the guy quotes me a little under a grand. Awful service. Awful repairs. Tried to be understanding and forgiving, but it feels more and more like a scam

We have three cars and I take all of them to Burt Brothers in Sandy unless its a warranty repair. They are fast, friendly and extremely helpful. I feel as if their prices are reasonable and their estimates of time and expected cost are very close. I have been there on several occasions when I have heard them come out and talk to other customers and let them know that they had several options for service and that certain items (brakes, tires, etc.) were in better shape than the customer had thought and could go another six months or a year. For me personally, they have saved me money on two large repairs by letting me know that even though my car was no longer under warranty, that these repairs were related to earlier work that was done by the dealership when they were under warranty, and they gave me the information I needed to get the dealership take care of the repairs at no cost to me. Kelly was extremely helpful to me in these situations. So, I feel they are fair and knowledgeable. I have referred my family members there and all have been pleased.

Ive been taking my cars to Sandy Burt Bros for years now. Generally, pleased with the service & pricing. Was not so pleased with my experience today. I went in to have my tires changed from snow to regular. I thought $68 was a little steep for just changing the tires, but okay. Well, before I got home, my car indicator light continued to warn me that the tire pressure was low. I thought it would go off after driving a bit, but didnt so I had to turn around & take it back. The boy that had driven my car across the street & bumped the front end on their driveway skirt returning it to me, was also the person that had done the work on my car. He didnt check to see what the proper tire pressure for my car was. I dont have a problem with hiring young people, but they need to be trained & supervised by experienced staff. Im disappointed.

I have been a long time user of this Burt Brothers. In all my years of coming here I have only had one problem. I showed up to pick up my car and waited for about an hour. My car was done before I even got there so I waited for nothing and was very mad. BUT that being said they have had more then one occasion to take advantage of me and have not. I took my car in for all new brakes, front and rear, cost over 400 dollars. But when I came back the bill was under 100. They said my breaks were fine but my brake fluid was bad and had air in it. After that I will always go there. One side note: when you go in talk to one of the older gentlemen at the front, they seem to get you better help, I am young and I hate to say it but its true. Kelly and Terry do the best job.
