I had water running into the basement from the control knobs of the shower..I called Beacon plumbing and Jesus came to my rescue. Jesus examined my issue from both upstairs in the bathroom and the basement and determined that the there was NO need to break into the wall to fix the problem as i was previously told. He began the task by attempting to remove the control knobs which was installed in 1972...he needed specialty tools then realized that the pipes were plastic. He immediately stated that the issue was a worn steel bearing and that before he began the actual removal that because of the corrosion and the thinness of the plastic pipes that damage could occur which would then require entering the walls for repair and then asked me to make the decision as to whether or not to proceed...i fully understood and gave my consent to proceed. I watched Jesus tackle this task and he was MASTERFUL. Both knobs were removed and sure enough the pipes were plastic. He also observed how flimsy the shower head appeared and stated this shower head is entirely to large for pipes and we had a heavy plastic hanging unit dangling off the shower head. Jesus, said i only hope the pipe is not cracked. After replacing the knobs he then tested the dripping issue both upstairs and in the basement...this problem was solved. He had the shower head removed and capped the pipe to make sure there was no other issue. Jesus then removed the cap to allow the water to flow through the extended shower pipe NO ISSUES...and then he provided me the option of reusing the heavy shower head i had or replace with a lighter one. He then placed the old shower head in my left hand and the replacement in my right hand so that i could feel the difference...JESUS included me in the entire process in such a manner that if the pipes had been compromised i would have had full understanding and visual confirmation of what had occurred BUT with his experience and technical know how i was spared that additional cost. Jesus truly is an EXCELLENT representative for the Beacon plumbing and he does take the time to develop a trusting relationship with the customer so that i never felt that i was being taken advantage of. THANK YOU, Jesus...THANK YOU for being a fair, honest, thorough plummer.

I am a dentist in the Pike Place Market and I had a backed up drain line that was leaking unto my floor. I needed this to be taken care of so I could serve my patients the next day. I called Beacon Plumbing and Brent and Stan were there within 1/2 hour. The dispatcher let me know right away that the cost to assess the problem would be $75 and if I chose, they would fix it the same day. She was very clear, concise and professional. She emphasized that they would take care the my problem that day. I really appreciated that. Brent and Stan were very professional, pleasant, very competent plumbers as well as being great communicators. They told me what it would cost ahead of time and they honored that estimate. The equipment that they used to snake the plugged line was modern, well maintained and relatively quiet. They protected the bamboo floor with a good heavy mat. Even though the snake had to go quite a ways down the line to unclog the blockage they accomplished the job in about 15-20 minutes. Brent and Stan place a new clean out plug and sealed the clean out properly. There was a small leak in an accordion type of P-trap underneath a sink and they replaced that in a few minutes AND DID NOT CHARGE ME EXTRA!!! Super quick service for what I called them for and saw another problem and fixed it for free!!! I have all ready told the maintenance crew here at the Pike Place Market what a great job Brent and Stan did so I am sure they will be calling Beacon to help out with plumbing issues they need help with here at the Market. It takes a lot of work to keep these old Pike Place Market buildings in good repair so I am sure they will be happy to send a lot of business to Beacon Plumbing. AND if you want an exceptional experience, ask for Brent and Stan. You guys are the Best!! Thanks, Kent de Vigne, DDS

Called up Beacon after 2 other plumbing companies (including Best) gave us a near $1000 estimate for replacing the ball valve on our units own water shutoff. Beacon sent out Jeff McCoy and his apprentice Israel, and the experience was amazing and hilarious. Israel is well-spoken and easy to talk to, and McCoys sense of humor is just awesome. I think they both understand that 80% of the time theyre on the job, the person theyre working with doesnt want to have to think about mucking with their pipes and fixtures and just wants it all done. Beacon came out to the house for a standard quote, which costs $75 + tax. That might seem steep but that price is deducted from your final bill, so its actually not too bad. McCoy kept spirits high and commiserated with me regarding my HOA (who was demanding the repair be done), and just made the entire first experience more enjoyable than stressful. The quote for Beacon came in under $700, and the final bill was $633. WAY under what other local plumbers quoted us, and cheaper = better especially given the quality of the work. The second visit, the actual repair, was set for 4 hours. Beacon was done in just under 2. McCoy and Israel worked quick, cracked jokes, and struck up a fast conversation about one of my preferred shooter games as they waited for dispatch to ring me up. When the job was done they let me know the proper way to restore water to the unit, gave me their card and told me to call if things looked strange after things were back in action. These two guys are completely awesome and if something else in my home springs a leak (though I hope it doesnt) theyll be the first duo I call to come out and look at it. You want a job done right and good spirits during the repair? Call McCoy and Israel at Beacon.

I had written to beacon plumbing directly through their website about a week ago. They havent responded. BE WARNED, these guys will take advantage of you. I was charged at least double what any reputable plumbing service would charge. Below is the letter I sent, that they didnt bother to respond to. Hello, I just wanted you to know that I am pretty bummed out by service you provided me this past Memorial Day. My brother & I had been working on remodeling my bathroom and after putting in the floor tiles which raised the floor about half an inch and we werent sure we should install the toilet ourselves. So we called you. Ive heard you mentioned on KPLU a lot and figured you were good people. Im not upset about the work that was done, Im upset by what I was charged. I was charged a total of $690 and that was with a $50 web coupon that the plumber mentioned when he told me the cost. I have had another plumber and 2 separate contractors at my house since then and they all gasped when I told them the cost that you charged me. They said the work was done right but they said it was preposterous that you charged me what you did. I understand you dont charge by the hour, but your plumber was here for less than 2 hrs total and each professional that has been here since tells me that I was taken advantage of. I was desperate for help and you guys came and helped me, Im thankful for that. But I cant get it out of my head that I think you guys took me for a chump and charged me way too much for the job. I believe if you have a problem with someone or a business, the right thing to do is to tell them directly and not talk behind their back. So I havent gone to Yelp or other places, Im just going to you. Thanks for taking the time to read my email.
