After reading all the positive reviews on here, I was really disappointed with my experience here. The charging port had come loose on my laptop, so it wasnt charging properly, and I took it in to have this fixed. This was right before spring break, so I left it with them for 10 days to fix. When I came to pick up my laptop, they said that it was just my charger that was causing the error, and gave me a new charger, all for the great price of $140. As soon as I took my laptop home, I found that it still would not charge. I called them back, and ended up taking my laptop back in that same afternoon. Although they denied it had any issues at first, within 5 minutes of use I was able to produce the issue again. Clearly they did not do much testing to see if the issue had really been resolved. I once again left my laptop with them, this time for another 4 days. On Friday, they called to tell me that it was finally fixed. They tell me theyre open until 5:30, so I head over right when I get off work at 5 to pick it up. I arrived at about 5:15 to pick up my laptop, and the office was already closed, even though I told them I would be coming right about at that time to pick it up. Great. Either way, my laptop was finally fixed. As it clearly was NOT a charger problem, I asked for my original charger back, and for a refund on the one they had given me. They told me they had thrown my charger away, so I was stuck. The replacement charger they gave me is absolute garbage. It gets so hot that within a couple of weeks, the plastic box has literally melted, and I had to order a new charger from Samsung (at only $17, when the crap one they gave me was $40). I would definitely NOT recommend this company to anyone. Although they eventually got my problem fixed, it took 2 weeks to fix a very basic problem. They were overall just very unprofessional, closing the office early, being slightly rude to me when I pointed out they hadnt fixed the issue, etc. I went with these guys because they were local and kind of ended up getting screwed, as I couldve sent it to Samsung to have repaired, and it wouldve cost me $100, and taken less than a week. Maybe I just got unlucky somehow based on all the other great reviews, but I was just left with a horrible taste in my mouth for this company.

I normally don’t write reviews (although I read plenty of them). However, my experience with Top Notch was so great that I feel it necessary to sing their praises out loud. What prompted me to call them was that I couldn’t get wifi service in more than half of my house. My house is 1-story and very long, and is shaped kind of like a U. I had purchased an extender from Best Buy and took a swing at setting it up on my own. No luck. Sick of messing with the issue, and not knowing what to do next, I started cold-calling computer and networking companies out of the phonebook. I don’t remember if TNC was the first place I called or not, but I decided I liked them because my first point of contact there (probably the receptionist) was very nice and made me feel confident about them. Together, we pretty much decided that I had a faulty wireless repeater, and she would send somebody out to take care of everything the next day. I received a call a few minutes before the appointment from the gentleman who was on his way (who turned out to also be the owner). He apologized for running a bit late, and explained that the guy who normally does these calls was sick so he was on double duty today. I told him no sweat, take your time. I was impressed by the fact that he called at all-very courteous. Chris arrived and got things taken care of quickly. He came prepared with a new range extender, which I was fully prepared to purchase. However, it turns out that mine was not broken-I just didn’t set it up correctly. I can appreciate the fact that he let me know this, even though he could have easily sold me a new extender. It’s a good thing, too, because I think I lost the receipt for mine. Chris stayed a while after fixing the extender, helping out with minor computer/iPad issues and answering a bunch of my stupid questions. I have to admit, I was really having a good time chatting with him. Aside from being a thorough professional, he also has an extremely pleasant personality. When it came time to pay, I was actually a little surprised at how cheap the bill was (I stupidly didn’t ask about rates beforehand). I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know. I cannot say enough about how incredible my experience with this company has been. With the issues one is bound to have these days involving their technology - an affordable, reliable & friendly experience is all one can ask for...not to mention all of my computer problems were quickly fixed! I couldnt believe it...I though my device was a goner and, according to every other place in Cville, it was. The guys at Top Notch took the challenge with a smile and saved my work and possibly my sanity. Another plus is the dynamic they have. All walks of life, working together on technology and improving my life but also our community with a great small business presence! I have since reccomended these guys to jobless than 50 people. Should I ever have another issue, I will be 100% sure to visit my new friends at Top Notch where I know service will be the best!!!

Very satisfied with both experiences Ive had here. The first time was a very difficult data recovery (restoring files from a corrupt virtual machine on a dead Macbook Pro). I had tried a few other places first, and they either failed or turned me down and said it couldnt be done. I was very impressed with the expertise. The second was an on-site visit to set up a wireless range extender in my field office. After completing his task, Christian was nice enough to look at why our car wasnt starting and give me a ride into town so I could pick up a new battery! Above and beyond the call of duty. Christian did an excellent job on both counts and I continue to recommend him to everyone I know.

No matter what the issue, Christian and his affiliates can find the correct part(s) and have them to me wherever my business and leisure takes me whether its Tampa, Detroit, Central and Tidewater VA or Nashville. Top Notch has become part of my essential life-support team. I first showed up on a Friday afternoon, stressed out before a big trip, with a complex issue that eventually encompassed 3 computers. Over the next 2 weeks Van and Christian worked with me remotely to seamlessly and adroitly resolve all of it, giving sane, expert advice every time I needed to make a decision.
