Excellent overall experience. I used to work for Allied Moving during my summer vacations during college, and I moved many times while in the military. I would rate my experience level with movers pretty high. That said, for my first personal move outside of the military, I chose to go with G&J based off other reviews on Google and Angies list. I solicited multiple quotes from different carriers, and I asked for two different quotes. First, I asked for quotes for just the pick-up and delivery cost (Arlington, VA to Philadelphia, PA). Second, I asked for a quote with packing of my house hold goods (HHG), pick-up, and delivery. The quote for the pick-up and delivery was very competitive, and is ultimately what I decided to go with. The quote for the packing was very high, and was not competitive with other careers or the cost of just packing myself (which is what I did). The crew that arrived to pick-up my stuff varied in experience, but all were competent and looked to the most experienced member of their crew when wrapping or moving a piece of furniture, which is what I look for when evaluating whether I need to watch the movers closely or not. On both the pick-up and delivery dates, they arrived within 20 minutes of the agreed upon time. They even called with updates beforehand. They were extraordinary careful with my stuff, courteous the whole time, and actually pretty fun to talk to throughout the day. I even peeked in the trucked and was impressed with their packing of the truck (they hate it when customers do that btw). They did a great job and I would use them again, and would recommend them to my friends as well.

I went with G&J after reading the reviews on Google. Not a single one was bad. I asked for a quote on moving from Silver Spring, MD into a storage unit in Alexandria, VA...and before the final drop off at the storage unit, dropping off some things like my couch at my new house. The final price I ended up paying was only around $30 off from the quote! After getting the quote, I got the quote for renting a Uhaul and then paying movers for the hourly time needed to do everything. G&J were FAR cheaper than doing it all myself. Their rate includes everything--their truck, their movers, them driving their truck. If I had rented a Uhaul, I would have paid MORE to have to deal with the hassle of getting the Uhaul, driving the Uhaul and returning the Uhaul (and having a 2nd person with me to drive me back and forth to Uhaul or paying for Uber!) Totally worth it. They did everything within the expected timeframe. Nothing was broken. Everything went great. Highly recommend! Thanks for everything! We will use you in the future!

I recently hired G&J Moving to help me move the contents of a 26 foot moving truck into my new townhouse. I spoke to Alex over the phone. He was helpful and the price he quoted me was very reasonable. I called and got quotes from about 10 companies while planning my move. G&Js price was one of the best. They called the day before the move to confirm the arrival time we had arranged. I asked if they could arrive a little later than we had initially discussed, and they were happy to accommodate my request. On moving day, they arrived at exactly the right time and got to work right away. I had originally booked a three-man team for three hours, but they were able to finish in two. The crew only took one break and only after I suggested it. They worked hard and did what I asked. The management of this company is fair and appreciates your business. I would recommend this company to others and I intend to use them again myself.

I have moved way too many times in my life, both domestically and internationally and have had multiple good and bad experiences along the way. I consider myself a pretty professional mover and had a long list of questions and requirements when I started interviewing moving companies on my last move. I chose G&J based on the reviews I had read about them and was quickly called up by Alex to go over my needs and get an estimate. Alex was so professional, fun and patient with me! He was very responsive and very accountable in every way. I decided to go with the company based on my trust that Alex would truly help make the move easy and drama-free. My third move with G&J - this time a long distance move from VA to Central NY. I had to delay scheduled move on very short notice due to a health setback & they were so very thoughtful & kind; setting aside my concerns that it would be an inconvenience. On rescheduled move day, the extreme heat & humidity got the better of me & extra crew was called in, putting in a very long day to take over all the packing I simply couldnt manage. Crew leader, Ed, was my hero - looking out for my safety & well-being - above & beyond all expectations. This move included precious antique furniture, fragile art & very large paintings - all were carefully wrapped & handled with care. Hopefully, this was my last move, but I would not hestitate to call on them again or recommend them to my family or friends if needed.

We have used G&J Moving twice now, and they always do such a great job! Ive had three different crews, and not one has disappointed. Our first move was a local move, and they were quick and efficient, and very reasonable. This move was over 180 miles, and we had two different crews; the first being Mat and crew who packed the truck with our household goods...Great job guys! The second crew was Roman and his guy who drove and unpacked out stuff...I cant say enough good things about them! I found them very professional, punctual, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them, and would use them again.

Move could not have gone more smoothly and the crew who helped could not have been nicer. Sam, the foreman on the job, was especially respectful and kind. Moves are stressful and he was great. Alex, who was the point person based in Maryland, was quick to respond to questions and very helpful. It was a somewhat convoluted job: a pick-up from a storage unit in DC which G&J then stored at their own facility until the scheduled move date; then a stop in New York to move me out of my apartment; and finally unloading all in Rhode Island. All arrived safe and sound. Highly recommend.

Excellent service. These are the nicest hard working gentlemen. I had more things than they anticipated but that didnt stop them. It was unusually hot on moving day but they pressed on. I dont know how they moved so much and not loose momentum. I was tired just watching them. Price was reasonable and I made sure I tipped the workers. They spent over 12 hours moving things and never complained and yet had to drive some distance home. They took excellent care of all my furniture. Would recommend them to anyone. Thank you
