I am new to the area and looking for local shop to be a regular customer. I read reviews of a couple of places and received a recommendation from a friend. Took my car in for engine light on and emissions and safety inspection expecting additional work was required for the check engine light. I have the car dropped off and receive a call later that morning informing me two items requiring work. 1. Replace the exhaust EGR valve/sensor (for check engine light) 2. Have a leak of power steering fluid and that needs to be repaired (around $400) When I inquired further about the power steering leak I asked if there is a leak why do I not see it in my garage where the car is parked every day. I was told it drips on the belt. I was pressed stating if the repair is NOT completed it will NOT pass safety inspection. I further pressed again a leak would eventually hit he floor even if it dripped on another part of the vehicle and thus on the floor and repeated again I have not seen evidence of a leak. I was then told the was a small leak but still needed to be repaired. I am not the most mechanical person but common sense here told me the hard press (wont pass inspection) was on for a repair I did not see evidence of. Told him to fix the problem I dropped it off for (check engine light) and to NOT do the inspection or emissions. I picked up the car, drove down the street and the car passed safety inspection with no issues unlike Dulles Auto Clinic informed me this leak would have to be fixed or it would NOT PASS the inspection. I will not be returning to this shop as I do not appreciate the push for services that are NOT needed. I still see no sign of any type of fluid leak. I would suggest ask questions about suggested work being performed.

I was recommended Dulles Auto Clinic by a Collegue of my wife. My 2005 Nissan Altima was in dire need of a "car doctor", with Brakes and Rotors worn off, Drive Belt having cracks and Hub being wasted. I took the car to Dulles Auto Clinic and told them about the problems, as well as to identify anything else that may be wrong with the car. With in couple of hours I got a call with estimate of $1014.25. I was also able to use a VALPAK coupon (Also available online) of $50 off bringing down the total to 964.25. The entire fix was done within a days time and I also got the State Inspection done!!! I took my car for test drive to West Virginia, and felt my car as good as new!!! Its been almost 2 years since my car was not feeling that new (yes I bought it brand new with 8 miles on the odometer, and it reads 74,000 plus right now). I am glad that I took advice of my wifes collegue and took it to Dulles Auto Clinic. Wayne is my man for any car issues from this point on. I am taking my Toyota Corrolla next weekend for brakes. Hope it helps.

I see he got his friends to review this place but this place in reality is a BIG RIP OFF! VERY CROOKED AND DISHONEST! Be aware if you dont know about cars they will take advantage of you I would suggest going else where. Took my 2006 Taurus there came out with a bill for $2000 they said the back breaks need to be replaced and the cost......$800 just the back breaks i thought to my self its a ford its not a 2017 Bentley the break pads better be made out of gold lol they tried to scare me by saying the tires are ready to come off I commute 120 miles everyday nothing wrong with it he tried to tell me you know that shake when you drive I thought to my self what shake also told me there was a leak there was no leak. Anyway took it else where the car was perfectly fine just let you compare I had the timing belt water pump and alternator done for $750 under the price of what it would cost to do just the breaks there lol these guys are the reason why mechanics get a bad rap typical.

This shop is fantastic compared to a lot of the other local shops. I WAS questioning one of the repairs they suggested, because I had it at another shop the day before and they didnt mention the broken bulb in their inspection. They took me back and had the broken bulb still and I checked it myself and at the end of the day I actually believe that the other place was just that incompetent with their inspect and service that they missed the light. For good faith they didnt charge me for the bulb and I changed it myself back to the good bulb. The guy at the desk took it a little personal that I questioned the bulb in the first place but from my point of view it was a little strange to have it go out within a 10 mile drive. I highly recommend coming to these guys and get a fair appraisal of your cars repair needs.

I have been taking my personal and company vehicles to Wayne & the team at Dulles Auto Clinic for about 7 years. They always provide great service and honest advice and opinions about what needed to be fixed, and what could safely wait. I trust Dulles Auto Clinic to keep my companys fleet on the road, and to keep my 10 year old Suburban running like a champ. Theyve got free WiFi, a clean (and shockingly nice) bathroom, and snack machines - so if you are waiting for your car you can be productive & comfortable. Dunkin Donuts is just across the street, which is nice too. :-) Overall, I would recommend Dulles Auto Clinic to anyone in the Reston, Herndon, Sterling, Ashburn, and Chantilly areas. Its well worth the drive to go to these guys.

As a resident of Fairfax county since 1972 I have come across many mechanics in that time. Most were very personable and offered to do a good job for a fair price and at first they would but over time there would be an issue that would cause us to part ways. Ive known Wayne since I wandered into his shop for a safety inspection in 1996 and after I spoke with a few of his mechanics I began to bring my vehicles for him to service. 13 years and 0 complaints later I am still coming to DAC for everything from oil changes to engine replacements. P.S.Oddly, for an Auto shop, in his waiting room they have the nicest cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in a commercial business outside of the hospitality industry.

Very pleased with my experience here today. Staff (Wayne especially) was highly professional and was thorough with explaining services offered and services needed. In addition, they went out of their way to accommodate my transportation while my vehicle was being serviced etc. Its difficult to find a trusted shop and to feel comfortable with a first visit when youre less knowledgeable about vehicles in general like myself, however, this shop made that happen. I will be returning for future services for sure.

Great shop! Took my truck trying to get it to pass emissions. Ended up being a more involved repair than I initially thought, but thats life with a 12 year old vehicle! Dulles Auto Clinic did a great job, and I felt they did an accurate assessment of the problems and did only what was needing to be done. Very pleased with the service, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to others in the area.
