While our overall moving experience was alright, it was a tumbling experience in terms of information and transparency. When calling Tucson Moving Service we were asked the usual information and then discussed rates. They let us know their rate, which is charged hourly. At this point, they let us know they also offered additional services in case we werent fully packed when they arrived. These services included packing, boxing, etc. Even though we wouldnt needed this service we asked how much this would cost which they replied "Its one flat rate. It doesnt matter what we do, we just charge one flat rate for the time." On moving day, the movers were an hour late--which they did call us to let us know they were having problems with the truck. They ended up finding another truck to use and arrived at our home. When they arrived they let us know of some charges: A truck fee, a fee from their shop to our home, a fee for any shrink wrap they needed to use, and a fee to box anything (okay). They then asked if we were aware of these charges to which we replied "No." When we called we werent told about any of these fees, in fact he kept stressing the flat, hourly rate when I asked about any other fees/charges for other services. So imagine our surprise when we find out that were out hundreds of dollars the moment they arrive on our doorstep! I immediately called their manager wherein he told me he could ask his guys to leave, but could remove the trip fee because of the miscommunication. If we werent in a bind for moving on that day we wouldve asked them to leave. The driver was apologetic and the two men proceeded to work. Halfway through, they said they werent sure if our stuff would fit on the truck and they would need to make two trips. This is the same "replacement" truck they had to use because their other truck was broke. Not only that, we were told we would need to pay the trip fee if this was the case. Um, your truck your problem. Nonetheless they ended up making it in one trip. Our house was fully packed when they arrived and my husband ended up helping where he could because the movers were not the fastest. They arrived at 9:30 a.m. and finished around 6 p.m. Our home was 3bd and 2,000 sq ft. While we wouldnt say avoid them completely, make sure they are upfront about all information and even require they come to your home to give you an estimate beforehand (although we have used several other moving companies who did not come to our home beforehand and did not have these same issues). Personally, we wouldnt use them again and have already saved one coworker from making the same mistake.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY CHARGED ME 3X WHAT I WAS QUOTED! AND BROKE ITEMS AND DAMAGED TWO PEICES OF FURNITURE! TWO OUT OF THREE OF THE GUYS SENT WERE NICE BUT THE THIRD GUY WAS SLAMMING MY FURNITURE AND BOXES AROUND LIKE THEY WERE TRASH. I CALLED THE PHONE NUMBER FOR THE COMPANY WITHIN TWO HOURS OF THEM LEAVING. THE GUY WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE WOULD NOT GIVE ME HIS NAME OR POSITION EVEN THOUGH I ASKED 5X. AT THE END HE SAID HIS NAME AND SAID HE WAS THE OWNER. I TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED HE ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO GIVE ME ANY MONEY FOR THE DAMAGES TO MY FURNITURE OR BROKEN ITEMS! MY BILL FOR MOVING FROM A ONE BEDROOM ON THE EASTSIDE TO THE NW SIDE WAS $971 I HAVE USED LOCAL MOVERS IN TUCSON MANY TIMES IN THE LAST 20YRS. AND ITS NEVER BEEN MORE THAN $500 I DO HAVE QUITE A BIT OF STUFF BUT ACTUALLY HAVE MUCH LESS THAN PRIOR MOVES! I HAVE MOVED ALL MY LIFE AND THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! ALSO WHEN THEY SHOWED UP THEY WERE DRIVING A TRUCK THAT HAD A DIFFERENT NAME ON IT THAN THE BILL OF SALE. IT MAKES ME THINK THEY GO BY DIFFERENT NAMES! I PLAN TO FIND OUT WHO REALLY OWNS THIS COMPANY AND SMALL CLAIMS COURT IS DEFINITELY IN THEIR FUTURE!!!!

I was looking for movers to move my belongings to my new home in Indiana. I was relocating due to a job and was required to start working in about two weeks so I started my research and was checking a few companies and got basically the same vague answers about weight measurements etc. I decided to go with a flat rate from Tucson Moving Service. I felt much more comfortable knowing how much Im being charged for before Im giving away position of my items. The crew I had was very professional and easy to to work with. Lawrence and Manny work well together and got everything delivered in perfect condition. I was really happy with the fact it only took a week to deliver and gave me some time to organize my place and prepare for my work without all the stress thats usually involved in moving. If youre in Tucson and looking for a Tucson moving company, I would recommend giving them a call and hear what they have to say and suggest to help you, it made a big difference in my moving experience and took the stress away from me and my family.

Do NOT use this company. The movers were slow... you are paying them by the hour, so the longer they take the more they make. The company also will make you pay for their movers to take smoking breaks. The manager first told me he would reimburse me some money for the smoke breaks, after I called to complain while it was happening. Then, at the end of the day when we were discussing the final amount he reneged on that promise and said he wouldnt reimburse me any money at all. They scratched and broke furniture, and damaged my bikes. They also showed up 45 minutes late. When I called to ask where they were, the manager told me that the "scheduled" time is really just an "estimate". Due to their tardiness I missed the gas company at my new place by 30 minutes. They couldnt come back until the next day so I had to take an unpaid day off from work to ensure I would be there. This moving company is dishonest, to say the least, do NOT use them.

Filed a police report with this company today after being threatened over the phone when calling about a moving inquiry. I liked their google reviews and overall stars. Thought id give em a call as I have been with multiple other moving companies. Some guy named david was speaking with me. When asking basic questions like rates and fees, how big their trucks are, I was told "to stop worrying about it and let them do their job". Appalled, I asked to speak to a different person, specifically someone higher up.. then I was told "whatever you wanna say to a manager or owner you can say to me". I could not BELIEVE the attitude this guy came at a customer with over the phone. After a few words about how he should not be talking to me that way, he said "oh I have your address too, Ill be there." I had to immediately call the police. CRAZY people on the other end of that phone number.

This review is based off of customer service and my experience when I obtained rates from this moving service. I called Wed. and obtained rates for a move in 17 days. Then called Friday to confirm the reservation, but somehow the rates went up $20/hr. This is after I told him where I lived. I was told because I was moving on a Saturday it costs more. I informed him that with the initial quoted I told him I was moving on a Saturday and it was still $20/hr cheaper. Then he said "If youre making such a big deal about $20/ hour then were not the company for you." Yes, I agree. This is definitely not the company for me. I dont TRUST people who dont stick to their word. If prices get inflated for absolutely no reason then who knows what hidden fees and costs there will be at the end of the move.
