I give you two stars for two reasons: 1. Expediency of pulling my car into the bay to begin work on plugging my tire. 2. The expediency of actually doing the job and telling me they could not perform plugging my tire. Heres the backstory.... I went to Pep Boys to request assistance with plugging my tire. I had a screw in it. Within 5 minutes, my car was on a lift. I physically sat behind the bays opening to watch the gentleman perform the work. Not because I didnt trust him, but just because I was a curious on-looker and wanted to watch. My car goes up in the air, the guy finds the screw, circled the screw with chalk, and then takes a lunch/break for 30 MINUTES!!!! Why would the service guy take a lunch/break with someones car on the lift AND the answer to plugging my tire was ultimately a no he wasnt going to do it because he "felt the screw was too close to the wall of the tire to perform the plug." Bottom line was this should have only taken a total 10 minutes to check and tell me no he wasnt going to do it. Instead, 40 minutes of my life was burned for nothing. As a manager, I would definitely have a policy to have the service guys only take a lunch/break between customers in order to not have the customers wait for X amount of time MORE than it should. Take a lunch/break with no customers car on a lift. So, I took my car to a Sunoco station. The same station I always took my car for emissions inspections. Told the guy there the story and within FIVE minutes, I had my tire plugged (wasnt put on a lift btw) and I paid only $12 for the work. All in 5 minutes time! The guy who performed the plugging couldnt believe the Pep Boys guy wouldnt plug it. The screw was far from the wall of the tire. Granted, it wasnt directly in the middle of the tire, but it was probably a few centimeters away from the wall and posed no harm for plugging.

I have nothing but sterling reviews about the Pep Boys on Richmond Hwy. The service manager Christopher Ontiveros is a wonderfully patient gentlemen. I am in yesterday needing to find mounting bolts for my license tag. Mr. Ontiveros went out of his way without me evening having to request his assistance before I knew it he was outside at 8:30PM in the freezing cold trying diligently to find the right bolt to ensure my license plate was securely and properly mounted to my car. I was totally amazed by his extreme professional, concern for me as a customer and commitment to making sure I had VIP level service. I have been to car auto parts service stores before but none of them compare to the level of service Mr. Ontiveros provided, he is doing the Pep Boys corporation a great service with his outstanding performance and customer service. This gentlemen needs to be promoted to regional manager to educate other employee on outstanding customer service. I cant say enough go things about my experience. Before I even went to the store I called ahead they were polite and response to the two calls I made to request prices for a couple of items. The were timely in their response to to checking the prices on the floor and returning to the phone. The Pep Boy Teams and Mr. Christopher Ontiveros especially deserve recognition for their outstanding performance. Great jobs guys I live 20 minutes away from this store but you guys have my business from now on. Thanks again Christopher you are awesome!!!!!

Horrible experience. A few weeks ago, I had my brakes and rotors replaced on the front end of my car. After a week, I started to hearing some clicking noises in the front end, as well as my brakes squeaking. I set up an appt to have everything checked out, after being told they may have not tightened something correctly, etc. They told me there was no squeaking coming from the brakes (yet there is), and said the noises I was hearing was due to me needing 2 new struts and a sway bar. Fishy, as I feel like they would have been able to see this initially when getting my brakes and rotors replaced. They told me the total cost of parts and labor would be $1100!!!! I laughed in their face, and went and got a second opinion. Turns out, I DONT NEED EITHER the struts or sway bar replaced, they are perfectly fine! I just need the sway bar bushings replaced which is a $50 fix! This is absolutely ridiculous and I cant believe they would try to take advantage of someone like this! I tried sending this complaint through pep boys themselves but after 2 days said that "It not meet their guidelines for posting on their site", so Im assuming since its a bad review they dont want it posted. Below is the screen shot of the email. Never again will I deal with PepBoys!

Horrible. I went to replace my tires and it took them 2 hours!! I was on time for my appointment at 6PM and they took my car in for service at 6:40PM. I didnt get the car back till 8:15PM. The mechanics who were working on the car are lazy and are looking to take all sorts of breaks. I saw that they had replaced a tire in about 10 minutes or so, therfore i decided to walk over to the adjacent shopping center for food. After the mechanics saw me walk away its like they STOPPED WORKING. I came back 45 minutes later and they were still only on the second tire. HORRIBLE! I want to point out that all i had done was tire replacement. I dint get alignment done or anything like that. 2 hours is just not acceptable. Pepboys dont take appointments from people if you dont plan to have their car serviced at the appointed time!!

this is my second time to pep boys for auto service and i highly recomend this to other people. the associate Jose was great and he did not try and sell me anything. Instead he did quote me for what i thought needed to be done, asked why i think it needs to be done and offered a different solution for the problem (which turned out being right and saving me alot) he also was very understanding with the cost (being it was just over two years that i had the same work done and was more then i wanted to spend ) and did what he could with in his power and talking to management to help me with the cost. it may have taken longer then i would have liked to get it done but i am not only thankful but glad to have been helped with someone with great customers service and overall good prices for service.

It took 6 hours for them to change the tires and rear brakes when I had an appointment. I didnt hear from them until over 3 hours past my promised ready time, which was 15 minutes before they closed. I could not get to them before they closed that night, so I had to wait until the morning. When I got there in the morning, every single car door was unlocked! I had valuable items in my car and they left it unlocked in the parking lot overnight. I will not return knowing that even though they had my car for 6 hours, they could not take 1 second to lock the doors. Also, when I told the cashier when I checked out, she just said that she had nothing to do with it and that no one was there that I could talk to. There was no apology. It was very unprofessional.
