I was and still am very disappointed with this shop. I had taken my car in for some front end clicking and clanking noises, and they promptly diagnosed (and charged for the diagnosis) that it was my front struts. I had them replace them for their requested $680+, but the noise persisted. I took the car back to them a month later and they said it was the sway bar linkage and charged another $350+ dollars for the repair. I took the car back a few months later with the same clicking sound and noise and the auto-tech said he drove my car around for an hour, said he couldnt diagnose it, but to quote him "Its doesnt sound that dangerous, I would keep driving it until it becomes worse and then bring it back in." They then wanted to charge me another $85 for that advice, but that is when I said "No way, that is terrible advice and I am not paying for it." I decided to take the car to Honda (it is a Honda Civic) and they diagnosed it within an hour as cracked old rubber bushings with a total cost of $70 for parts, $150 for labor and the clanking and clicking sound is entirely gone. I would not recommend Tumwater Automotive based on my experience. It seems to me they were just throwing guesses at my vehicle and wanted to swap out parts for quick money. It has overall been my worst auto mechanic experience. I have wasted $1000 at Tumwater Automotive for absolutely no reason other than paying the young unprofessional people who work there.

I took my car into tumwater automotive today for the very first time. The staff seemed very friendly and knowledgeable and was actually referred here by family. When they called this morning and said my VW needed a tune up and quoted me I said okay. After hanging up with them I called my husband and he said it seemed high for a tune up. So I called the dealer, and they quoted me a hundred dollars less. By the time I had received the quote my car was almost finished. When I came to pick up the car, I explained what I had found out and was quoted by the dealership and all I got was a "wow thats surprising! normally we are cheaper." But no one offered to do anything to make me feel happy and less taken advantage of as a first time customer. The work they did, I am sure is stellar and has a warranty and all that. I am not upset at the quality of the work, but more so the customer service part. I am just disappointed that customer satisfaction wasnt a higher priority. And for spending over five hundred and fifty bucks, they could have at least thrown in a vacuum? Bummer.

My colleagues and I were headed to Seattle to attend a business conference when my car suddenly stopped shifting. We pulled into a rest stop and I discovered my brake fluid had drained completely. We called Tumwater Automotive and they were more than willing to help accommodate us. The quickly diagnosed the problem, were able to locate the part, fixed my car, and put us back on the road in an extraordinarily short period of time. So efficiently, in fact, we actually made it on time to the afternoon meeting. I am BEYOND grateful and INCREDIBLY impressed with their professionalism, caring attitude, and willingness to do the job quickly AND correctly. I would HIGHLY recommend Tumwater Automotive and would certainly take all my vehicles there if I lived in the area! A+++ THANK YOU!

Been taking my daily drivers to Tumwater Automotive, when the needed work is beyond my comfort zone. I recently purchased a "Collector Car," and was unsure whod be able to help me keep this beauty on the road. Stopped-in to talk to them, and learned that a couple of their mechanics are hot rod, collector, show car, and race car owners themselves. I felt comfortable theyd know their stuff, and that I wouldnt have to worry about them abusing my car on a "test drive." Took the Nova in for a "post purchase inspection" today, and had them address a couple other concerns of mine. I am very pleased with the work, with the price, with their attitude, and candor. I will continue taking my "hot rod" and my daily-drivers to Tumwater Auto.

I came into the shop looking for an estimate and decided to not even use the shop. When I got into the building I waited a few minutes to even get service. Normally this would be fine however when one of the employees is using Facebook (who I eventually found out was the manager) and another helpful young man has to come in from the back to help me I am instantly not impressed with the customer service. Your estimate was good and you guys seem to do great work according to your reviews. However as I work in customer service I truly appreciate good customer service, which I did receive from Mitch who is why im still giving you a 3 star review.

This place is a life saver. Being as we are from out of town an had some car troubles we took our 2003 Cadillac to a shop(Daves automotive) to have the wheel bearing fixed an that place was a joke dropped it off for 3 hours to wait for someone to call us they never did so we walked over to check on it an the guy acted like he had no clue what we were talking about or what car it was. So left an went over to TUMWATER AUTOMOTIVE an explained what happed they got our car in right away an had 2 guys work on it. If you ever have car issuse go see these guys they are amazing!!!! Thank you for helping us get home to seattle!!!!!:)

I have been taking my vehicles to Tumwater Automotive since 1987. I found them to be honest and they go the extra step to inspect everything. I drive away knowing that my car and/or truck has been thoroughly inspected and taken care of. I have even taken my car in when they told me there was nothing wrong and left with no charge!! Since I retired, I am a lot further away from them, but just do not feel comfortable taking my vehicles to anyone else. I prefer to drive the 15 miles I live from them to taking my car to a closer spot. I highly recommend them to everyone!

We sure were lucky to breakdown so close to Tumwater Automotive! AAA directed us to this place while waiting for the tow for our overheated Infiniti. I called and Mike couldnt have been more pleasant and accommodating. He genuinely seemed concerned, and told us that he could look at it as soon as we brought it in. We needed a new radiator. The part was ordered and he said hed have it done by 3 pm. And then he had it done by 2 pm! We were back on the road in 3 hours! Wish you were in Salem, Mike! Thanks for being a "Good Guy" ! You are a rare breed these days.

On a trip up north back in August I found myself with a transmission fluid problem. 100 miles from home, a pregnant wife and a 2 year old I was starting to panic inside calling every shop I could find on Google and they were all booked. It was my Lucky day when I called Johnny, even though he was booked he offered to help my family out! dropped my car off and was shuttled to my hotel, he called me about an hour before I was expecting I got a call saying my car was done! I could be happier and more thankful for their effort. great guys and great service!
