I had a no-start situation with my car in early 2009. I had the car towed to this shop after talking to Devon on the phone. Devon was articulate, spoke English well, and could talk "shop". I got a call from Devon indicating that the distributor was bad and that the technition had pulled a code from the diagnostic machine. Devon could not indicate if the code was from the ECU in the car or if it was a fault that the technician had discovered while running through the diagnostics workflow. Devon indicated that I had a bad sensor. A non-serviceable part that requires replacement of a significant portion of the distributor to replace. We spoke about using OE parts and aftermarket parts and I agreed to go with an aftermarket distributor since its cost was as much as a portion of a new OE distributor and I could be garaunteed that I wouldnt pay a lot of money only to discover that they had misdiagnosed the damaged part. This is when the trouble started. Initially the parts supply sent, or they ordered, the wrong part. The next day they replaced the distributor and I picked the car up. The car developed a misfire issue over the course of the following week so I took it back. They said they had set the base timing wrong. Took the car back and the same thing happened the next day. I took the car back and they told me that I had worn spark plugs. This was true, but they had never been an issue with the OE distributor on the car prior. I let them replace the spark plugs, asking that they put in what the manual calls for. Several days later, the same misfire issue came back. I ended up in the cold and dark running diagnostics on the distributor myself only to find that the problem was a $100 part easily replaced in 15 minutes. I took the car to another shop to confirm my diagnosis and provide some evidence for the ensuing round of arguments I knew were comming. The second shop also alerted me to the fact that only 3 of the 4 spark plugs in the car were new and that the plugs were not what I had asked them to install. Long story short. Devon suddenly dissapeared. He no longer worked there. He was replaced by his wife who seems to conveniently only understand so much of what you are saying. After weeks of phone calls, visits to the shop, and failures to mail me a check that she assured me was in the mail, I finally threatened a charge back through my credit card. The check showed up that week. The post mark still showed that she didnt mail it when she said she did. To top it all off, one night I was there to complain, I ran into another guy in the parking lot. I told him to find another shop if he could. It turns out that he was also there to complain about some issues as well. Overall, incompetant, inept, ineeficient, and unprofessional. I should have just towed the car to my house, done the work myself, and saved myself the headache.

Very sneaky and unprofessional. I brought my car in for an inspection. They said the inspector said there were issues that needed to be repared. I had them repaired and still failed my inspection. I later found out that they had no inspecter on staff that day, they had their uncertified mechanic look over the car to see any potential repairs. Once repaired they drove my car to another service center to have it inspected and that inspector failed it. I received lie after lie from these people with no resolution. I still dont know the repairs I paid for that did not really need to be repaired.

On the recommendation of a neighbor, I took my Chevy Avalanche to Sterling Automotive. A mechanic at another shop had told me I needed to replace ball joints and that my transmission had problems. Turns out I only needed a universal joint. The mechanics checked it over thoroughly and were happy to put it back up on the lift to show me exactly what the problem was. They got me back on the road quickly and at a fair price. Sean and Peter were very easy to work with. I really appreciate their honesty.

I have been using Sterling Automotive for the past six months and could not be happier. I have been adding aftermarket upgrades on my Lexus IS300 and the customer service and quality work they have provided are amazing. Finding an auto shop in this area that will deal with you fairly has been a challenge for me. Shawn and Peter always give me quality work at a great price. I will not trust my car with anyone else and recommend Sterling Auto to all of my friends.

Things have definitely changed since about 2-3 years when this place apparently underwent an ownership change. These guys arent the cheapest car repair shop around, but they use genuine, warrantied parts, and they are honest with you about everything. I got my bumper replaced recently and never felt I was being taken to the cleaners -- the way I feel at some other places, and they did a heckuva job as well. This is a place worth checking out.

We also provide free check engine light code scanning for all customers. Based on our records we cannot find any occurance that one of our customers was charged for suspension diagnostics in the past few years.

My wife and I have a "go to" place for our cars. Sterling Automotive Service Center. Everyone that works there is friendly and honest. The work is the highest caliber around here. Sean (the man) is the most patient, even tempered man weve ever dealt with. And again, honest. Give this establishment your business. You wont regret it.

I went in to get my oil changed and it went pretty smoothly. But the best part was that when I asked them to take a look at my brakes, they told me that I should probably get them re-checked in about 10,000 miles. Finally, a place that wont rip you off in order to make a quick buck on the spot. Ill be back.

They broke the lug nut off on my car then they told me I have to pay $89.99 an hour for them to TRY and get it off. They are the worst Ive never felt so disrespected. I feel as if business was slow that day so they were looking to add some extra cash to there pockets sense they werent making anything.

Was told by another service center I needer about $1500 worth of work done to my Infiniti. Took it to Shawn on the recommendation of a friend and had the work done for $400... Drove the car for about 10 months before I sold it and never had another problem with it. Great place with honest people.

Was referred here for an inspection after getting my car pass worthy, just a few minutes theres one in front of you. An hour later my car was just taken back. Owners buddy seemed to get priority, and 2 others paid & left. Workers seem to be socializing at bays more than working this afternoon.
