I own a 1992 yamaha XJ600.. a year ago I took my bike here to have the oil changed and a tune up. I drove a few blocks after and they had to tow me back to there shop becuase oil started to spew from both the intake and exhaust ports on the bike and I had a puddle of oil in the turn lane on pacific Ave. I was told many times that they "big johns" hadnt done anything wrong. I left the bike with them for a few days and was told that they would look into it.. I now have proof and this is why I am writing this that they did do something wrong. I defended them (big johns) because they were trustworthy until today. As of today yes year later. I did nothing with the bike except get it home. I didnt have a way to work on, my landlord asked that I not work in the driveway on my bike which is one reason I took it to big johns. Today though a friend of mine took a video as I believed the problem was to much oil. Big johns said they checked this, they said due to the age of the bike there couldnt be held responsible. Even though I took it to them running game and got it back as a paper weight. I will be taking the video in to them. I will yet again allow them to make this blunder right. They put nearly a full gallon of oil into a 600cc motorcycle. And then refused to take responsibility, refused to make it right. I have gone from that day forward with out a bike. All the time thinking they were telling me the truth. Beware doing business with a company that refuses to take responsibility and claims that at the time I was lucky they didnt charge me for a tow, after they destroyed a perfectly running motorcycle. Hope this helps people to make a better informed dicision.

I recently purchased a used vehicle and had Big Johns check it out. After all they had been servicing my 2002 Ford Winstar for almost 5 years with their Amsoil Oil changes etc. Big Johns gave the vehicle a thorough check and using their assessment I was able to save on the final price of the vehicle. I took the vehicle straight from the purchase point and had Big Johns do EVERYTHING on the list...after all the estimate was reasonable and not over blown!! I also had them ad an amsoil oil change ...after all I want this vehicle to last just as well as my van!! THANKS GUYS!!!!

My first visit to Big Johns was when my Accord needed brake pads and rotors in 2015. I got 4 quotes, and Big Johns was the lowest price. The final cost was even lower, because not all of the time budgeted for labor was needed. They didnt have to charge me less, but they did, because they are honest. They dont always charge less than the quoted price, but the price is always reasonable, and the quality of their work is very good. Big Johns isnt close to me, but I dont mind driving 20 miles to an honest, friendly, good mechanic.

I have finally found a person who is straight-up, an honest business man who is excellent in auto repair and a wealth of information who also offers quality work, competitive prices (usually lower than most others, and great prices. John and Roy are a wealth of information and both are will to share what they know about your vehicle. I would have anyone else work on my vehicles.

I will not take my vehicles to ANYONE else! Big John is the best! Very fair, very honest! Saved me thousands! I recommend the AMSOIL 25,000 mile oil change with the EXTREME oil additive. Gave me an additional 100 freeway miles on a tank of gas!
