I have a Ford Mustang that when accelerating the vehicle would surge. After speaking with several people, they all told me that it sounds like my catalytic converter was causing my vehicle to not accelerate. So I jumped online and purchased a Magna flow Catalytic converter for my vehicle. On March 28th I called Midas on 3459 Washington Blvd and spoke with Edgar, the Service Manager. Turns out that he is a licensed California SMOG Test/Repair technician. He told me that he would install the Cat for $130.00 + tax, so I decided that I would go ahead. Once we arrived and spoke with Edgar, he asked me the reason for replacing the Catalytic converter. I told him what was happening and what people had to me. He then stated, so did anyone actually perform a diagnosis on the Catalytic converter and I said "no". He then proceeded to tell me how he will never replace a component without verifying first. So, after speaking with Edgar and hearing him out, I realized that I had found the right tech for the job. Once he finished the diagnosis, he took me out to the shop, explained clearly so that I could understand what emission gas readings we should be seeing if, the catalytic converter was faulty and what emission gas readings should be reading with a good working catalytic converter. I was amazed when I saw the exact readings he specifically told me I would see if the Catalytic converter was good. I was oblivious to the level of training that California SMOG technicians go through to obtain their license, WOW California is no joke. They take their SMOG programs very serious. Long story short, Midas saved me over $250.00 and not once did he speak bad about anyone in particular considering all the people that had worked on my vehicle. As I was leaving I had to ask Edgar, "why didnt you just install the Catalytic Converter when I had asked you too" and he replied, "the Bureau of Automotive Repair in California has trained me to fix it right the first time especially when it comes to replacing Catalytic Converters or any emission components for that matter. I never imagined that Midas would have such experienced Technicians. Hats down to Midas and Edgar for doing such a great job!!! I will go no further when it comes to having my car fixed.

Went in because my radiator had fallen out. They were very kind in helping me out at first. The repair was nearly 900 dollars in total. I didnt really have much of a choice or I would have gotten a second opinion, but it wasnt safe to drive around. They did their little courteous check as most do when you take your car to a mechanic for the first time. Here is where the problem begins. They completely screwed up my wiring. On the courteous check it says the horn works which is a lie because it looks like they screwed it up and shorted out the cable. My engine also sounded smoother before I took it in now its all messed up. The battery light came on in my car 2 days after I took it in. I figure they screwed something up with the wiring on my alternator, but everything showing up on tests show its fine. Really guys? Get your act together. I dont want to take it back because I am in fear they are going to charge me up again like crazy when these are issues that should be fixed absolutely for free because they goofed. If I had the opportunity and didnt have daily things I had to get too I wouldnt be here at this overcharging sorry place they call a mechanic. There are other choice words I want to use for this place, but it would probably get deleted, but I want everyone to know not to come here, because they are I D I O T S!!!

Tried to rip me off!!! I had essentially flattened a 2 foot long piece of my exhaust. The flattened section was dead straight and easily accessible. The guy at the front desk took down my info, put my truck on the lift, came back and told me they would absolutely have to replace the entire exhaust from the catalytic converter back, claiming they couldn’t replicate the factory bend in the pipe, quoting me $290. I knew I didnt need all of that, so I told him, "Ill think about it." He asked, "Has it effected performance?" I said, "Well my truck has always been pretty gutless, but I am certain a flattened pipe cant be good, thats why I am getting it fixed." He laughed and said, "Truck? I call those modified minivans, get a real truck, Ive got a GMC 2500." I laughed as well, "I said my Honda Ridgeline does everything I need." I couldnt care any less at his attempted insult, as I dont drive a big truck to compensate for something else being disproportionately small. I happily took my "Minivan-truck" to Master Muffler around the corner, (3590 Wall AVE) and paid $80 for this simple fix.

DISHONEST!! I went to them to replace my front brake pads because that was the only thing keeping me from passing my safety test to get my car registered and after they had done that they told me that the rotors were chewed up and they couldnt give me a warranty on the brake pads because it would wear them down too fast, so they tried to get me to replace the rotors as well which was over $150 more. I told them I couldnt afford it at that time and they said I could just come in next month and do it. So I went back to Jiffy Lube to redo my safety test and I asked them about it and they said that my rotors were good until the next time I had to change the brake pads! So thank you Midas for trying to screw me over, you will never have my business again.

Waited for a week to get the parts and when I bring the car in and they install them they are the completely wrong color. Then I stead of stopping and saying we need to get different ones they I stall them anyway and get grease all over my headliner and the visors. To top it all off they put the originals in the dumpster and got grease on them as well which those were fine other than the issue of the mirrors not working properly in them. Then the "manager" repeatedly told me he didnt know how they got dirty his guy washed his hands. Its a light tan interior! I dont care how well your mechanic washed his hands thats what latex gloves are for. Terrible service.

I recently had work done at Midas Auto in Ogden, and I am very pleased with the work they did. I came in for an oil change and tire rotation but they also did a complete inspection over my vehicle for no extra charge and found some things that needed to be fixed that were a safety hazzard. The manager was very polite and really worked with me on the price and talked to me in a way that i could understand what was wrong and they got my vehicle fixed within the same day, it works great, I have not had any problems with it. I appreciate what they did for me and will continue to use them and recommend them to my family and friends. Thanks guys!!
