Everything was perfect...except for the weather! The staff team are amazing--taking care of any request and making for a fun and interesting week (Even finding great alternatives when we were rained out). All meals by Chef Jim were incredible and we learned so much about Burgogne wines from the charming Cat--wine steward and all-around care taker. Kudos to French barge captain and tour guide Melissa and barge pilot Eric. And last but not least is Crystal Groome who organized our pre-tour in Dijon and Beaune before we joined the LArt de Vivre in Auxerre on the lovely Canal de Nivernais (recommended as the best canal by Rick Steeves). No request was denied...like the daily bicycle tours and personalized transportation. If you want a personalized barge trip...call Crystal! Jay & Diana (San Francisco)

From start to finish it was the trip of a lifetime. Barge Connections took care of every detail. was easy to work with and really found the boat that met our needs. The crew of the Athos were friendly and provided extraordinary service. Accomodations are comfortable and luxurious. My favorite spot was on deck sitting and sipping wine and taking in the beautiful countryside. Gourmet food with wine parings was second to none. Day trips were places of historical and cultural interest ...and fun! Cant say enough about this experience cant wait for my next barge adventure.

Incredible trip where we just showed up and our 42 foot motorcraft was waiting for us!! Spent 10 days cruising down the Canal du Midi in southern France visiting castles, small villages and stopping whenever and wherever we wanted. The crew was flawless, professional and caring. The cruise was scenic and beautiful. Visits to 3 towns included 2 magnificent churches, guided with great detail by Melissa. The food, wine and scenery were very memorable. Too much rain led to not enough hiking, but everything else was perfect.
