At one time, this was a 5 star review. Ive been with Rainier Connect for years, but its time to move on. The people in the front office are very nice, but tech support lies through their teeth. The problem is NOT my computer. The problem is that RC has bitten off more than they can chew. What used to be good service is now nothing but poor connectivity issues. Multiple hour night time outages every month or so, but no admitting that theyre down for maintenance issues, AGAIN. No, its Seems to be a problem in your whole area. Someone must have hit a pole.. I also get You have no internet connection screens all the time, when Im ALREADY connected to the internet on multiple tabs, on multiple browsers. Even when it opens the requested site, I spend half or more of my time waiting for the spinning wheel of a one lane highway to stop. Dont know where Im going, but its time. It is so time. Down to one star now, as I sit here, AGAIN, waiting for hours for service to be available. Too bad its Sunday. Ill have to wait until Monday to start calling other providers. We have now achieved a new low. Out 2 nights out of the last 3. Can they manage to f*** us all again tomorrow night and make it 3 out of 4? We use Rainier Connect for phone, internet, and cable. I have a DVR box on one tv. When I initially got the DVR box I was surprised that these DVR boxes were still in use. Weve had no big issues with the phone and the internet is ok for what we need. But every time I have had an issue with the cable or the DVR and called tech support on the weekend or evening my issue has never been resolved. The techs that answer the phone may be capable but I think because the equipment is outdated all they can do is tell you to unplug your DVR and then plug it back in and that has never resolved the issues. I am housebound due to health issues much of the time so I depend on my TV and DVR for entertainment a lot. My second DVR box failed and once again I have lost all my recorded movies and TV shows. I cant get satilite service unless I cut down some trees but now Im seriously considering it. Rainier Connects outdated equipment is frustrating, and disappointing but we switched from Comcast because we were tired of the ever increasing costs. I dont mind paying a set monthly bill but I expect to get decent service and equipment in exchange and Rainier Connect is woefully inadequate.

Absolutely horrible. We had Net-Venture at the lowest package (6Mbps) for years and years with no problem, and could stream movies and play games just fine. We upgraded to the second tier (12Mbps) a few years ago because we got a great deal, not because we had issues. Then they were bought out by Rainier Connect, and since then we have had nothing but problems with connectivity. We even upped our package to their next level speeds (20Mbps,) but instead we are averaging about 2Mbps downloads, if we can connect at all. We pay for streaming services and are unable to use them because the buffering is so terrible. We rarely ever have more than once device streaming at a time. Weve made the call to switch to Advance Stream, because at least they have business hours that fit our schedules and answer their phones every time weve called. We have yet to speak to someone at RC after trying to call for weeks.

Comcast is right across the street, but they wont connect because this cul-de-sac belongs to Rainier Connect. Im not sure whether to hate Comcast for refusing to take the money I want to throw at them for running a line, or Rainier Connect for my c*****y 15mbps. If it isnt bad enough, they advertise higher speeds in different parts of their service district, so Im paying upwards of fifty dollars a month for one line of 15 mbps, when someone a few miles away is paying less for four times the speed. And every time I ask when well get better speeds, its always "Its two years away." Newsflash, that was three years ago. Even mentioning Rainier Connect to me is enough to set me off. Nice people who treat you like a tech-idiot. Cant change anything in your settings without having to use a real person. This place is like Jitterbug for the internet. Old, slow and expensive.

Never have i ever wished to kill myself more than when i had this internet provider, this is by far the worst internet provider you will ever encounter in your life. I should be paid for the time of my life that i have wanted to stab a puppy because this provider is so bad. 1000 ping to a 90 mile destination when everybody else in my house is asleep is completely unacceptable and this company should not be a thing, it is hard to believe that people still pay for this and that they have not been bought out by a bigger company. Will the CEO of this company please just give it away to Xfinity so my suffering can end please

Company has been bought out, now service is below average, as slow as dial-up. I switched to Comcast/Xfinity. I hated to switch, was happy to support a local company, but needed reliable service. They didnt even have enough respect and appreciation for their customers to tell them there had been a change. I think customers have a right to know, especially when it affects the quality of the services paid for, instead of leading them on to think that their modem is the problem.

They took care of a very complicated account situation with grace, respect, tact, and above all, efficiency and effectiveness. This was so much less painful than it could have been. (Ex housemate refused to cancel the existing internet service so new service could go into the name of the remaining housemate. I have no idea what their billing department eventually said, but the ex housemate finally saw fit to do the right thing in this regard. Kudos to Lauren.)

Horrible internet provider. Payed for a specific service of 6mbs download speed. (Because that is the only service offered in my area) and on rare occasion do I actually get that speed. Most of the time i get between 1-4 mbs. Mix that in with frequent internet drops and you have a complete disaster of an internet provider. And to put the cherry on top of this laughable provider. It is the only provider in the area where I live so I am stuck with them.

I havent this company this since they came out and whenever I forget to pay my bill they discount my service but when I pay then I have to call and fight with them all the time like its bullshit whenever someone pays there the service should get back on ASAP some of go to school damn ass holes upgrade your systems oh Im be looking for a new company ASAP and yes I have started to look for a new company

I have only had this comapny for a month or so but so far, I have not had any issues with outages as others have complained about. Maybe this will change but for now, I have been very satisfied with both the service as well as the customer service. They are always very polite and accommodating. I will update my review if I ever have a reason to. As for now, they have been great!
