Never had issues with them in the past, car wont start, suspect its more than a battery. Surprise, turns out it is! Needs a new alternator and my battery is under warranty so that gets replaced too. $700 for an alternator and install seems steep, considering that a quick google search found them around Phoenix for $80-$180. I asked why it was so expensive and was told it was a new alternator and they dropped the price $200. I was impressed. Then my car died 48 hours later at 3am, power steering, AC, electrical all going bananas right before it died. Guess what the problem was. The alternator. Guess what had a sticker saying REFURBISHED right on the side of it? The alternator. I eagerly await the canned corporate response from the PR team about how much this concerns them, and to email them right away at their corporate email address. You will make this right. I will not pay another dime. I encouraged my insurance company to send the invoice to the shop, which is also where the car is getting dropped off. I will be in early right when you open, to happily explain the situation. UPDATE: When I went in I was told that most "new" alternators are refurbished. Despite specifically asking if it was refurbished or new, and being told it was NOT refurbished and WAS brand new, hence the cost. They put another alternator and battery in after I went in the second time. I will not be going back. Had I not done any research on my own they would happily have taken $700 for an $80 Alternator and oil change.

Extremely unprofessional level of service. Came in for an oil change. They told me I needed some more work done on my car and I said okay, hoping they were being honest. While waiting I heard screaming and swearing coming from outside--I actually thought it was a street fight until I looked out the window into the garage. I saw someone digging around in my car without a shirt or shoes on. Thinking someone had wandered in from outside, I opened the door and asked for help--someone else came over and explained, "nah, he works here." I asked why he was in my car without a shirt or shoes and was told thats just "how he is." Were in Phoenix, its hot outside, I get it. I took more of an issue with the swearing and shouting and what happened next: a few minutes later the shirtless guy (now wearing a shirt) came into the waiting area and asked, "Whats wrong? You dont like my sweater vest?!" I felt like my request for professionalism had been met with ridicule. I called the national number later: if Im not being treated professionally, how do I know my car is? I was told there was nothing that could be done, and Im stuck paying a rather high bill. Im naturally wary of car places, due to the unfortunate tendency to be profiled as clueless (because girls never know anything about cars, right?), but this was by far the worst experience Ive ever had at an auto shop. I will not be back and Ive recommended my friends not visit Meineke, either.

I went to this center because my BMW was leaking coolant. They charged me $800 and I drove down the street to put gas in my car only to notice that all the coolant had leaked out of my car. They were closed so I couldnt drive back, so I went home and the next morning added more coolant to my car. I got down the street and my engine light was on red. I pulled over and waited for them to open and then called them to tell them the situation. They had a tow truck come and get me and my car and then one of the guys there gave me a ride home. While I was at work they called and told me my warranty would cover a new radiator and then they charged them $1800. Again, I picked my car up and YES...it was in my garage leaking coolant. I brought it back and then after I was at work they said I needed more work which was going to cost another $600. At this point I was furious and told them not to touch my car and that I would be there to pick it up. They were irritated when I got there as if to say...why are you upset you drive a BMW you should have tons of money. I took the car to another mechanic and he says, well at least they fixed the radiator, but it looks like someone poked a hole in your oil pan because oil is spilling out. Well I wonder how that happened? Needless to say after over $3000 to fix a radiator, I will never go to this chop shop ever again.

Meineke did a nice thing by offering free oil change to vets on Veterans Day, I did get a oil change. My car started to have a oil leak after. I have a VW and I know sometime if not done right the oil filter leaks. So I brought it back to have them do the quick fix, no harm no foul. But first they tried to say it was my turbo that started leaking and had me go under the car to see. When I pointed out it was not the turbo and ask the guy to pull the skid plate it was evident that the leak was around the oil filter. He than started to BS me about how it was the lines going to the filter and said he would give me a quote to fix it. I took my car and now I have to pay a mechanic to fix the simple repair Meineke should have done instead of making excuses. I will not go back and will not recommend them to anyone. I guess free is not free.

Zach is a liar & is extremely dishonest. He quoted me a price of $600 for front & back brake pads, & rear wheel barrings before I had the work done. They were supposed to be mid grade level brakes, & they sqeak & are very noisy, & my steering wheel shakes when I apply the brakes. When I went to pick up my vehicle the price increased to over $1,000. Zach said come on I told you this at the quote, & I said no you didnt. I would of NEVER agreed to that price, but what was I going to do at this point the work had already been done. Please AVOID this place they are liars! If I could of not given any stars I would have. Ill never go back here ever again! DO NOT GO HERE TO GET ANY WORK DONE ON YOUR VEHICLE!

Meineke : Thomas Road, Scottsdatle, AZ . Horrible service. I went there for oil change. They suggested me to do tire rotation. I agreed with them and asked them to do that. But not sure what they did, they screwed up my car completely. My rear struts are broken and also there is something broken at front. I went back to them and ask them to look at whats wrong. They started to blame my tires. I went to Discount tires to have my tires checked. They told nothing is wront with my tires. Guys, I generally dont review any dealer. But after this horrible experience which will cost me about 600 $s to repair. I just wanted to warn future customers.

Thanks to mieneke i have to buy a new engine for my car.. got my oil changed and told me to come back in 2500 miles. I didnt check my dipstick when i left (my mistake) and had no oil leaks at all. 2000 miles later my engine started knocking.. i took it to my mechanic and he said i had less than half the amount of oil my car needed. My engine now is done. And i have to buy a new one. I would strongly recommend finding somewhere else to get a cheap oil change. Or learn from my mistake and always check your oil level after leaving this joke of a business And the price i have to pay now is $3500 for the damage mieneke did to my car
