I purchased a post office box online for a box in Racine, WI. I live in Chicago, but do business in WI, specifically Racine, WI. When I went to finalize the process today at the post office at the Racine West Post Office, I was told my address on my photo ID had to match my physical proof of address (example insurance card). My address did not match, but I had a current ID and proof of physical address. I do not remember reading online when I purchased it that my photo ID had to match my proof of address. I then asked the two staff people to show me in writing the policy. The document provided did NOT say anything about MATCHING addresses. I asked to speak to a manager. The woman and young man who told me NO, were also NOT helpful. The woman went and got Jim, the Supervisor. This is how Jim approached me, "I CANNOT HELP YOU". and then proceeded to walk away from me. I asked him if that is how he was going to treat a customer and he said "Yes, I do not care". I asked him his name and he said, "Jim, I am no body but a Supervisor". He also said I could not purchase a post office box there if I did not LIVE in RACINE, WI. That is NOT true. He blatantly lied to me and told me I was wrong and he did not care if I called to complain. This is unacceptable. If I was wrong, it was his JOB to tell me why and show me documentation in a professional manner. He was rude to me and I feel the office discriminated against me and Jim, the leader, helped perpetuate this behavior. It was discrimination and I have never been treated like that by a "supervisor". I will be asking for a refund and letting other African American customers know about Jim and to avoid that discriminatory store. I hope that USPS does not tolerate these blant discriminatory practices.

This post office is very disrespectful. I called earlier and asked to have them hold my mail. I was told No! Not only are they very disrepecrful, but they are the slowest post office Ive ever felt with. My mail on a daily basis comes any where from 4:00p.m to 6:00pm. This is ridiculous! Is there anyone that I can call and report this post office? Im actually contemplating on going down there because Ive heard stories about Jim the superviser. I might do something I regret if "JIM" talks to me disrespectful as he does to other customers...

Jim is by far the worst "supervisor". This is the most disrespectful unhelpful post office. Im going to consumer affairs and will go as far as I can. My mail is being delivered to another address daily. Ive called for months and was told by "JIm, the supervisor" to go and dig up my mail box and move it so its easier. Mind you, this is a new driver, so now I have to be inconvenienced. Consumer affairs, BBB, and wherever else I can go I will. He should not be in Customer Service, NOR a SUPERVISOR!!!

I see the counter reps working, but the lines seem to perpetually move slow regardless of how fast or busy the counter-people seem to be. While theyre generally friendly I believe there are attitudes or inefficiencies that will keep it a slow moving, over-priced behemoth of an operation forever.

2 stars because the building is NOT ADA accessible. At least half of the people going in were older folks who had to struggle like mad to get in with a couple of boxes. God help them if they were heavy. The people at the counter were nice and helpful But the building is awful.

Normally my local office. However I have called 3 times over 2 different days to schedule to renew Passports and all 3 times I was told " there is a line out the door, can you call back" Highly annoying. Going somewhere else.
