We have never had this happen before in a move (and weve moved a number of times), but our nanny had $1000 -$1200 cash go missing 2 hours into our move while the furniture was being moved & the trucks were being loaded. She was in tears and we had to stop the move, have a very awkward meeting with the crew, have 2 supervisors out, file a police report, etc. and then continue with the rest of the move. It was a nightmare. There were 6 guys on the crew and likely only one involved in the theft, which in a lot of ways made it worse. To be fair, the crew was otherwise very good and in fact we even tipped them b/c it didnt seem fair to stiff all 6 when only one was likely involved. But this loss of money is mind-boggling and extremely violating. Of course she shouldnt have left that amount of cash unsecured but we all know how chaotic it is preparing for a move and unfortunately, sometimes things like this slip your mind. Anyhow, I didnt want to post a review to this effect until Id given Hansen Bros. the opportunity to do something about it other than say "sorry, just file a police report," but unfortunately weve heard nothing from them since the move. We reimbursed our nanny for the loss b/c we feel responsible for putting her in this situation - we selected the movers after all. But its very disappointing that Hansen Bros hasnt otherwise stepped up to try to make things right. No offer of a discount, no offer of a credit for a future move, no offer to split the loss, nothing. I feel like there was more they could have done and, were I in their shoes, I certainly would have.

4.95 stars! Crew was super nice though and my furniture was well treated. They dealt with a lot of stairs without losing steam and without hitting my walls, lights or furniture ever. Id both recommend them and use them again myself! This was a Seattle to Seattle same day move. Update from Original Below: Immediately after posting what I did below (which Id also sent to the company on their internal feedback form many days earlier), I was contacted by the owner who fixed the situation. 2 guys came out today to move my bookshelf to its intended location free of charge and all is well in the world. Very courteous guys again who did the move, and everyone this entire time was very professional. In reality, I never dealt with anyone unprofessional -- in fact, I think we were all just tired after a long long day of moving (9 hrs) and lots of stairs and we all forgot to do the final walkthrough on placement - I did all but the basement room without prompting but I shouldve done more. Original: The guys didnt put a bookcase where I asked them to after it wouldnt fit where I originally thought. They moved one but not both of the bookcases that wouldnt fit (and left the one that didnt fit on its side in a room it cant stand up in so now I need friends to come help me move it). I shouldve double checked but forgot after a very long day.

For the third time since moving to Seattle many years ago...I chose Hansen Bros. to move me and my stuff. Each move was expertly done...from the original meeting and look over to the final moving day. This most recent move, from Seattle to Issaquah was just a wonderful experience. The young men were efficient, courteous and a pleasure to work with. They worked quietly and respectful of one another and of us. They did a walkaround prior to packing up...and a walkaround at our new home before beginning the unloading process. They were relaxed and accommodating...and quite tolerant of our somewhat tense behavior...which is normal when rugs and furniture dont exactly fit the way you expected. Its also important to say that they provided enough personnel to accomplish the move with great efficiency. They adapted to our changes...with good humor and unlimited patience. And what is also worth noting...is that their efficiency brought the final cost under the original estimate. How often does that happen in business transactions these days? I wish there was a 10-star rating because that is what they deserve. If youre moving...go with Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage.

My moving crew, consisting of John, Robert, and Sonny, performed in a laudable fashion, and should be personally commended by Hansen Bros. management. I write this as a veteran of many moves, both domestic and international, and rank this Hansen Bros. move as the best I have undertaken. The move-out was a complex one, given the architectural design of the building, but John organized the team and each person worked long and hard in getting our furniture out of the building. Fortunately, the move-in portion was less demanding, but the team still gave its all, despite the long hours they had already worked. John made useful suggestions regarding placement of furniture, and was extremely helpful in that regard. I saw less of Robert and Sonny as they were handling the out-of-apartment portion, but the teamwork that they exhibited showed how intensely they all worked for the common good. I specifically ask that you bring my comments to the attention of John, Robert, and Sonny, and I take great delight in knowing of the presence of Hansen Bros. should another move be in my future.

My mother passed away the end of January and as a result I had two pieces of furniture that I wanted to keep as a reminder of my Mom and my childhood. Mom and Grandma always went through every antique and junk shop looking for "Gems" whenever we would go visit friends at Christina Lake in British Columbia. So as you can see I grew up with these two items. I contacted Hansen Brothers to move the chair and table for me. Rick Hahn and I sent many emails back and forth from Seattle, Washington to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina about shipping these two pieces to me. The furniture arrived at Hansen Brothers, was wrapped and boxed and then sent on its way across the country. It arrived last week and was in perfect condition! I cant tell you how happy I am to have those two things my Mom had in our home. Every time I look at them I think of her and my family. Thank you Hansen Brothers for getting them here safely and thank you Rick for all your help.

I contacted several moving companies in anticipation of our move and Hansen Bros. were the quickest ones to respond to my request for a quote. They showed up promptly to my residence to do a walk thru and determine how much we were taking and provided an estimate on site after the walk thru. After reviewing all quotes we chose Hansen Bros. They called us prior to moving but we were not able to answer as we were on vacation out of the country, but they still showed on moving day at the appointed time. They wrapped our furniture in blankets and took care of our items as though it belonged to them. All the movers were courteous and professional. On delivery day (4 days later), the same movers showed up and once again took great care in ensuring all our belongings were well taken care of. I would not hesitate to use them again should the need arise and I would most certainly recommend them to anyone.
