I am very saddened to write this review. I have been a member of this gym for seven years. I have paid faithfully every month by check because I do not like them debiting my checking account. Well last month they debited my account three times and only credited me once. I called the gym and they asked me to call National Fitness (a 3rd party vendor they hired to represent them). National Fitness told me they would send me a check in 60 to 90 days. Oh no! I told them that was not acceptable. They had debited and credited my account, so they could credit me back the extra money they took. That phone call went nowhere, so I called the gym and talked to Leo – the manager. Leo called National Fitness (which is 2 miles from my house) and they said they would mail a check out immediately. I should have it within 7 - 10 days. Well that didnt happen. On day 10 I went in to talk to Leo to tell him that the check did not come and I would like to cancel my account. He did nothing to save me as a customer so I left. I am still waiting for the reimbursement check! In the meantime National Fitness debited my account another time – even after I had signed cancellation papers and Leo promised he would waive the 30 day cancellation period. This was a joke! I finally called and talked to Sonya – who is another manager and told her I would be in to pick up my money - what they owed me from last month and this month! (Which is what they should have done in the first place) When I went in to pick it up she laid it on the counter and walked away. Never said Im sorry! WoW! What a way to care for your long-term customers. I speak to businesses on customer connection and retention. This is a great example for my business audiences on how to NOT handle a customer! Well Crossroads – there are three other gyms within a one mile radius of my home - I am sure they will take my money!

Billing with this company is a nightmare. I moved out of state at the beginning of March 2016 and I wasnt able to go in person to sign the cancellation forms. I called and spoke to Sonya and she told me that an email confirmation of my change of address from the post office would be sufficient. I did that, 3 weeks later I have a charge from National Fitness. I called in about that charge, they told me it would be the very last time Id be charged. Okay, Im fine with that. April 13th rolls around (supposedly two weeks past Crossroads separating ties from National Fitness (See Management Response from Richard Williams post 3/30)) and Ive been charged AGAIN after I was told specifically that everything was in order and I shouldnt have to worry about being charged again... At this point Ill be expecting another charge in the near future because management doesnt have their ducks in a row and cant get paperwork sorted out properly. I called in today and supposedly there was no confirmation for my cancellation from the first time I called, what the heck is up with that? I expect a refund from the last charge I received, especially since management told me in March that I would not receive any more charges, but I wont be holding my breath. Youre better off going to Golds Gym or anywhere that you can pay month to month and arent bound by a contract. If you do go here and youre trying to cancel, ask for a confirmation of everything they say theyll do on their end and get it in writing, otherwise you can expect to keep getting charged like theyve been doing to me. As a consolation, the gym itself is nice and the equipment is great, its just the billing/contract that makes this gym an overall turn off.

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! They are con artists, period. When I moved out of state I called to find out what I needed to do to cancel. I spoke with a "co-manager" and after explaining my situation she said the cancellation was taken care of. Now, several months later, Im getting collection calls wanting money for the whole time Ive been living a thousand miles away. They have "no record" a manager cancelled my account. And even though Ive sent them proof that I moved to Oregon AND what date I moved, they STILL want me to pay for several months that they arent entitled to. Going to take this one to the Better Business Bureau. Wish me luck, but in the meantime, PLEASE find a gym with a little more integrity. Return note to owner. Its not slanderous if its true (besides I believe youre referring to libel). Your policy can say whatever it wants. I did speak to a woman claiming to be a comanager who stated it was closed and taken care of. You now have the proof that I moved AND that I moved May 1st, yet you still want me to pay for all the months since?! Thats a scam. Looking back at all these reviews, Im noticing a theme in that direction. When you let me know that youre dropping your claim for the money I DO NOT owe you, Ill be happy to delete/edit this review. If not I will post reviews wherever I can and file with the BBB. If I can cost you even one new member because of your blatant scamming, itll be worth it. I have called several times to discuss this civilly and its pretty clear these "billing issues" are intentional.

Its a place to work out, classes are not crowded, and its cheap.....that is about it. I really dont like how crowded it feels in the upstairs area and paying the annual fee on top of my monthly dues because it doesnt appear that they use it towards any machine repair. Ive used a specific treadmill and the TV picture is ALWAYS fuzzy. Ive noticed that multiple TVs are like that and nothing has been fixed. So I dont like using their cardio machines. UPDATE: I chose to join another gym and decided to cancel this membership. A bit of constructive criticism for the manager, Leo: Please do not lie. When multiple employees know and see what "notes" were taken, it reflects bad business when an employee calls you out (mumbling and covering the phone to talk to another employee about what to do while I was talking) and lets you take care of the "mess". Yes, they said "Oh, thats Leo for you". I talked to an employee about being charged after I called back in early February to have my membership canceled and it wasnt. 3 weeks after the first call from you, you convinced me to freeze the account for 3 months, not 30 days. I called back before the "30 day" freeze to completely cancel and my account was charged. Today, I talked to you again and you said my account was canceled as of today.....it should have been canceled when I called and said "cancel it" the first time.

I loved the facility and I loved the equipment. However, I am more than unhappy with how the place is ran. I tried getting out of my contract because I have a protective order against someone who still goes there and they wouldnt let me out of it without paying out the rest of the contract! Really?! You guys need your money that bad that personal safety means nothing?! I stopped going to the Ogden facility almost an entire year before my contract was up! I liked it enough to keep trying to go to the Layton facility (from farr west) until that one closed down. I did everything on my end to stay away from the person from the order. But who wants to pay for a gym they no longer attend?! Then they just renewed the contract without my consent under a different name? I signed a contract for crossroads. Not the perfomax gym or whatever its called now. Poor management. Even poorer ethics. Greedy.
