I havent even gotten an install yet and Ive had the worst service Ive ever experienced. First I spoke with a guy who came to my door, no big deal because we were planning on switching to Spectrum anyways. I explicitly said I only wanted internet and that I would call them mid August for an install. Turns out the dude scheduled me an appointment for a day I was at work so I got a random call saying "hey Ill be there at 2 to install your tv, internet, and home phone." WHAT. It took me ALL DAY to reach the guy in order to cancel my appointment that was never supposed to exist. I set up a new appointment for when I actually need it, canceled my old internet service, and wait, and wait, and wait. I get a confirmation an hour before the install saying that the tech would be there on time. They never showed. They canceled my appointment without telling me, and apparently had no plans to tell me. I called customer service and they said "oh you were rescheduled for next week." In summary, the sales guy signed me up for two services I would never use and scheduled a surprise appointment. When I actually made a real appointment I had a confirmation saying theyd be there at my scheduled time, they never showed, and then they rescheduled my appointment for a day I would never agree to and didnt bother calling me. Good luck to anyone making an appointment for an installation.

Two issues: 1) The teleprompter is so confusing, that you will probably end up in the wrong department. It also doesnt help that they have so many departments!! I was trying to change my internet service, and I had to be transferred to 3 different departments to get it done. 2) Lets face it - these companies are guardians of the "price point." I was excited to see them come out with a basic internet connection - the "everyday low price" connection that has all a single-person household needs with 2-3 Mbps. -- There is no way a single person can utilize a "basic" cable package of 15 Mbps, so what are those households paying for? -- TWC seems determined to keep you from using that package, however, by placing a total data use cap on that package -- something they dont openly advertise! Bait and switch? Yes...I think so. Keeping my eyes out for a disruptive competitor who will offer smaller packages for more reasonable prices.

I used to be a huge fan of Time Warner. Was with them for close to 15 years. In December, we called customer service to try and get a lower rate. THREE times we were told someone would call us back. Nothing. I finally called and told them we were moving on. They said they could drop our rate about $8.00 a month. Moved to AT&T for more channels and less cost (customer service is TBD). When I called Time Warner to officially cancel, they said they would bring down my costs $100 less each month! Really?!?! After I already moved to AT&T? Then, when I returned my modem, cables, etc., no one bothered to tell me that my email would immediately be deleted. And that they did. When I called customer service about it, the supervisor said, "Well, we need to make room for our customers." Stay away. As a customer, you mean nothing to them.

I expected as much. I had been using TWCs cable modem for 12 years and it had begun crashing. I went in to get it replaced and they gave me a new one without hassle. However, the new one didnt have a telephone jack like my old one. They replied that I wasnt paying for phone service. I replied that I was using MagicJack and I needed a phone jack. They said they wont give me one because Im not paying them for the phone. The bottom line is that I am now paying the same amount to RENT a cable modem from TWC and it has less features than the 12 year old one I turned in. TWC acts like a public entity. Because they dont have any competition, they dont have to do anything well. They dont have to be responsive to customer concerns because the customer cant go anywhere else.

Everyone passes the buck, zero solutions, all excuses. Its like talking to a rock, youre wasting your time. Ive been lied to on multiple occasions. Their 30mb Internet averages 15mb, if you ping a server out of state that average drops to 2-5mb download <1 upload. Upstream power levels are too high which causes your modem/router to drop signal or reduce speeds. If you start a chat session with a representative to diagnose issues, theyll give you a task and tell you, take your time, Ill be here. When return, guess what happens, hmm chat session ended, so make sure youre checking in every minute. Customer service improvement ads are all lies, just a huge facade

Time Warner is now Charter Spectrum. Only time will tell if it means more customer friendly service. I went there to pick up an installation kit for services ordered online. The wait time (standing in line) was about 25 minutes. Once I got to the counter, the agent was very good and helpful. By comparison, Comcast outlet across the state line in Illinois has the customers take a number and be seated in comfortable chairs. Comcast also has self serve kiosks for routine service matters (like paying bills). Spectrum should send out "secret shoppers" to check out service efficiency of similar companies.

Honestly, I dont know why there is so much hate. When I was down at Ft. Bliss, TWC was AWFUL. When I moved up here, they have been SO helpful and accommodating. We havent had any issues with them, they didnt want to run our credit/charged us a giant as deposit like Uverse, and our Internet has been perfect. Its also quite affordable for "gaming" level speeds. Im thinking about getting cable television soon and dont suspect that will be an issue either. I understand a lot of people hate the actual company, but the local people have been super great to us.

Called to find out the admin log in /password on my router. After waiting on hold and trying all the default choices I was told they do not know the password for my router. I called the number they gave me to find out, thus no success. I was then transferred to another number. I am curious why I pay this company to come set up my internet and cant provide me with the log in when they set up the network/router Spectrum - 0 out 5

Possibly the rudest customer service Ive ever experienced. I was cancelling cable while keeping internet and phone. The "service" associate spent 5 minutes asking me to wait and started telling me about a new deal for cable. I said I was cancelling my cable and she got nasty - commenting that she didnt "understand my mumbo jumbo!" I hope that line isnt out of their service handbook.
