Ive never seen worse work on any vehicle in my life, please do not take your car there. Im being 100% honest when I say letting these people touch your car can get you killed. I think these guys are all sociopaths and are very good at making people feel like theyre being treated fairly. I just totaled up $2,136 worth of receipts from Atlee Auto Service Inc. from a vehicle that I recently acquired from a very nice older couple. The people that I received this car from are genuinely fantastic human beings. They spoke volumes of how well Atlee Auto treated them and took care of their cars, but I have news folks, Ive seen the work these guys do and it is PHENOMENALLY awful. I have literally never seen the likes of the jerry-rigging these "mechanics" are capable of. I felt so bad for the previous owners that I felt a need to write a post letting people know that what you cant see WILL HURT YOU! I drove this vehicle home with a bouncing front end. It was nearly impossible to keep it inside one lane going up 95 north. This receipt here is for $550 and it includes replacing sway bar bushings which literally takes five minutes. The very first time I had this car in the air, the sway bar bushing had been removed. Not replaced, REMOVED. Also, the bolts holding the sway bar bushing bracket to the frame rail were two different sizes and WERE NOT even metric thread pitches. These clowns must have impact wrenched the wrong size bolts back into the existing factory holes. On the same receipt is a ball joint replacement and front end alignment. Let me tell you about this and how these jokers make their money: They removed the ball joint and threw the factory bolts away, which are a specific size in accordance with the holes drilled in the lower control arm. They used bolts that were literally half the diameter of the factory bolts so when they put the ball joint back on, of course the steering wheel was out of alignment! The ball joint was allowed to move inboard or outboard literally over half an inch. When I saw this under the car I got so mad I started shaking. FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS TO RUIN THE FUNCTION OF THE FRONT SWAY BAR ASSEMBLY AND INSTALL A BALL JOINT WITH THE WRONG HARDWARE. THATS DEADLY!! This next receipt, "symptoms engine revs without vehicle speed increasing" SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DOLLARS. This one I cannot attest to, I didnt see the car, but I will tell you this: I got this car for next to nothing because they were told by atlee that the transmission had gone bad. I drove down (45 mins) with literally two 13 millimeter wrenches and a can of WD40 and had the transmission working in under 10 minutes. The cable actuator that tells the transmission what to do (via throttle input) was stuck outside of its sheathing from corrosion. I took the jamb nut loose, sprayed WD40 down inside the sheath, worked the cable back and forth and its worked beautifully ever since. Id say they got hosed for $715 when all it really needed was 10 minutes and a can of WD. NEXT! $250 to replace the fuel pump relay, which they didnt even do, and didnt even do it half assed. Maybe quarter assed. I found this relay full of water hanging under the dash board. Theres a specific holder built for this relay so it is installed in such a fashion that it wont ever get water in it. Its an original unit and the previous owners were charged $70 for a new relay. It takes about 30 seconds to locate and remove this relay and it took me an additional 10 seconds to pop the cover off and pour the water out. So theres another $250 pissed away at Atlee auto. $200.04 for replacing "middle muffler and axle pipe" which is dated 7/16/2013. Yeah that literally FELL OFF under a year later. I had no sooner got this car home when I noticed the tail pipe was pointed straight at the ground. They didnt replace anything, they just welded pieces of mild steel pipe over the existing exhaust. I saw everything they did and I fixed it all for literally $30 with new genuine Starla stainless steel pipes. Please heed this warning.

Dennis, Richard, and Mark at Atlee Auto are the best in the world. I have been going to them for a few years now with my Acura TL and Chevy Tahoe and will be servicing my BMW here as well. I went to 4 places for a leak in my Acuras transmission and all places told me I needed a new transmission including the Acura dealership. Another repair shop thought they knew what it was and repaired 2 things and ended up having to refund me since it wasnt what was wrong. When i found Atlee auto through my fiance who has been going to them for over 15 years i was to say the least AMAZED. They fixed the transmission for under $100 and all was great. They are honest and really take the time to look at your vehicle and will save you money where possible or tell you how long you can go without really needing to do something on the vehicle. I will be staying with them and referring them all the time. Thank you guys!!!!

Paid $700 to repair two different issues with my vehicle. After a day of driving, both issues returned and were not fixed. This is the type of place that assesses your vehicles problems, then puts new parts on it. Thats it. Thats the whole troubleshooting process at Atlee Auto Service! I suppose that type of service works in their business model, because it assures that youll be coming back for repairs again. Ive already taken my vehicle to another shop, where they were able to identify the problems and fix them. You know... The first time, like it ought to be done. I should also state that I didnt give Atlee Auto a chance to correct the issues again. Why? Because I shouldnt have to! They got their one chance to make a good impression on me and blew it. 1/5 stars. Will not return as a customer.

I found out about Atlee Auto Service in 1998 from my neighbor Jackie Bendrick when we first moved to Mechanicsville. They were a small organization with probably the best mechanics and service staff on the entire East Coast. Our family have been extraordinarily pleased with their over-and-above service for eighteen years and have continued to be satisfied with all that they do as they have grown and expanded. We wouldnt go anywhere else. Atlee Auto Service gets our business for life.

Dennis and Richard run a great shop. They may not be the least expensive service business in the area, but they get the job done correctly and fill you in on all the ups, downs and options. We have taken cars to them for almost 15 years (yes, before they built the new, big facility) and they have done a great job with everything from our Mustang and Jeep, to our 1957 Pontiac Star Chief! Need to restore a classic? They might even be able to help some with that!.

First off, ive been working on cars for almost 10 years. Well I went in to get an alignment done on my mustang. about 20 minutes later they come to tell me I had a bolt loose on my tie rod and that it would be almost $50 to fix it. I cancelled everything and took my car home to fix it myself. I spent 30 seconds tightening that bolt, I didnt even have to jack the car up in the air! I will NEVER do business with them again. They will just try to rip you off
