This AAMCO rebuilt my Honda Oddyssey tranny two years ago. I had a 36Kmile/3yr warranty. Well, what do you know the tranny started acting up just outside of the mileage part of the warranty although I was only on year two time wise. I took it to the Aamco in Surpise,AZ since we moved down there (you can read my unfavorable review there) who told me they could do nothing about it because the warranty had expired but I could go back to the shop who did the work and plead my case with the owner there. And so I did. The new owner was very understanding and promised that if this was even remotely their fault (fault of the previous owner actually) he would cover it. I took the van up to PV and after a while they showed me that the motor mounts were all shot and since there were no tranny slippage codes in the computer I should start with the mounts. And so I did. I did the work myself ($250 in parts) and the van is FINE! I appreciate that the new owner was willing to fix the mistake of his predecessor, if need be, to keep people happy and maintain a level of trust with the community.I do not doubt that if the van did have an issue that was transmission related that the new owner would have taken care of things despite it being just out of warranty. (On a side note: The Surpise, AZ Aamco didnt catch the motor mounts and wanted to drop the transmission to dissect it for $500. The tech at the PV office called them up to see if they even bothered checking the motor mounts and they responded that they did not. )

Caution, this is a rip off joint. Tried to sell me a tranny for my Honda that it did not need. Said they did a" comprehensive check". Not really. Wanted $4000.00+ for a rebuilt unit. Wont go into details on the problem, to long to explain. Anyway, took it to an independent repair and restoration shop in Prescott. They put in on a code reader and found engine codes and transmission codes thrown by the tranny popping out of gear. It appears, that the shifter cable came loose, something I mentioned to them. They repaired the cable and cleared all the codes. They also did a tuneup on the trans, engine oil change and replaced a bad brake caliper. $720.00, yes $720.00 Far cry from $4000.00 plus from aamco. Make sure you get a second opinion. Better yet, dont waste your time or money with them. Had to give a one star rating in order to post a comment. Other wise it would be a minus 10.

Gave this place a good review a few months ago and now im having all these problems!!! This place is a joke, everytime I go they have new mechanics, I had a bad experience with one before and was told he was fired, went back again and he was working!!! I told them I didnt have the money to have my suv worked on and not to start working, since i drove by less then 5 minutes before i called and it was still sitting there, the owner said they already started work....funny since it was in the same spot until i called. Checked there BBB rating and its an F and status is revoked! To late, im out 800 and they didnt even fix the problem! Beware of this place, the manager Martin is a crook and the owner John is even worse. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

These guys just amaze me with their customer service.. since the company has been bough out they are really going above and beyond for customers. I was driving to the post office when my tahoe said system stability disabled. engine power low was acting really weird.. so i drove up to aamco (35 min or so drive) and found out their mechanic had gone home for the day sick.. i was super bummed cause i needed my Tahoe fixed today.. they called their mechanic and he came in sick and all and he fixed my Tahoe (throttle body went out) the mechanic and the people who work here are amazing people and will definitely recommend them to everyone.. any shop that is willing to go above and beyond is a A++ shop in my book!! Thank you so much AAMCO!

Of all the people I contacted about this job, Gary (the owner) replied to my inquiry the fastest, even considering I inquired on a Sunday, when they were closed. (One of the businesses I inquired with didnt reply until 2 days later, -after- I was already on my way home from AAMCO!) I got in for an oil change Tuesday at about 9:50 a.m. and the mechanic was finished in less than 30 minutes. Very impressive! Not even my regular mechanic of 5+ years has done that before. (Guess who may just have a new mechanic?!) And, of all the businesses I contacted, AAMCOs prices were the best! (Even before considering any Veterans discount, which was extremely generous!) Thanks, Gary and everyone else at 6871 E 1st!

I was experiencing shifting issues with my vehicle. I brought it in to see what was going on. Your mechanic looked it over and stated there was nothing wrong with it. He told me that these are really good transmissions and he hardly sees any issues with them. Exactly a week later I have issues again. I bring it back in and now he states I need a new transmission. I brought in initially to prevent any further damage and after your advice, a week later, you want to sell me a $3000 transmission. I dont feel like your team trouble shot my initial concern correctly. For that reason I dont trust your shops trouble shooting skills and will not visit or recommend your services.

After having my 1984 ford bronco repaired I had to take it to a ford dealer. They over filled my tranni and blew a front seal, they did not do the work they stated and over charged me by 1000.00$ they do not care about you only the money in your pocket. I did contact the county Att. and he stated they do get comp. and will look in to it run dont walk away from these people. the work they charged me for was never done I have documentation and have filed a claim in the ycc it cost me an added 1400 to finish the work they stated they did like the front end. the fuel pump that was not needed if the filter was changed they never put gaskets in see you in court thieves

I have been in for several things with a 03 Dodge Ram.This truck is over 190,000 miles and AAMCO has replaced the engine, rack and pinion, radiator, and heater core. They have done a great job on each portion, answered questions and quickly checked anything I was not sure about. I changed the fuel pump out myself and when I had trouble with one connection, they were happy to take a look and help me with the problem without taking advantage of the situation. The truck is running great and may very well give me the next 200,000 miles. I am very happy with the service and do recommend them highly.

While the staff was nice to me, they were not helpful. They refuse to honor their warranty on a truck transmission, claiming that the warranty is not transferable. The title to the truck in question is still in the owners name and the owner is willing to come and sign the work order. There should be no reason why this should not be covered. The transmission is in the covered window of time, still in the owners name and any current debt will be paid. They just dont want to honor their warranty and thats just plain dishonest. Dont do business with AAMCO.
