I have used SPA 3 times over the last few years. Twice for brow waxing and once for a pedicure. The first brow wax was decent, i was taken into a room with a decent set up and the lights and magnifiers to do my eyebrows. I was pretty happy with the service, especially for the cost. The next time I went for my brows, I was really disappointed. They missed a lot of the hairs and the teacher/supervisor barely glanced at me and said it looked fine. They waxed but didnt clean up with any plucking and I had to pluck myself when I went home. Then I went for a pedicure. It may sound silly, but I wanted a place with massaging chairs so I asked when I booked the appointment. Turns out they do have the massaging chairs but when I got my pedicure, I realized the chairs barely work. I couldnt get the settings to adjust and could barely feel it. The pedicure itself was really disappointing too. I asked them to not clip or shape my big mail because I have problems with ingrown nails, while they didnt clip or file it much, they did still clip and file. The scrubbing and cleaning was only ok and the polish application was horrible. They actually brushed areas of the nail side to side, took lots of strokes to cover the nail (way more than the usual 3-5) and it looked really clumpy. I dont know if the polish was low or old and thats why they struggled with application, but if thats the case you should really get a new bottle or thin it or something. And again, the teacher barely looked at the end result. The bad experience paired with the fact that it was only about $5 less than I would have paid elsewhere where I know they do better quality work, and that our end cost was more than what we were quoted on the phone when we made the appointment....I wouldnt go back here again. Ill add that I read through some of the other comments here and the responses from SPA...I never had anyone ask if I had a preference for the level of my service provider or if I had a time limit...I was just booked with whomever they put me with.

I was a student here but did not complete the program. I transferred to a different school because I was not getting the help I needed there. They dont help much at all in my opinion its like they get to you when they get to you but they rush you to enroll after that your lucky to even talk with admissions again. Your educator is supposed to meet with you once a month and that was not the case in my experience I felt I was just being told the same things over and over when clearly it wasnt helping. They will make you feel bad about yourself and there is a lot of judgement there. With the exception of two maybe three educators they treat you like a child and I have heard them bad mouth students and talk about others. They are all about making money and not so much about your education and this is a complaint I often heard while I was in school there. Ive talked with quite a few people that did an apprenticeship at gateway and loved it and didnt have nearly as bad of an experience as I did. When I went to sign my final papers there one of the teachers looked at me shook her head and said she was disappointed in me. I thought that was rude. Its not like I missed days and got kicked out it was my decision to leave because of the school and the way it was there. I am now Going to school for something totally different I dont even want to do hair anymore I went into that school with a passion for it and left totally discouraged with no interest in it anymore.

Attended here as a student, it seemed wonderful. I was promised so much when I was enrolled and the admin were all so nice. After I was enrolled it was like I didnt exist, they wouldnt even look my way. I was told of an "open door" policy and that they were always there for me and that students could talk to them whenever they wanted. Well that changed and now my educator was responsible for making me an appointment to speak with admin. The kit that I had paid $1000 for wasnt even worth that much. They dont have enough teachers for all of the students that are there. I felt like that wasnt college it was even worse than high school. The policys are forever changing on a monthy basis. Money is number one and education is number two. The teachers they do have are great and care about the students. It boils down to we were promised so much but delivered so little.

The prices are fair for student service, but be prepared for it to take a long time to get the service completed. On one occassion it took nearly four hours for a haircut and color, on another it took the better part of two hours for a simple trim. The nail service is poor. I had shellacs done there for the first time. They used wood scrapers to scrape off the shellacs. I found out after looking up the process online that the shellacs are supposed to be soaked off, not SCRAPED! My nails were badly damaged from this treatment and it took months for them to grow out. Obviously something is wrong with their education. If you need a cheap way to get your hair and nails done, this is it. Beware however that you are very likely to get exactly what you pay for.

I want to start this review off by calling out people who gave bad reviews due to how long it took for the students to preform their service.... theyre students. that literally should be self explanatory. To complain about students that are still learning just makes you flat out stupid. Anyways, my boyfriend and I got both of our hair cuts at the same time. I had zamiria but I cant remember the other ones names but they both did amazing!! So amazing that tomorrow Im going in for a color and cut and I cant wait! Zamiria has talent and I can see the other students do as well. All of you do great and its so awesome being in the middle of everything while getting my hair done!

The students and staff are an absolute joy. Ive been a regular for over a year and will continue going here for my hair needs. The instructors guide their students with the utmost patience and everyone is incredibly professional. Please consider donating your time to helping students develop experience. You might find that youre getting a $100 haircut for a significantly lower price. The facility is also clean and has the feel of a high end salon.

I wish I could show a picture so you could see how beautifully Lindsey did my hair! She was kind, professional, and if you want a great look at a great price, go to the Salon Professional Academy of Kenosha! I had gotten an updo for my Birthday and received so many compliments. Thank you, Lindsey and good luck to you on your next adventure after the Academy!

I got a cut and color yesterday with Jennifer Class, and it was AMAZING! I love my hair! She did such a fantastic job. It was amazingly priced, and the style time was NOT horrible at all. Everyone was so nice, and she recommended some great products so that I can keep my style new. I highly recommend coming here for their services.
