I would not recommend Wiygul Automotive Clinic as your choice of automotive repair. I went there to get an oil change with a 19 point inspection and tire rotation for $20 (A groupon deal!). I must admit, the price sucked me in but it wasnt worth it in the end. First I was told it would take about 45 minutes to complete. Seeing as though I was one of the first people there at 8:15am I believed that time estimate would be correct. To say the least, I was surprised when I finally saw my car 2 hours later. The mechanic informed me that there were a number of things wrong with my car but he never gave me a price estimate for anything. I do get oil changes frequently so I was very surprised that in such a short amount of time (3 months) since my last oil change, all of these things needed repair. The one thing I did want to repair then and there was my left headlight because I knew from driving at night that it was out and I planned on taking a long night trip in a few days. I said I would come back later for the other repairs. I didn’t ask for a price estimate for replacing the headlight but the mechanic didn’t tell me either. I had just repaired my right headlight a few months ago and it cost around $30 so I expected to pay around $30. I sat for another 30 minutes staring at my car waiting for it to be taken for the minor repair. The mechanic arrived, took my car, the repair was probably 10 or 12 minutes and he was back. I was very glad it was quick because I was ready to go at that point. They said my car was ready, I went to pay and I saw $65 on the receipt. To say the least, I WAS OUTRAGED; partly because I was expecting to pay around $30 as I did before but also because it was such a high amount (to me at least) that the mechanic should have told me the price. $18 was for the parts and the other $47 was for the labor. So it cost $47 for 10 minutes of labor!!! I paid and left and vowed never to go back. The price of the headlight got me thinking about the price of the other repairs. When I got home I called back to get an estimate of what everything would cost. Once again, he told me to give him an hour to configure the numbers. FOUR HOURS LATER, he called back with an estimate of $3000 for parts and repairs!!!!! At that point I knew I was dealing with shady characters. I called around and found other mechanics that could carry out the same work for less than half of what Wiygul wanted to charge. In addition, I was told that Wiygul is known for padding on repairs that are not really necessary just so they can get work. The moral of the story is: I will never go back. But do your own research. The manager was really nice but I don’t go to an auto repair shop for niceness, I go for good honest service at a decent price and that is not what I was provided. Wiygul would probably be a nice place to just get an oil change but anything requiring more intense work save your money and TIME, go elsewhere.

I usually dont do the negative reviews, or any for that matter. But today I got a notification for a Starbucks gift card for a review. And since I just had to drop more money on work that they did for me recently I jumped at the chance to share my experience with this shop. Went to this shop and should have listened to friends and stayed away. They had a $50 off service coupon which is the only reason I went since the price of the work was the same price quoted to me by Merchant tire. I needed my wheel bearing replaced. The guy at the front gave me some BS that Lincoln recommends replacing the complete hub and bearing assembly when doing this work rather than pressing out the bearing. I said okay if that is what Lincoln recommends lets do that then. The day goes by after dropping my car off in the morning (they did shuttle me to work which was appreciated) and they call me close to 6PM. The guy informs me that the bearing was so bad he had to cut out the bearing and he would have to replace the complete assembly. This would cost a lot more. I asked him what he means because the initial quote was for the whole assembly since as the guy told me Lincoln recommends replacing the whole unit instead of pressing out the bearing. He said no that is not what we quoted you, I told him yes it is I have it right here in writing. He checked with his manager and called me back, and told me that there is no way I got a quote for that work at that price (called me a liar). At this point I cannot just pick up my car and take it somewhere else as the hub and bearing are off and not salvageable. He gives me this song and dance that the parts alone would cost XYZ and they could not take a loss on this work. What do you mean you cant take a loss? You should have ate the cost if you made a mistake in quoting me, or you made a mistake and damaged the hub that you probably werent going to fix anyways. This is how you build brand loyalty. Long story short they agreed to fix both, but they said I could not use my coupon (the only reason I went) on top of that they said I would not be given a valid warranty for my parts. Guess what that was 2-3 years ago and I just had to replace the same damn bearing last month! And when I spoke to Merchant about the work they said that they were not aware of any recommendations or requirements from Lincoln to replace both, they said it was as simple as pressing out the bearing and replacing. I will never EVER return to Wiygul. It pisses me off that I still get email advertisements from them. I really wanted to like this shop too as it is local. If you have to go, know your stuff and what is needed. I would recommend you stay away! Go to Merchant on Duke.

Extremely shady, rude and unprofessional. I used a coupon for a $40 Spring Maintenance checkup that included oil change and safety inspection. Dave told me I needed to get the battery replaced (not sure if this is actually true, but I believed them) and replace the wipers ($30) right away. Dave then told me I needed over $3000 worth of repairs done as soon as possible. They said the power steering pump needed replacing because it was leaking ($800), that my rear brakes needed replacing ($450), the struts needed replacing ($900), and the 90K service needed doing ($970). After consulting with my dad, I told Dave I was going to wait on these repairs and he became curt and pushy, telling me I needed to get the wipers replaced or else they would fail the safety inspection I needed. Unfortunately, I chose to go the easy route rather than replace the wipers myself so I could pass the inspection, and figured they were telling the truth about the battery so opted for safety and got that replaced. Another customer who came in while I was waiting to pay for her safety inspection was told the items she failed and that if she chose to replace them herself she could bring it back again for a free re-inspection. I was not offered that courtesy. While waiting for my car, I watched as another member pushed an elderly woman into getting things done that she wanted to take her car elsewhere for. Finally, I listened to that same man get angry with another shop he had called because he got put on hold for ten minutes, rant about it to Dave, and then yell at and berate the person on the other line for their unprofessional practice. I then took my car to Jim at Royal Service Center on N. Quaker Lane - turns out the "leak" on the power steering pump was residue from when the last one was installed, and everything else was in excellent condition - the brakes only needed cleaning and adjusting. The only thing that actually needed doing right away were some of the 90K items. Not only that, but before I even got my car in Royal quoted me about $1,000 less to do all the things Wiygul said needed doing (example: $400 vs the $970 for the 90K service). I recommend Royal to EVERYONE I know and will NEVER recommend this place. Maybe they thought I was an easy mark for big bucks because Im a young woman. What an incredibly shady business practice!!
