It is an absolute pleasure to be able to write, what I hope to be, a deserving and adequate review for Matthew and how he has treated my 86 year-old dad and myself when we found ourselves stranded in Ogden this past Monday. We were trying to take his motor home to the Tetons for a little Fall trip when my dad thought he was experiencing transmission problems by the time we were in Ogden. We found the nearest auto shop to inquire for help to diagnose the issue, and were referred back to Salt Lake City. That was not helpful as we had no idea what we were facing. So I found AAMCO .5 miles from where we were and recognized the national name so we drove over there and were met with a very sweet smile on Matthews face, which, in itself, when stranded, it a huge comfort. He treated us with a great amount of kindness and respect, listened to my dads concerns, sent Tony out to drive around with us to see if he could detect, or understand our issues, and then worked us onto his schedule. He started with the most conservative approach to try to save us money, as my dad had been pouring in great amounts of maintenance for the last several months on his motor home. Matthew had to order parts that would not be there until the next day, so he helped us to get onto the FrontRunner back to SLC so we could get back home and not have to also find lodging in Ogden (we had no idea it existed and really enjoyed that ride!). Once he repaired those issues, he contacted us again to let us know that some things improved, while a mechanical problem persisted that he would only be able to determine after he took the transmission apart. He then sent us detailed photos of the problem and with those in hand, he conferred with us via telephone to see if my dad wanted him to make the repairs. He gave us a quote for everything that needed to be done with all the discounts he could muster. Once he had to go ahead, he gave us a time frame of when he thought it would be repaired, and in fact, had it repaired a full day ahead of what we planned. Matthew has been in constant contact with us, kept his promises, offered to put the refrigerated food into the shop refrigerator for us when we asked him if it was still working. Matthew even offered to drive my dads medications back to us as he forgot them in the flurry of quick decisions to pack up and leave for the week. I have never met someone so kind, dedicated or overflowing with integrity to bend over backwards at every opportunity to help us. He made a very hard situation as pleasant and go as smoothly as possible. I am very protective of my very gentle and kind father, and Matthew treated him with the kind of care that I would myself. Top notch! We are very grateful that we were lead to Matthew (and Tony) as he made a challenging situation very easy to take. I have never been so impressed and I will always be thankful for the professional, caring manner in which Matthew took care of my beloved father! Thank you Matthew!

I was heading out for Spring Break on Monday March 28th for a week with my wife and kids. We were heading to Disneyland for a week full of fun and sun. On Saturday as I was getting my Tahoe ready for the trip, the transmission started slipping while driving it. I immediately called around to Auto repair shops in the area to get the Tahoe checked as quick as I could. I called several shops and to no avail they were closed already. I called Aamco of Ogden and the gentleman answered the phone. I explained my situation of what my vehicle was doing and the gentleman told me that the shop was only opened until noon on Saturday and was already closed for the day. He said that he only lived 20 minutes from the shop. He said that he would be happy to drive back and look at the vehicle for me for free. Upon arrival I apologized to the manager Matthew for taking time out of his weekend and time off to help me with my current situation. Matthews exact words to me were " No worries, thats what we are here for to help people out." After about an hour of Matthew looking at the Tahoe, he came to me and told me the transmission needed to be rebuilt. My first thought was that our Spring Break trip to Disneyland that my wife and I had been planning for the last year was out of the window. I told Matthew of our plans, he smiled at me and said " give me one second !" I watched him grab his cell phone out of his car and made several calls outside. He came in and told me that he could get his technician here within the hour to start pulling and rebuilding the transmission and have me on my way in a couple of days. I was shocked that he would do this for someone that he didnt know. I told him to go ahead with the work as it needed fixed. I was very surprised that his technician Tony, builder Eddie and Matthew ( Manager) would be willing to help out a customer at the drop of a hat. I left my Tahoe there thinking that we would have to cancel or postpone our trip. To my surprise Matthew called me at around 5 oclock on Sunday night to inform me that my Tahoe was built, installed and ready to pick up. I couldnt believe that they had fixed it and had it ready within such a short time. If I could give Aamco of Ogden 10 stars I would. I will be an Aamco customer for life. I just wanted to add that I also am going to send a letter to Aamco Corporate and let them know what great employees they have working for them. I am truly grateful that they got our Tahoe up and running so that we could take our trip. They went over and above with their outstanding customer service and willingness to help out a customer in need. Thanks again to Matthew, Tony and Eddie.

Im so frustrated! Back in April the transmission went out in our 08 dodge minivan. Foolishly I called aamco, because they would tow it to their shop for free. They performed a free 120 point check and said everything was perfect and then charged $650 to take the tranny apart and see whats wrong. They call back with an estimated $4,140 to rebuild it. Lots of broken stuff in there. So reluctantly we did it, got our car back 3 weeks later. It immediately began jerking into 2nd and 5th gear (the ones giving problems before it dropped). We took it back to aamco they had it another 11 days replacing springs and some electric casing and assured us it was good to go. We have had it back since tuesday and two days ago it began revving into 5rpm and wouldnt get out unless I put it in neutral then drive again. Today it hopped up to 6rpm and wouldnt get out of 2nd gear! I had to be rescued with wet kids in swim suits and leave my car AGAIN. We had to get a rental for the last 11 day span they had the van and only offered to pay $15 per day to either Enterprise or Hertz which only gets me a small sedan! If a small sedan were a suitable car for my family why would I drive a minivan? We ended up paying $305 to get an suv rental for 4 days so we could get groceries and take all of our kids in the same car. Im dreading what theyll tell me today.
