I recently moved into Sleepy Hollow and took some clothes in for dry cleaning and a pair of vintage Levis for hemming on Friday May 23rd after work. I explained to the tailor that I wanted my jeans to be an inch and a half to two inches longer because they will shrink when they are washed. He seemed to have problems understanding this or wanting to do this. A lady came over and they both proceeded to argue with me about making it the shorter length like I had not been planning on doing this for the last 3 weeks when I had time. I should have taken all of my clothes and walked out at this point but I made the mistake of giving in after a long day at work. I guess I was just amazed that two people would bother to argue with me about what I wanted when it makes no difference to them. If they were too long after washing I would have come in and have them hemmed again. I picked the jeans up last night and they are too short. Since they cannot make the jeans longer, though if they were too long they could have made them shorter, they have ruined a pair of vintage Levis. I will never use a ZIPS again. I am not a complainer and do not like to argue with people over what I want. If that is what they want to do then that is good for them. I will find someone who will do what I ask without hassling me. This is a shame because I need to find a good dry cleaner in my area.

This is the second time that I dropped my dry cleaning (only 6 shirts) at 7:00 am and at 5:00 it was not ready. The manager told me that it is always guaranteed anytime after 5 pm. So, I walked outside and took a picture of the big sign that says "In by 9 out by 5" and showed it to him. His explanation was that the sign means anytime after 5 pm. I then pointed out that it was 5:20 pm to which he replied that they should be ready any minute. Long story short, he placed the blame on me misinterpreting the sign in by 9 out BY 5 (not after 5). A store should always stand by their advertisements and guarantees, if not, at least admit your wrong. A simple apology would have at least made me feel a little better. Obviously this company cannot admit when they are wrong, I cannot imagine the blame they would place on a customer for something more serious like a ruined $1000 suit. Bad Business Zips, I certainly will never come back.

If you have clothes that are not that important to you then take them to Zips, otherwise I would recommend going elsewhere. They have the cheapest prices in town, but that comes with the worst quality of cleaning as well. During my visit my clothes came back barely cleaned and horribly pressed. I honestly think that I gave them to Zips less wrinkled and creased than when I got them back (i hang my shirts up after each wear so they never hit the floor). It is apparent that they perform rush jobs to meet large cleaning quotas on all of the clothing they process, otherwise they would stop and notice the poor quality of their work. If you want to keep your clothing in good condition spend a little extra and pay for a quality cleaning service.

Absolutely avoid this place at all costs! Brought 5 shirts here. 5 shirts were ruined. I asked for a wash and press and received my shirts permanently wrinkled in the shoulder area and middle torso. PERMANENTLY WRINKLED. The shirts were damaged by excessive heat. They clearly do not take any care when they press your shirts with the machine. The shirts could not be fixed by trying to iron over the wrinkles. Even other dry cleaners said it was impossible to fix. When I tried to contact their customer service, I received no reply. Do yourself a favor and spend an extra dollar or two at a better place.

Read the back of the claim check to discover that if they lose your clothes, you must produce an original receipt to make a claim. So when they lost my sport jacket I went to Fairfax County Consumer Affairs. The Zips owner waited until the third letter the county sent before telling the county he would pay me what I asked. And then he promptly sent a check for far less. Any place that would treat a government agency and a customer with such contempt is a place to avoid. Stay away from this horror show.

The staff at this location is very nice! Excellent customer service. Items are ready quickly and are clean and neat. Prices for comforters/duvets and quilts are reasonable and they do a very good job. I just dont understand why they dont have email notification like other ZIPS. However, parking is easy unlike the DC location.

I took back three pair of pants that just did not clean very well. Without any hesitation they put them down for a re-do. Picked them up the following day and I was pleasantly surprise to see that they were perfectly cleaned, pressed and creased. Good job Zips !

Poor customer service. Ruined several clothes and then hassle you about fixing them. They even ripped something and safety pinned it back together so they had to be aware of their actions. Additionally, they even refused to have their in house alterations shop fix it.

Go to another location. this one has ruined three of my suits all with a left elbow tear. I changed to this location about three months ago from Kings Highway, where I never had a problem, because it is closer to my house.....big costly mistake. Feel like a sucker.

These guys are okay for the price you pay. Dont expect fancy results and dont compare them to $6 a garment organic dry cleaning store. Okay (at best) for all my generic clothes - they do a decent job for a cheap price!

Waist of $, ruined my white suit and dress, coats were full of lint and customer service was poor to say the least. Everyone had an attitude, like they were to cool for school. Dont go!

This place is very efficient and for the most part it gets the dry cleaning correct. Sometimes they get the shirt buttons broken and they have replaced those when its pointed out.

Treat clothes rough - break buttons, burn marks, holes - and refuse to acknowledge its their fault. Charge a $10 min. on debit in violation of their merchant agreement with Visa.

They definitely just iron shirts and give them back as I could still smell my cologne and see food crumbs on one. Other than the lack of cleaning, the customer service is good.

This zips is alot better than the other zips locations. The tailor is very good and my shirts always come back clean unlike some of the other locations
