Failed my car emissions, so went in for an exam and a fix. Said they could fix it, and it would be much less than the "waved price of $150. Parked my car, went in and waited. Waited 5 minutes and saw my car driven in. Checked my watch. Then, exactly 14 minutes later, car was driven outside and was done. Came in and signed for car. Price was $150 + What ? Hmmmm I left - I was so pissed. Then I checked my receipt - - $94 for labor ? ? ? For 14 minutes ? Thats more than $400 / hour ! ! ! ! ! ! OMG Wrote an email, asking for a call. Received none. Wrote to them with a "review", asking for a call from the owner. Received none I called and asked for the owner. Not in. Left a message. Didnt get a call back. Called again in a week, Owner not in Left another message for owner to call. Never did, so Im writing this here, for all to see. . . . . . . They could have at least called me back for an explanation Just not satisfied with any of the treatment I received, let alone the unexpected exorbitant price

Owners Tracy and Ron at Federal Way Automotive & Radiator have helped my family of 6 during our time of need. With a sincere smile Tracy helped to get our car in ASAP while consistently communicating with me via cell phone and email. Ron actually took me into their shop and had one of his expert technicians visually explain to me everything that needed replacing and calibrating. Ive worked in shops before and most will never let you into their work area; Ron and Tracy have pride in their business, their employees, and are completely transparent. Not only was our car serviced quickly and professionally but they treated my family like we were a part of theirs. Cant say enough good things about Federal Way Automotive and Radiator without running out of room to post. Their service manager, Roger, is not only very knowledgeable but has an extreme sense of what customer service is all about . I was in recently for an overdue oil change to which I had only called 2 days before and was scheduled in with no problem. While I was there my car was serviced by a highly qualified technician in a very reasonable time and the cost was even more reasonable. Also Roger and I engaged in conversation about various topics, but he never failed to make sure the phone was answered in a timely manner or the walk in customer was taken care of promptly. A friend of mine recommended this shop to me to have my drivers side window motor replaced. I called and asked for an estimate and the estimate they gave me was 50% less than the dealership I called. Their office hours are the same as my work schedule, but they were very accommodating and let me drop my car off the night before and pick it up after office hours the next day. When I dropped my car off, they understood my concern of leaving my car parked outside with my window stuck open and offered to park it in their garage. The next day I got a call saying I didnt need a new motor and they only needed to replace a cord, so my total cost would be $100 less than what they quoted me. I was blown away they were so honest to not sell me something I actually didnt need. Im very happy to know I have a local repair shop I can trust! Thank you FW Automotive and Radiator!

My wife and I recently moved back to Washington State and needed service on a "New" used car we just purchased. In order to get the car registered we needed to pass the emissions test. On very short notice, Federal Way Automotive tuned the car and had it ready within 2 hours of calling them. We were on the road the same day with new tabs and a great running vehicle. Youve heard the adage that "there are only two things that are guaranteed in life: Death and Paying Taxes" well Ron and Tracy at Federal Way Automotive have a third guarantee: that as long as we own a vehicle in Washington State that they are going to get our business!!! What a pleasant experience it was to do business with them, they are thoroughly professional and expert at what they do and their pricing was more than fair and we would recommend them to anyone seeking a "Best" mechanic!!!

After all these great reviews I had very high hopes for this place. I took my truck in to get its transmission looked at. What i got was them looking at it for half an hour and then telling me I need it replaced. After talking to a few other shops, this is correct. Why I am giving them a 1 star review is when they told me I needed it replaced I asked what was wrong and was told very little and then quoted a crazy price. After going to 2 other places that have quoted 600-800 dollars less for the same services. I would of expected a better explanation as to why it needed to be fixed since they charged me 115 dollars just to do that. None of the other places have charged me to look at it and I was not told before I would be charged to get it looked at.

This is as good as it gets. I have been dealing with this GREAT family for 30 years (need I say more?) Yes I do! I remember back in the early 80s at their first small garage by the FW high school having radiator work done on a 66 chevelle and then when they moved to a larger spot by Lowes having work done on my 1979 JIMMY a few times. Their work was so good that I didnt need to go back very often. After all these years, they still take care of our vehicles at their newer location and yes my prized 1979 JIMMY too. I would not be suprised if they out grew their present location too. Besides their professional work, they and Magnolia are fun to be with ! Larry (Mr. H)

I wrote an earlier review on how stand up this company is and how honest they are, I had some work done on my car by Federal way Automotive and a part came off that they installed and it did major damage to my engine Ron and Tracy are picking up the tab for all the repairs and have taken responsibility for the damage and are even reimbursing me for a rental car. These people are wonderful, I would recommend them highly and strongly to everyone and they have earned our business for life. This is the best shop my husband and I have ever been too. Thank you Ron and Tracy.
