I brought my car in for an oil change at this Firestone store because it was within minutes from my home. Last year we had taken our other 2 cars here for the same thing with no problems. Prior to leaving my house, I found a coupon on the Internet for $21.99 which beat Jiffy Lubes $26.99 coupon. As I was pulling into their parking lot, I noticed a sign that advertised an oil change for $19.99. Great, that was even better than my coupon I thought. I go in and Im greeted by Mark. I tell him I need an oil change and as hes entering my info in the computer, he tells me about their "Fall Car Care Special" for $17.99 that includes tire rotation, tire inspection, vehicle inspection, electronic battery check, etc. Sounds like a good deal so I decide to get it since my tires were most likely due for rotation. The total came to $56.09. Wait, not so fast! I show Mark my coupon and he tells me that I cant use it because my car needs "high mileage oil." So much for a $21.99 or $19.99 oil change, which by the way, what kind of car uses this type of oil? A lawn mower? Anyway, over an hour later my car is done and Im told that there is a nail in the right front tire that is irreparable ($125.43 for new tire). Also, I would be due for a new timing belt in less than 3,000 miles ($524.38). Really? The timing belt was changed at 82,000 miles. The next day, I take off work early and take my car in to the place that normally does my tires and brakes which is owned by my brother-in-law. He tells me he could patch the tire (no charge) but that all 4 tires are UNSAFE to drive on because they are ALL split. I ask him what he would do if this was his car and he said he wouldnt drive the car until all 4 tires were replaced. He again emphasized the word UNSAFE, oh and he also added the word scary. I told him that I just had the tires rotated and inspected and that the only thing they could find wrong with the tires was a nail in the right front tire. He said that a shop that only does oil changes wouldnt necessarily notice the split in the tires. I told him I took it to a place that is known for tires (Firestone) and he just couldnt believe it. By the way, hes been in the tire/brake business since the early 70s so I think he knows what hes talking about. After I picked up my car with the new tires, I drove back to Firestone just to confirm that they did inspect the tires. I was told by Trevor(?) that they did. I told him about the split in my tires and having to replace all of them and asked him why they didnt notice it. He asked me if I saw the splits in the tires and I told him I didnt and that I have no reason to doubt my brother-in-law. He said without being able to look at the tires (really, you want a second chance?) all he could say is he stands by the work of his employees. I told him I wasnt about to load 4 worthless tires in my Honda Accord just to show him. That just makes me question the rest of the inspection and makes me wonder what other surprises are in store for me because of this so-called "Fall Car Care Special." Im not happy that the $21.99 didnt apply to my car, nor did their advertised $19.99 special (no fine print on the sign either). Also, they failed to see the split in all 4 tires and let me drive away on unsafe tires! Buyer beware, especially if youre a female! Okay, yeah I wouldnt have ever known about the split in the tires if not for their "Special" but wouldnt you think a tire store would notice the bad tires and want to sell me 4 new ones? Shame on that employee. He lost the sale of 4 tires plus a customer!

I have been so happily surprised by the service and honesty of Firestone in El Dorado Hills. My husband was a mechanic who always took care of our cars. Right after he passed away I was taken advantage of by another auto repair (Cameron Park). I then switched to Firestone and I have been completely satisfied. They are honest and trustworthy. I trust them enough to send my daughter to them. Erin is awesome, go see him.

Vehicle developed metalic noise after having brakes and shocks replaced. Informed shock housing was bad, new shocks ordered and appt made. This was to be 1 hr job.(no charge) On appt day, was told 2 hrs. waited for vehicle 3.5 hours. This location needs help. Customer service and managers lacking. Will not return to this location.

Had my oil changed and tires rotated. I thought I should have my tires rotated every time I had my oil changed but they told me that was a littler excessive so I didnt do it. Overall it went as planned. I was in and out as fast as one would expect and I got charged what they told me they would up front. Ill be back.
