Decided to try this shop simply off the reviews online, and I definitely wont be making that mistake again. We brought in our car for diagnostic on the check engine light and they blew it out of proportion to go as far as saying we had a junk engine and EVERYTHING needed to be replaced. To change a belt that was causing the check engine light to come on was a grand total price of $1500. Our car is very well maintained, even spoiled, and certainly not junk. This particular issue was solved by us with a total cost of $50 and some elbow grease. (The only reason we had gone to the mechanic in the first place is because it is a foreign car and we wanted to make sure everything was in tip top shape and it wasnt something major.) I would not recommend this shop to anyone as they tried to overcharge and mislead us about the condition of our car, while talking down to us like we were complete idiots, I cant imagine what they get away with on a daily basis.

Thank you tons Gig Harbor Automotive!! I had new brakes put on my 2004 Honda Accord in 2013 from AMCO. They squeaked horribly off & on right after they were done. AMCO re-looked @ them & told me they were fine & that it would take a little to break them in. Then I had So. Tacoma HONDA take a look at them when it was in for the 75,000 mile service. Again, told there was nothing wrong. The problem became worse & worse until I finally called So. Tacoma Way Honda. They wanted $1,000 to "diagnose" the problem & then quoted me for breaks & tie rods but didnt want to make repairs w/o my agreeing to replacing a timing belt (which I didnt need); a total of approximately $3,500 in repair. You diagnosed my issue of AMCO installing the WRONG brake parts on my car & did a $90,000 mile service for $1,956. Thank you so much for being honest and saving me $ 2,545!!!!!

Would give a MINUS 5 if possible as they are excellent SCAM ARTISTS! They have ripped off my elderly parents a couple of times before we got involved and saw what was happening. Tried to get them to make things right, but they wouldnt. Took the car and receipts to another honest mechanic in town, and they were shocked to see what had been done. DO NOT GO HERE - they dont fix your vehicle and charge you a lot to boot!

My car had several problems (corroded brakes from launching a boat, an A/C that output hot air, a broken gear selector indicator) and it was not only repaired, but it was done two days early! Quick, thorough and efficient. ... and from a later service: fast, friendly, fair and thorough. They found and fixed a faulty ignition coil (and changed my oil while they were at it)... in one afternoon.

Dropped off car (had appointment) for diagnosis of issue, expected estimate by phone followed by repair. They called with estimate and said I would have to make another appointment and return another day for actual service, even though I didnt need it back right away. Went to dealership for repairs and it was $400 cheaper than GH Auto.

Lied through their teeth trying to rip my family off... A $57 Wheel Bearing was going to be $650 just for the part, then they added on an extra hour of labour. The bill was going to be $1100. I got the job done from an HONEST mechanic for $300. Never, EVER, will go there again !
