VL Carter is one of the most professional and fiendly shops in Nine Mile road. They serviced my vehicles for the past year and on more than one occasion I was absolutely delighted, if somewhat surprised, at the great service, honesty and efficiency that is hard to find in most other service centers. They always treat me with utmost professionalism and respect, and Greg is the best specialist Ive had - no problem seems too big (nor needing some inexplicable small fortune to fix) and the cars simply run without ever needing to go back or to complain to get proper service. Having known my share of service centers for whom my needs just did not seem all that important, its truly refreshing to find a place that simply does it right, first time. Having spoken to a couple of other customers I met there, I am very sure my experience is not unique and will recommend VL Carter always.

I actually thought this place was ok to get repairs done. My second visit at this shop they told me I might have needed a new engine when in reality I just needed a water pump. Even if these guys were afraid my timing chain would slip I would have added the timing chain on to the bill not pay $4700.00 for a new engine. This city is full of people who scam. I was ready to invest 600 to $1000.00 bucks and they still want more smh. No one wants to spend a fortune on used cars but some of us will spare the right amount for good quality. I guess when they cant find nothing wrong with your car they tell you your engine is gone. My engine is at 99% accurate other mechanics told me I had a good engine. I hate how shops like V.L. Carter scam on good customers. I wouldnt recommend you to do business with this shop!

I would not recommend this place. Took my car there to get a part replaced and got it back in worse condition. There is now a distinct squealing sound from the engine anytime the car goes above 20 mph. My tire pressure was 31 PSI which is slightly above the recommendations of the manufacturer and they filled them to 50 PSI before I got it back (and lectured me on how low they were). Just because a tires max PSI is 55 DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD FILL IT THAT MUCH.

Took my car there last week brought it in for one problem which required a part needing to be replaced. Not only did it not get replaced cause they claim the wrong part was brought in but my car was in worse condition than what it originally was. Only thing they have good there is their towing. Use their towing to take your car ELSEWHERE!!
