After posting a request for recommendation for cleaning and altering my wedding dress in the west valley, Tess’ Alterations happened to be the most recommended. I was excited that they were able to alter my dress and I was in tears when I finally got to try it on! I sent it to cleaning and made arrangements to pick it up from them 2 days prior to my wedding, on Friday, April 7th (everything paid in full). Upon getting my wedding dress, I noticed there were 4 dirt spots on my dress. A lady helped me (not Tess) clean 2 of the spots. The other 2 spots I was told “they aren’t that noticeable.” After being there for 45 minutes, I was ready to go. I voluntarily left with 2 spots still on my dress as they seemed a little busy helping other people that they couldn’t help me anymore. Prior to leaving I was offered $35 off of the preservation of my dress. The following day, I noticed that my tulle wasn’t in the bag with my dress. I called Saturday and spoke with Tess who I explained to her the dirt spots on my dress still, and now the tulle wasn’t in with the rest of my stuff. She explained that when something is taken out of the bag with the wedding dress before it’s sent to cleaning, that it is supposed to be tagged with the person’s name on it and that wasn’t done. During the phone call, Tess asked me to wait 2 times so she could help another customer. This became very frustrating. She told me that she was tired and was ready to go home and I expressed that I needed to get my tulle, she said she was supposed to be closed at 5 and it was already 5:30. I explained to her that all of my belongings should have been put back in the bag in the first place and if she could wait for me to get the rest of my stuff. I live 10 minutes away. As I showed up we continued to go back and forth about what was and wasn’t done, and her response was “yeah, yeah, customer’s always right.” I have 15+ years of customer service to know that’s not always the truth. But the sarcasm and the lack of responsibility for anything made it apparent that she did not care. I told her I would not be getting my dress preserved there and that I would like a little more than $35 refunded back to my credit card. I handed her my card and she said “all you want is something for free.” I took my card back and I told her “I didn’t want anything for free because everything was paid in full before the service. All I wanted was some responsibility taken for the mistakes that have been done but you have put me on hold when I was on the phone, and then you have made up stories saying I was here (the day prior when I picked up my dress) for 2 hours yelling and screaming.” Tess was not even the person who helped me clean up my dress when I picked it up and I was there for approx. 45 mins. I did get a refund of $50 and my tulle back, but in my opinion, I felt that Tess could have taken a bit more responsibility for the dress not being cleaned and not having all of my belongings put back in the wedding bag that they came in. Having to go back to the store and pick up my tulle the evening before my wedding was a great inconvenience and not once did I get any kind of apology! A simple acknowledgement of the mistake or maybe “sorry for the inconvenience” would have gone a long way. But the lack of responsibility, even after admitting they didn’t follow a process correctly (tagging an item removed from the bag with the owners name on it) was especially upsetting, especially after I had so many people recommend Tess’ Alterations. I will not recommend nor ever seek services from them again and will make certain that if I am ever asked about Tess’ Alterations, I will be sure to share my experience.

Terrible service. I dropped off a cashmire cardigan that had a dirt spot on it so I could wear it to a wedding 1 1/2 wks later in San Diego. The woman told me that it would be finished around Thursday (I dropped it off on Tuesday). I didnt get a chance to pick it up until the next week on Monday, but when I arrived, to pick it up she handed me the cardigan and the stain was still on it, exactly the way it had looked. When I pointed this out to her, she said that she had needed more time to clean it and that I could leave it longer. I couldnt because I was leaving for the wedding the next day. She just shrugged her shoulders and I was so angry at her indifference I had to leave, least I cause a scene. Stay away! Horrible horrible customer service. I recommend Delias cleaners or Super cleaner...they have both been on time and both cleaned specific areas on my clothing. Happy dry cleaners hunting!

I went to Tesss to get my daughters flowergirl dress altered. I was quoted $60 by the owners daughter. 1 day before my dress was supposed to be done, Tess called me to tell me that I was quoted wrong and that the alterations would be $95...for a 2T dress! She said that if I didnt pay for the right price, she would leave my daughters dress as it was...not done. I was so irrate. I ended up only paying for $60 worth of alterations, but had to take the dress to another alteration place to get it finished...for another $20. I will NEVER AGAIN use Tess, nor will anyone I know. No one even apologized for the error...they just threatened me to do what they wanted & when I didnt, I got an unfinished dress. Terrible terrible terrible.

I took in some jeans to have some material taken in the seat area. When I picked them up, the thigh area was so tight, they were like skinny jeans. When I asked about it, they just said thats what happens. But they didnt communicate that to me when I was deciding how much material to take out. If they would have done that, I wouldnt have had them take out so much. Before I could at least wear them, they were just a little baggy. Now they are so tight, I cant even wear them. These were expensive jeans so I will never go back to this place.

Told my wife to take our high school boys when they wanted to rent tuxes and vests for homecoming, the day before the dance. Thankfully this place stocks everything in the store and had anything our boys wanted available the same day. They were also the best rates we have paid for a tux ever. I would recomend this place to anyone needing a tux for a prom or wedding. Thanks.

I have used Tess for alterations and for dry cleaning for years. They have always been very courteous and I have always experienced great customer service. She has altered my wedding dress and all the tuxedos and dresses for my wedding and she does a great job. Her prices are fair and they are all very professional.

Wonderful experience! We needed a last minute tuxedo rental 30 minutes before closing.....and they were able to fit our needs perfectly...pressed the shirt while we waited, etc. We were in and out in 30 min! Great customer service....will recommend to everyone!
