Brought my 2005 Honda Civic in because the car was jerking back and forth. At the time we thought it was a slipping clutch, so they charged me 900 bucks to replace my clutch, even though it had been put in brand new when I first bought the car from the dealer a few years back and the clutch barely had 30k miles on it (these things are supposed to last up to 80-100k miles). Two weeks later the SAME EXACT problem happened again, so I took it in thinking they would do the reasonable thing and fix it at no charge, since I had already shelled out 900 bucks and they didnt end up fixing the problem I paid for. No such luck--they charged me 300 bucks to replace the ignition coil. That seemed to fix the problem for a while, but three weeks later the SAME EXACT problem happened again. Im not calling these guys crooks, but boy do they seem incompetent, and they refuse to take any responsibility for their failure to fix your problem. They seem more than happy to let you eat the cost of unnecessary repairs. If you need something simple like an oil change, or fluid flush, they seem OK, but STAY AWAY if you need any real repairs done. Long story short, these guys arent fooling me a third time. Ill be looking for a new mechanic to finally fix this problem. EDIT: Ive since come to find out they way overcharged me on labor after consulting AutoMD and some REPUTABLE mechanics in the area. It appears they charged me for two hours of labor on replacing the ignition coil when the industry standard time is 0.4 hours. It also appears they overcharged me on the clutch replacement. Ill be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Response from the owner (in the last week): "Mr. Soares, I am sorry that you have been having so much car trouble however these attacks on my company are childish...." RESPONSE TO OWNER: I am so happy the business owner replied to my review, as I think it perfectly sums up their attitude and my frustrating experience with them to date. Theyre the business and youre just the annoying customer, so clearly theyre always right. And if you attempt to exhaust every legal means of dispute resolution before pursuing civil action youre clearly being "childish." I am not exactly sure what they are considering "inappropriate" but if they provide something in particular they disagree with and some facts to back their position, I would be more than happy to edit my response. However, I have told them exactly what they need to do to resolve this dispute to my satisfaction and they have refused to do that. Until that happens, this review stays where it is. Im sure they have plenty of happy customers, but if they perform some service that youre unhappy with, can you be certain theyre going to resolve it to your satisfaction? Is that a chance youre willing to take on them?

Over priced parts and uninformed staff. I went in because my engine would shake at idle and was running rough, I suspected it was misfiring. They charged me $125 to do a diagnostic which concluded that it was misfiring exactly as I had informed them when I dropped it off. Then they tried to charge me $1280 to replace the ignition coils and spark plugs on my Honda fit. After calling around and doing some price comparisons I called them back and he explained that their computer system was messed up that the new price would be $850. These guys will try to over charge you if they think they can get away with it and when you call them out they will make up BS excuses. They tried to tell me that it was expensive because the part was coming directly from Honda but after contacting Honda they told me that they do not make either the coils or the spark plugs, they are made by a brand called Hitachi. I still had faith in Wiygul at this point and called them back trying to figure out why the price was so expensive and they just had more BS to tell me and still insisted that the parts they were installing were from Honda and that is why they were so expensive. One of three things is true: 1) they do not know what they are doing and dont have the wherewithal to recognize that $1200 is too much for coils and plugs, 2) they are intentionally trying to scam customers to make a few extra bucks, 3) they are getting their parts from an extremely over priced source. Additionally, when I went to pick up the vehicle, where I politely paid my $125 mandatory diagnostic fee, the front desk worker, Charlie, was extremely short, rude, and would not answer my questions about why the quote was so expensive. I suspect that management told him to not say anything to me. Long story short: in my two different dealings with them this shop has always given me significantly overpriced quotes. Im taking it to another shop where they use OEM parts as well and will have all the work done (as well as a free oil change) for $550 out the door instead of the $1200 that this Wiygul tried to charge me.

A couple of months ago when I was at my Acura dealer for routine service they told me my TL needed a front-end alignment and quoted $165 to get the work done then and there. The price sounded a little much to me (verified by my friend the Acura salesman) so I decided to look elsewhere. Today I found myself a few days short of leaving for a very long road trip and remembered the alignment still needed to be addressed. I had received a mailer the day before from Wiygul so I called and inquired, was quoted $109 and told I could wait for the car if I liked. So today I dropped the car off and went to lunch with friends. When I returned a couple of hours later the Customer representative had a bunch of colorful printouts to show me as he explained that only one of my four wheels (yes, Acuras align on all four) was the slightest off and that so insignificantly it was hardly worth addressing - although they had. When I asked how much he said "Nothing. We dont charge for these types of inspections. There is nothing to charge for." I walked in thinking I was saving $56. I walked out having saved $165. I cant (yet) speak to the excellence of the work that Wiygul does because due to their honesty none was performed. Ill let you all know in future because these are my car guys from here on out. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. Oh, did I mention that my family has been buying cars from the Acura dealer for more than 20 years and having them all serviced there? I had a great deal of faith and trust in them. Now Im wondering just how much my loyalty to them has cost us.Thank you Wiygul! You earned a new customer the hard way: by doing nothing and being extremely honest about it. Im now wishing I had something that needed repair. I suppose that will come soon enough. -Richard Harrison

I had a horrible experience with Wiygul Automotive Clinic, Herndon. I will never ever go there or suggest anyone to go there. They kept my car for the entire day just for oil change and regular check. I kept on asking them about the time estimate and they told me we will inform you when it is done. I dont understand that being in this business for so long dont they know how long will it take to change oil and do a regular check? After the oil change neither my car is accelerating as it used to be and nor the AC is working properly. I dont know what they have done to my car and I am wondering how oil change can affect these two. On top of that, they told me there were multiple problems with my car and gave me an estimate of $2,481 including the labor. One of their recommendation was to replace rear motor mount. They gave me a quote of $509 for that. When I took a quote from another mechanic I got a quote of $172 for the same thing. Were they expecting me to fall in their trap and pay $337 extra. Not only their labor is too expensive but also the markup price on parts is way too high. Is this what they have opened the shop for? To rip off their customers. Probably, they thought being from out of state I had no idea about the market here. Apart from everything they even cant record the facts correctly. According to them the odometer in was 122382 but actually it was something around 127,323. I think they did it on purpose to avoid their claim of "warranty on all parts and labor is 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first". I would have not been so angry if they had only given me the higher quote but what they have done with my car has really left me disappointed.
