READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK A MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY! I have NEVER had a worse experience with a company. Period. I have never even written a review on yelp before. This company was recommended to me by a friend. The company was professional and courteous up until the day of my move. I was moving from DC to NYC. They were scheduled to load the truck at 2pm on Friday. They did not arrive until 5:30pm, and we had to reach out to them to see what was going on. They at no point called us. Furthermore, everyone we spoke to was rude and offered no apologies, just claimed that the customer before me was difficult. Anyway, by the time they arrived and loaded my stuff, they were not done until 8pm. My mom and I had to drive to New York that night, as they were scheduled to deliver my items to my new apartment at 10 am the next morning. We arrived to New York at 1am, and had to get up, return the rental car, and make our way to my new apt on the west side by 10am(the time Georgetown moving was supposed to arrive). We were all ready to go at 10am at mu new place when I get a call from the manager Jim, who says "ahh miss I dont know how to tell you this but..." and proceeds to tell me that our stuff has not even left DC!! He then tells me that I shouldnt expect my stuff until Monday or Tuesday!!! His explanation is that his driver had a family emergency. Okay, fair enough but how about you get another driver, its inexcusable to deliver my stuff 3 days late, and for him to think that was even an option is absurd. After going back and forth, I could no longer stand to talk to Jim as this conversation was going no where and it was clear that my stuff wasnt coming that day or the next. Jim told me hed keep trying to find a solution but he wanted to "prepare me for the possibility that my stuff isnt coming until Tuesday." So that said my mom and I had to spend another $200 per night to stay in the city as my new place was completely empty. On Saturday night we got a call that my move was scheduled for Tuesday morning. $900 for food and lodging in NYC later, Tuesday morning had arrived and they didnt show up, at the scheduled time of 10am. They called at 10:30 saying they were stuck in traffic and would be there in a half hour. Long story short they kept saying they were coming and just stuck in traffic. After finally getting a hold of Jim at 4pm, he told us the truck had broken down on the NJ turnpike and was brought to a dealership. He said he was going to bring another truck and that my stuff would be delivered on Wednesday morning. Im not sure why it took him the entire day to tell us what was happening but the company clearly sucks at communication. Also, note that we asked Jim why he couldnt get in the truck and drive my stuff Saturday when his driver had an emergency and he said he didnt have a commercial license. However, 3 days later, he apparently magically had said license. At this point we were so exhausted and furious we just wanted my stuff. The crew finally arrived to deliver my stuff at my new apartment in NYC at 1pm on Wednesday, four days late. Just when we thought things couldnt get any worse, my stuff was damaged, things were in trash bags, boxes were broken and open, a flat screen tv was missing, my furniture all damaged. It was if they threw my stuff from one truck to the other. We obviously should not have paid a dime at this point as the costs that we incurred as a result of their incompetence. However it turned out that Jim had charged my moms card used to hold the reservation for the move without authorization. Georgetown moving wont return our calls and we are in the process of disputing the charge with the credit card company. I URGE TO FIND ANOTHER COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE OR PERHAPS A COUPLE OF DONKEYS. Your stuff will probably arrive faster and in better condition.

I booked this company a few months ago - based on the earlier reviews - but seriously, read the most recent reviews and believe them. I could not urge you strongly enough to AVOID this company. They are cheap (in estimates) for a reason. They WILL hit you with hidden charges and their movers WILL move like snails and take double the time to pack your apartment than it actually requires. The final price was 55% higher than quoted and the customer service was SO SO SO bad. Like other reviewers experienced here, this company also damaged furniture - and even left large items behind (as well as leaving empty pizza boxes and garbage all over my empty apartment). After 3 emails about this (which never even received an acknowledgement) I asked the movers to get their office to call me. Ashley was unable to justify their appalling behaviour and didnt even offer an apology for the items I had to throw away or leave behind because their movers failed to pack them. Honestly, AVOID this company. Pay double if you have to... it will be worth it in the end.

We want to warn everyone. Please please please do not use them. If you want to know about the details, please message me. I am happy to spend time so you dont get into the same situation like we did. We scheduled an interstate move with them. In summary, aside from rude attitudes by everyone, they did not show up multiple times in one day after they kept on giving us hope that they would. We ended up renting a truck and did the move ourselves with last minute contractors (thank you to them). I was hung up on multiple times. Then they stopped answering our phone calls. and No one called back to reschedule the next day or the day after. We had to call today to tell them we no longer need them since we already moved. It was almost laughable (now) that it was so terrible. Violating our contract was the least of our concerns, how they treated us when we were most desperate and needed their help was unbelievable. I am still shocked how they are still in business.

Do not use this company. They grossly underestimated the price to pick up our stuff and we ended up paying over 2x the cost. Then, when we called to get it back, they had a 2+ week schedule backlog before we could get it delivered. The office staff are always having to call you back. The moving guys clearly didnt understand how to move items quickly or safely -- an expensive armoire was broken, they had no idea how to get the fridge out the front door, and they moved at a snails pace (key when you are paying them by the hour). My husband ended up having to do a lot of carrying of items to get them to pick up the pace. Never again.

The office staff was great to work with and they clearly explained the estimate and what to expect on moving day. The movers arrived during the estimated window and the move kicked off seemingly well. It took 5 hours to move a bed, mattress, box spring, dresser, bookshelf, TV, and TV stand along with 20 or so boxes from Leesburg to DC. The drive, which I took at the same time, took nearly twice as long for them as it did me. Once the furniture was in the apartment, there were noticeable dings and scratches on nearly every piece of furniture and scratches on the hardwood floors from where things were just dropped down or slid.
