I wish I could provide a good review, but our post office in Locust Grove, VA has been extremely unreliable recently. Each letter and package sent seems to be a risk, so much that I cringe when I put my flag up. I have had multiple bills never arrive, resulting in late payments (ultimately hurting credit). I have also sent letters that have literally taken a year to return to us (undeliverable address). I understand undeliverable is beyond their control, but does that typically take one year? It was a birth announcement, and we got the letter just before we were about to send an invite to the 1st birthday party. There have been other instances where mail has taken 2-3 months when it should only take a few days (sent to South Carolina.) It has gotten to a point where if there is anything important to send, I have to drive to Culpeper and deliver it myself. This does not mention the multiple times that mail has been delivered to the wrong house on our street, but luckily we are all neighborly and deliver it quickly, so this is concerning but not a deal breaker. Overall, I am hoping things improve soon, and hope that management reads these reviews.

There are obviously some serious issues with this post office. I was expecting a package delivered, which I never got. The tracking shows it was left in my postal box. The only problem with that is it wouldnt have fit. I have no idea where they delivered it to, but it wasnt to me. I tried to get some recourse in person, but was rudely informed by postmaster Jennifer Johnson that theres nothing I can do about it. She did, however, suggest I ask Amazon to replace the items even though THEY lost the package. Im pretty sure that qualifies as fraud. Way to go Locust Grove in the customer service and ethics department!

Can never deliver a package on time. I used to live in Fredericksburg and I always got my packages on time. With this post office Im lucky if I get my package two days after the specified date. And also they need to learn where people live as my mail seems to always end up on my neighbors porch... They have also lost some packages of mine and then found them several days later, i go to pick it up and they say i need a slip...I never got a slip and they treat me like im stupid. These people are rude and honestly i dont think they care. They need training in every field and they need it fast.

This office lost all the original workers from their original location where EM Autos is now at beside the McDonalds. Since then, the customer service has really suffered, yes, that move was YEARS ago, like 15+ years ago. Seems to get worse and worse each passing year. They do have a few who are decent and will go out of their way to help you! Other times I wonder, get unwanted mail, I mark it Return To Sender and stick it in outgoing mail......next day its back in my PO box.......

Avoid this post office at all cost. I have a vocal chord disorder and they treated me like dirt. Even had to show me how to "use the scale" and the scale showed my postage was right, then the manager told me that the scale had a different chip. What the heck. Actually made me open my package and take out 1 ounce of cardboard. The treated me like dirt and need training on a range of issues...the biggest one being how to treat customers with special needs!!!!

I paid $7.10 for a 2-Day delivery on a package that weighed 13 oz. I told them I needed this package delivered by 2/1/17. It arrived at the PO in Locust Grove, VA this morning. Unfortunately, my package is going to sit there overnight and get delivered 2/2/17. The PO is covered because the receipt says EXPECTED delivery 2/1/17. I could have sent it for under $5.00 & it would get there in 3 days instead of $7.10. The PO is a rip off.

I pay for two day delivery for a package to be delivered, they wait to deliver to.my gated community close to.there closing time to.where i cant receive my item, there weekend deliveries are lazy, so dont plan on.receiving your items on.Time.

im not entirely sure why all i see are negative comments. everytime Ive been to this location, theyve been nothing but nice and helpful. my only complaint is sometimes theyre not very organized about whos checking people out and all that.

This Post Office located in Locust Grove, VA while physically small is easy to get in and out of quickly and is great in large part due to its outstanding efficient, friendly, and professional staff.
