My first time to Wilhelm was a God Send!! My husband and I hitched the trailer to our jeep to pick up a load of tires when on the highway one of the tires started shredding and it bent the wheel well on the trailer. We didnt want to leave the trailer on the side of the road and since the tire wasnt flat yet we decided to head to the closest Automotive repair shop and that was Wilhelm. Our first blessing was the tire didnt go flat even though the wheel well was shaving rubber off the whole way and smoking terribly. When we got to Wilhelm, since they dont keep trailer tires in stock, they suggested we take the trailer off, and go to Firestone for a tire and come back and they would install it for us and bend the wheel well back so we could drive the trailer. Second blessing was that Firestone had the tire - they dont normally stock them, but they had one and our size. We dropped the tire off at Wilhelm, did our errands, and when we returned, Wilhelms put the tire on and fixed our wheel well and did it for free. That was blessing number three. I know we wont get this deal again, but they sure won a loyal customer with their customer service. Thank you Wilhelm!!

Had my car towed there (wouldnt start). First time customer. First, I wasnt 100% confident on the estimate of almost 4 hours of labor needed to replace battery terminals and cables. Second, I was told a part needed to be ordered by 2:30pm in order to be in next day. I authorized work via my cell phone at 12:14pm (call log is there to prove). I called next day near end of business to see if car was ready. They hadnt started on it because they thought I had authorized work at "3 or 4pm" the day before so it was too late to order the part. Jerry didnt believe me when I said I called before 2:30pm. This was now Friday (today) and now I have to wait through the weekend until Monday or Tuesday to get my car back. They either made a mistake and didnt own up to it, or they were lying. Not impressed. Wont be a repeat customer. I wouldve tried my car elsewhere for a second opinion, but it was too much hassle to try and move it since it wont start.

As a "want to be mechanic" I can fix just about anything on cars, and things around the home. I went to change the hoses on my car, and snap I broke the intake for the upper radiator hose trying to loosen a clamp. I called and talked to Jim and explained my situation. I had the car towed, and although his amazing mechanics had a busy schedule, Jim recognized my discouraging attempt at fixing my own car. I was greeted and treated like first class, and that made me feel like I chose the right place to fix my car. The tow truck dropped the car off by 9:30, ended getting to work by noon, and my car was up and running again by mid afternoon. If youre still reading this, and youre a want to be mechanic, and screw something up on your car, call Wilhelm Automotive. They will take good care of you. My husband and I recently moved to Avondale from another part of the valley, so didnt really have anyone we knew to take our car to for an estimate on damages due to an accident. We were familiar with the Wilhelm Auto Shops from other locations in the valley and also knew of their longstanding business operations, so thought it was the best place to get the estimate done. After the estimate was completed, which was promptly done in a couple of hours, we determined that the vehicle was not worth fixing. But they were very accommodating in allowing us to leave the vehicle on their property until we could make arrangements to have the it towed away. The manager/owner Jim was so nice and friendly as well as the rest of the staff I felt like I had been a customer for years. We will definitely be back as customers when the need arises.

Our first experience with Wilhelm was a couple of years ago when my sisters car basically "blew up." She is single and was going through some very difficult times. Thats when I first met my rear neighbor, Jerry Sanchez. He was and continues to be, so kind and helpful. Since then, we have continued to bring our vehicles in to Wilhelm for service. EVERYONE there is so friendly, kind and helpful! I cannot say enough about their professionalism and integrity. I never worry about being ripped off. I have since referred other neighbors and friends to them. While I dont know everyone there, I would also like to acknowledge Debbie. We are both dog lovers and she always speaks to me and asks about my four legged friends. All in all, a great group of people!

I truly trust the Wilhelms on Indian School. The staff is wonderful, the front counter usually remember my name and the manager Jim makes a point to talk to his customers. When my vehicles are worked on, Im provided with a reasonable price and an explanation that I understand. They explain the priority of the repairs when they know money is tight. I always receive my vehicle back with no grease fingerprints. When I make appointments they start on time and are very thorough in their work. I have also been known to drop in with a small problem and they will work to get me in. I will continue to come to the Indian School location due to the quality of work and customer service.

Wilhelm is by far, the very best in customer service and in providing trustworthy mechanics. They are very knowledgeable, courteous, "do what they say", always providing the best pricing possible and put forth the extra effort - even when I may not be the most receptive person at the moment, they have always been patient and have shown a great deal of respect. Most important - "they repair my Honda Element " and keep it running. I can not say enough nice things about this company. Never have I trusted a mechanic more then when my dad fixed my vehicles for me. Thank you very much. You are Simply the BEST.

Had an issue with my car on a Sunday and used their chat to set up a Monday appt. Was pleased with the chat and even got a follow up phone call to schedule the service. When I went in it was a whole different story - long wait for help, then when I told them I had talked to someone on a Sunday they laughed in my face and told me that I must be confused, they were closed on Sundays. They asked me if I had been in before and I told them yes... they couldnt find my record and instead of just saying no problem lets get your info again they became rude and arrogant. I walked out to never return again

Brought an older car in saying I didnt want to repair it if it would be too expensive. Gave me a price for a repair which I agreed to and had done and paid for. All of a sudden it needed another repair and another jacking up the price but I was given assurances it was worth it since "everything else on it was in great shape". I went way over budget and the engine was kaput a couple months later. Ive heard from others that you bring it in and get it repaired for one thing, then something else goes wrong while youve got it in there and you end up paying much more than you expect.
