I had to make arrangements long distance and found the staff at this facility, helpful, accommodating and friendly. When I arrived in town, they showed me the unit I had reserved, which was clean and ready for occupancy. They also showed me how to use the lock and access the unit, using the elevator keypad. They have hand trucks available for use and parking next to the elevator, which made unloading and transport easy and efficient. A big thank you to the staff for your excellent customer service! A year and a half later: I am adding this later post since I have now ended my stay at A-1 Storage in Belmont California. Antonio and JP have both been the most helpful, customer service oriented staff that I have ever encountered. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to coordinate with a professional organizer I hired, to move things out of storage on my behalf when I needed to be out of town. They are polite, patient courteous and have performed well beyond my expectations. I truly felt as if the contents are well protected and safe in this facility. I wish every interaction I have could be so easy and accommodating. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Antonio and JP. I will recommend this storage facility to friends and use them again without hesitation, if needed.

Back in July, I(Cynthia Behrend) had the good fortune to have JP & James at the front desk. They were courteous & patient while answering my many questions and very helpful in finding the correct size & location for our storage needs…now fast forward to 10/2 @ 5:15pm.Thats when I arrived @ A-1 Storage with my movers to unload my storage unit. While the movers were unloading my unit I went to the office to do the paper work. JP explained that the A-1 Storage in Oakland would be closed by the time we arrived. He confirmed my reservation in Oakland. He explained how the kiosk worked. He gave us detailed directions to the location of the storage unit AND he gave me his phone# just in case I had difficulty with the kiosk. When the kiosk didnt respond, I called JP(it was 8pm) & he was able to help me find my reservation. Because of JPs extraordinary customer service I was able to complete the move before 10pm. I am very grateful, thank you.

Ive been renting a unit at A-1 in Belmont for several years. In all this time, Ive never been anything but completely satisfied by the quality of service, availability, and professional, friendly attention of the employees. Theyve always been extremely helpful when Ive had a question or problem, and always ready with a smile or a friendly word. Furthermore, JP and James do an outstanding job of maintaining a clean and well-run facility, as exemplified by their consistent efforts to keep the place clean and safe (despite the unfortunate sloth/laziness of others who seem to feel it is their right to leave their trash or unwanted belongings behind!). JP and James are always on the move with upkeep and ever ready to lend a helping hand! And the results are obvious to see: the cleanest, best-kept storage unit rental facility on the Peninsula! Thank you guys!! Youre awesome!

WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT A1 WAS JUST BLOCKS FROM MY NEW APT I HAD TO CHECK THEM OUT AND I AM GLAD THAT I DID! I RENTED ONE OF THEIR MONTHLY SPECIALS A 10X15 ONLY 10 DOLLARS MORE THAN THE REGULAR 10X10! IT WAS THE PERFECT SOLUTION FOR ME AND I GOT THE FIRST MONTH FREE! NOT ONLY THAT BUT WHEN I WENT IN TO RENT THE SPACE, WHICH I HAD RESERVED ONLINE, JAMES UPGRADED ME TO A MUCH BETTER SPACE LOCATED MUCH CLOSER TO THE ELEVATOR WITH EASIER ACCESS. AWESOME! IT IS SO WELL RUN AND CONVENIENT. THEY SEND YOU AN EMAIL EVERY MONTH, A FEW DAYS BEFORE YOUR RENT IS DUE AND YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO SET UP AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS ONLINE,SO YOU ARE NEVER LATE WITH YOUR RENT. ALSO, ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ABOUT A1 IS THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO SIGN A LEASE AND YOU CAN CANCEL AT ANYTIME. GREAT!!

I love the staff that works here. JP is the guy who manages it, and is always super helpful. Any time Ive called on the phone if hes in the facility doing something and has to be away from the desk, he always picks up and comes right to the office to help. Theyre super friendly and keep the place spotless! My last storage facility in the town I lived in previously was a mess, and so dirty. I was and continue to be amazed at how spotless this facility is! Love that I can access my unit so easily as well. He found me two units next to one another on the same floor which is super convenient! Thanks JP and James at A-1 in Belmont!!!

These guys were great! Was in a rush to get my things moved out of storage one weekend, and was only able to do it while office hours were close, so I wasnt able to close my account. The following week was extremely busy as well, so I didnt get around to calling them to cancel. But, to my surprise, I received an email saying they had found my unit unlocked and empty during their routine walk through, so they closed my account for me so I wouldnt be build for extra time that I wasnt using the unit. But also said they can open my account right back up if closing was not my intention. This is a great, clean, and well kept place!

Great experience with A-1 Self Storage. Everyone was incredibly professional, courteous and helpful. The facility is very modern and clean. And when you reserve a unit, they tell you the unit number and guarantee that its yours. Such a wonderful contrast from the clowns/crooks at Public Storage, where you reserve online and then you show up and they tell you that they dont have that unit anymore, but they have a different unit at a worse price. I will definitely use A-1 again if I need storage space.

We needed a storage space for the equipment we use to run a 2 week Girl Scout Day Camp once a year. Lots of buckets and cooking utensils and so much more. Everyone at the office has been so very wonderful to us. Got the key stuck once and they were right there to help. The halls, the elevator and the exterior are always clean and neat. We will be going to a larger unit so all our equipment can be in one location. Again, they were terrific in helping us with the paperwork, etc.

When the time comes, on moving out or Moving stuff in a hurry, this is the storage company you should trust. After I talk to JP and Antonio the costumer service at the desk, they give me the reason why: Trust, cainest, security and great experience on explaining everything, they found me the right size when I really struggle, besides the paper work was 1,2,3 smooth. I recommend them please talk to them before you run into another storage. Thx JP and Antonio.

Did some web research and visited A-1 based on price and location. James at the front desk was polite and efficient - traits often at odds with one another - and the facility was clean and very professional in appearance. Signed up for a unit on the spot! Good access hours, clean, newish building, competitive rates and most importantly, a very secure feeling environment all made the decision easy.
