New to the area wanted to replace the stock mufflers on my vehicle for better sound. $576 seemed a bit high for swapping two mufflers but maybe not for Sterling, VA. Flowmasters were recommended but I declined due to them being too loud for me, I’ve used them on other vehicles. I went with the Magnaflows because they’re quieter yet still noticeable (have used them too). After the job was done I noticed the car was louder than expected, I got underneath and saw the racing type (round) mufflers were installed. When I asked why these were and not the ovals as expected, I was told they are the only Magnaflow mufflers that fit on this vehicle. This vehicle is fairly new to me so I accepted this explanation but later spoke with other mechanics including other Meineke shops, and found that statement to be false. The exterior sound is acceptable but the interior droning noise is deafening. When returning to the shop the following morning and asking for my stock mufflers to be put back on, I’m told they were gone, taken in the trash. Fairly new Dodge Challenger SRT8 stock mufflers with less than 9000k miles…gone (hmm). Lastly when offering to bring my own parts and they cover the labor he told me he couldn’t (wouldn’t). I guess they didn’t want or need my business. Not my best car repair shop experience, not my worse. Is this shop a little shady? I’ll leave it up to you to decide. The technicians were hospitable and pleasant, even gave me a ride the first day, however… Overall I would rate this shop as inexperienced, suspicious, and unprofessional (unwilling to fix a mistake).

I took the car for squeaking noise coming from the front brake. They replaced both front and rear brake pads. After a few days, I was constantly hearing the squeaking noise coming from the rear brake whenever I stepped on the brake and then move. I took the car in to the shop and they cleaned and readjusted the brake and the noise was gone. However, next day it started all over again. I took the car in again and they now told me that I needed to replace the rear drums for $270! At this point, I couldnt trust them anymore and took the car to another shop. The other shop told me that there was a big gap between the pad and the drum causing the squeaky sound all the time. They readjusted and cleaned the rear brake. Im not hearing the noise anymore. Yes, like the other review, they used to be good, but now, their service has gone down terribly and above all, they are not trustworthy! I dont think that I needed to replace my rear brake pads in the first place because the guy who inspected said that only the front brake was bad. Anyhow, I will never go back to this place again!

I am not sure if I should give even one star rating, but they not only over charged me for a simple break job which was earlier done by another mechanic for way lesser price, but took me about half-a-dozen trips, each time, spending on average about 4 hours at the shop causing me a great inconvinience. All it was is to change the inferior break pads put by the other mechanic, because of which the rear drums were making noise. Instead of focusing on rear durms, Mineke folks kept doing their research on my front disc breaks to the extent putting new rotors and changing almost all the parts before finally giving up on front and moving to rear breaks. It is not over yet, the noise has gone after they changed the rear break pads, but started making knocking sound, which they assured me is not any issue. I had to insist that I will not take my vehicle until it is gone to get that fixed. Good experience learnt from a "professional break repair shop".

Horrible service and very unprofessional. I came to fix my AC blower. In my car. They told to bring in car next day and service will take 2 hours. No one called to follow up with me next day. They told me no one is available to drop the part from parts dealer and they need to pick it themselves. I dropped my car for service 4-5 hours later. When I returned, after dodging and delaying they told me they have wrong part and it cant be installed until 2 days later. No regard for customers time and made excuses and tried to justify it happens and had crappy explanation "weather man predicts rain but it doesnt rain sometimes". "World isnt perfect". If your shop and service is like the unpredictable weather. Why shoulf anyone come to your shop when you take payments and cant deliver. Go somewhere that values custoner and offers reliable servise. Poorly managed small business.

Had trouble with my turbo and after pulling the code for free at an Autozone I wanted to have a more detailed diagnostic so I went there. Following their diagnostic (which was probably just connecting a scanner and pulling the CEL code and charging me 90$ for 1h of wait on that) ... they said I should change the whole turbo (i knew already the code and the fact that turbos rarely fail and need to be replaced entirely). In the end went somewhere else and got replaced a valve (the code was even indicating that as a possible cause) and it all worked great and for a lot less. Will not go back there again...

I made an appointment for 2pm to replace an outer tie-rod but after repeatedly telling me it will be another hour I only got my car back at 7:30pm, an hour and a half after they officially close. They did apologize for the delays and offered to do some extra work free of charge. They wee also the lowest quote around. So while the wait was irritating, I think the customer service and affordability make it a good place to go.

i purchased a car from a man who claimed this shop redid the brakes at 182k miles. now my car is at 188k and the pads are down to the metal, which leads me to beleive that this shop didnt even do the work at all. the record of the work is on the carfax of my car also. this shop is incompetent. my home garage is a better working environment. please dont waste your money here.

Excellent, affordable service. They went out of their way to make sure my vehicle was squared away. Got two upper ball joints replaced, and an e-brake adjustment very quickly. The staff was professional and are clearly experts in their field. I recommend to anyone in the area. Thanks guys.

I was very pleased with the level of service. Howard was very accommodating to my schedule and worked efficiently to fix my brakes. He and his crew did a great job. I am very happy with the service and will definitely go back. I would recommend this Meineke service center to other people.

Took my 1999 car in for a total check up and tune up. They did a reasonable job but for the most part it seemed like they did a thorough inspection of everything. Changed the oil, flushed the transmission and the car is running great. I will take it back there for anything else I need.

The service is terrible, took my car in for brake inspection and they failed to catch balding inner tire that was huge safety concern. Asked them to do safety and emissions inspection, just did emissions it was like talking to a 4 year old. Lost my business!!!
