Yes, its true. They refuse to take any responsibility for any mistakes they make and this includes the broker. We know this first hand. We recently sold and bought a house using a Van Dorm agent, Nancy Berry. When we listed our house, we told her that we wanted to take our refrigerator with us and the listing info reflected that. However, when she brought us an offer, she neglected to mention the fact that the buyers are wanting the refrigerator and in the excitement of getting an offer, my husband and I didnt notice that a tiny check mark had been placed next to the refrigerator on the purchase and sales agreement. We signed the document not knowing we were agreeing to give up our fridge. We take responsilbity for not reading the fine print but feel that she also had the responsibility to inform us that the buyers are wanting something we wanted to keep. After we moved into the new house, she called us and told us that the buyers are entitled to our refrigerator -- to our surprise. At first she admitted her role in this and was going to buy a new one for the buyers. And then she changed her mind and told us it was ALL our responsibility because we had signed off on it and that we had to return the refrigerator to the buyers. We asked her to pay 25% of the cost of a new refrigerator. She refused and took no responsibility for her role in the mix-up and her broker, Jeff Pust, backed her. So, we are left out in the cold -- so to speak. Please dont let that happen to you. If you ever use this agent, be very, very careful. Not only does she not NOT take responsibility for her mistakes, she couldnt answer our questions much of the time. When we asked her questions about real estate transactions, like timelines, etc., her typical answer was "let me ask the broker." She knew we had to sell our house first before we could buy another one. And yet, she allowed the closing date on the house we are buying to come before the closing date on the house we are selling. We are the ones who caught this error and reminded her that the dates need to be changed. I mean, shouldnt she have known that already?

In the last 10 years, I have made 3 real estate transactions; two purchases and one sale. All three of these were handled with excellence by Paul Klenk and Van Dorm. Each transaction had its own unique challenges, but each was given expert attention, care and professionalism. Paul is friendly and listens to his clients wants and needs. His "no pressure" sales approach is refreshing and he makes his clients feel comfortable and at ease, even when dealing with a complicated transaction. He is very knowledgeable is also resourceful in finding accurate information when the need arises. I would highly recommend Paul and Van Dorm to ANYONE in the area needing real estate services.

Nice company, easy access, good parking, friendly service. We used Paul Klenk, a wonderful realtor. Hes gone way above the call of duty for us. As an out of town buyer, we needed someone with exceptional communication skills, Paul was just the guy. Paul was able to give us info from schools to repairmen. He would run out and film properties we were interested in which helped us see the properties without being there. We picked a foreclosed property (eek!) a whole lotta work for poor Paul. When we were stressing, Paul kept a cool head and made things work. I hope he never retires, wed never use anyone else. Thanks Paul!

I bought a house from them. It took longer then expected to close. The brooker they used at Chicago title and loan is not very good. I had to find out information about the properties that they should have known before I singed the papers. I dont know if its because the house was a HUD home thats why everything went wrong but all I got to say is do your homework on the house you buy because at the end of the day its your money not theres.

Mary Reynolds is awesome... she works fast and returns call quickly. She worked with us when we were overseas and even when the deal fell thru she was more than happy to work with us again. Now we have the perfect house in record time, 2 weeks from the offer till closing
