Hi! Ive become a Google+ user specifically so I may write this review. Ernie and Raj have been great to work with and the facility itself is exactly what I needed. The location is fairly convenient, not too far from the GW Pkwy or toll rd, just off 123. All the loading/unloading is in a sheltered area. The building itself was very clean and well-maintained and the individual units all seem to have alarms tied to your door entry code. If theres a downside, its that the building is not 24 hour access - but I suppose that also prevents random weirdos wandering through or just hanging out in the middle of the night. I had an upper level unit, but the elevators were extra long and also required your security code to reach your floor. I suppose its a little bit odd to suggest that the staff of a storage unit company had much to do with the positive review. Realistically, the facility by itself could probably warrant at least 4 stars on its own. However, the ESS company really seems to have their A-teamers on site. In addition to simply being knowledgable and helpful in showing the features of the building and your unit choices Ernie and Raj were just very friendly, polite, decent (and occasionally funny) guys youd probably want to hang out with in different circumstances. They went out of their way to help me meet a mover on-site when I was closing out on a Sunday, and definitely did some digging to make sure I received credit for time not used instead of just leaving a paid for, but empty, unit on hand. In general Id recommend Extra Space Storage over other storage places, and the McLean location, if you have that option. I hope this helps, Brian

Public Storage McLean: This was the best experience we have had in signing up for and using a storage locker. Over the past 3 years (a relative passed away, and we have been the caretaker for the estate’s items) we have used the U-Haul and Public Storage companies in DC. (We live on Capital Hill). These have been AWFUL! Unfriendly employees, expensive, dirty and bug ridden. We finally got fed up and spend an entire weekend inspecting and interacting with various other locations of U-Haul, Public Storage and we added ExtraSpace Storage as a possibility. We came upon the ExtraSpace Storage in McLean and met with Ernie and Raj. They were both the most affable, informative and efficient folks of ANY storage facility that we have interviewed in the past or on this exhaustive weekend foray. Ernie and Raj set us up with just the right sized locker and with a reasonable price. Ernie gave us his personal phone number so that if there were any problems - we could call him directly!!!! What a guy! I would strongly recommend the McLean ExtraSpace Storage system and Ernie and Raj in particular at that location.

I have been an Extra Space Storage customer for two years. The place is immaculate and the staff exceptionally helpful. -They truly want you to succeed with whatever you need, be it short-term or long-term storage. They are stellar representatives for their company as they go by the rules but also take into consideration customers situations. For example, I had been using a 10x20 unit at a competitors building. After having reduced the items in it, decided to move the remaining belongings over to Extra Space. -The move had to occur on a weekday and after work hours (due to my schedule). I work far from the location and knew I could not get there by 6pm. -Unsure how much space I would need, Yassir and Isai agreed to leave one 7.5x10 and one 5x5 unit open/ unlocked to ensure all items were accommodated. As it turned out, I only needed one 7.5x10 unit, called them the following day, and they took it from there. -This is just one of many kind and customer-driven acts they have done. Ernie, a former manager, was the same. These guys are truly professionals and experts in their field.

Not your average storage facility! Climate controlled, squeaky clean--everywhere, nice upbeat music to work under, good lighting, convenient hours, convenient mid-town location, knowledgeable staff, very friendly staff, very helpful staff, eager staff, ease of payment options, email notices, abundant flatbeds, easily-lifted doors, spacious indoor parking area, plenty of parking spaces--if I left anything out, it was terrific. Candidly, this operation is exactly what a storage facility should be. If anyone has had experience with other storage companies, forgetaboutit...this is the gold standard. Finally, I used my unit for a year, during which time there were several staff changes. Every one of the ESS employees were friendly and helpful to the point of friendship. Who could ask for more? Oops, forget to say how great the current staff members are....Manager Ernie and Rog! You guys are the greatest..and Ernie, a special thank you for offering to help me load up after your quitting time on a Saturday night.

Location and presentation: Extremely clean and neat. Customer service: THE BEST. We were relocating from Huntsville, AL when I called Ernie and Danny. Upon delivery of our household goods, Ernie was extremely helpful and pleasant making our storage move stress-free. Ernie stayed an extra 30 minutes to ensure that we were able to complete our move even after closing time. We realized that we needed a bigger unit and Ernie accommodated us immediately. We arrived at 1030 and we completed our move to a bigger unit by closing time. All the while, Ernie checked on us to ensure that we didnt have any additional needs. Ernie has a gentleman with a very pleasant demeanor which is exactly what customers need during stressful situations such as moving/relocating. Ernie is always very helpful and provided us with insight on local eateries and soccer leagues for our children to participate in.

To say Ernest Postego and Extra Space Storage McLean are "exceptional" doesnt quite capture the experience. They are in a class all their own. I have kept fine furniture in storage for five years in three states. No single manager, or facility, comes close to the what Ernie and this place offers. The floors are almost as clean as my dinner plates. The air is "museum-quality" and temperature controlled. The elevators, coded. Theres a fleet of new dollies and security cameras everywhere. If I owned a Picasso or Van Gogh, I might consider storing it in ESS McLean. Short of a vault with a foot-thick steel door and armed guards, security doesnt get much better than this. The waiting area looks like my sports club, and theres complimentary water and coffee! If you want the best (i.e., state-of-the art infrastructure and service "to write home about") store here. And ask for the peerless Mr. Postego.

I needed to get a storage unit asap because I had to relocate to a temporary spot and I couldn’t take my furniture and stuff, so I decided to rent a storage unit in the Mclean-Beverly location. I wasn’t sure if to get the 10x10 or the 10x15. Ernie, was nice enough to show me both units so I could figure out which one to rent. I ended up getting the larger one, plus it was right by the elevator, very convenient! The customer service is excellent! Ernie and Jesse are awesome!! Very friendly and helpful!! The facility is very clean, I like the fact that it is climate controlled and illuminated. The units have high ceilings so I was able to stack up boxes all the way to the top. And every time I go there to add more things, my stuff is in the same condition that I left it in. Overall it’s a great storage place.I definitely recommend this storage facility.
