Ive been a Honda driver for 25 years, with a couple of "detours" to other brands that sent me back to Honda pretty quickly. Im brand loyal, but I feel like Ive seen the good and the bad in terms of dealerships. Today I bought my second Certified Used Honda from this dealership. I bought the first one five years ago and was very satisfied with the experience. Our family has 3 Hondas, all of which weve brought here for service for many years. The service dept has had its ups and downs in the past, but I have been very impressed with their willingness to make things right when we brought problems to their attention. The problems were service related - the work on the cars has always been stellar. In the past year, no problems at all and the service has been stellar. Todays buying experience was very happy. I had spotted a used car that sounded promising on the website inventory and knew it wasnt going to last long. I went in, was treated courteously, allowed plenty of time to play with everything, make a test drive, make up my mind etc. While I was meeting with the business manager, the salesperson (Jen Adams) noticed a small chip in the windshield, and notified me of it. She said that they would fix it, no expense to me. It was something that could have been passed over, but she made sure I was HAPPY. I cant account for other peoples experiences, this is just my own. After two happy buying experiences and long-term satisfaction with this Honda dealership, I am not going anywhere else.

Honda of Oakland had a car that we wanted to buy. First, we subjected to all of the usual "used car sales tricks" - e.g. false sense of urgency "I can only get you a deal today", "putting a down payment shows the credit unions your commitment to pay", "this car will not be here for very long" (btw - we found a sales report left in the car that said it was on the lot for 31 days already). I let him know that I did not appreciate the tactics and suggested we could have a more successful negotiation if we were to forego the BS. Will Jones, our sales associate, came back with for trade-in and purchase price estimates. We clearly stated we wanted to the car but were concerned about the trade-in value offered and that we wanted some time to think about selling the car privately. Will then said the numbers he was showing us were a first proposal and asked what it would take to buy the car right then. We gave our first proposal for an even trade. He then came back and said to give the key back and that we could not make a deal today - although the word choice was polite his tone was aggressive and angry. This after I stated I would buy the car (I have excellent credit) but didnt know if I wanted to do the trade in. Honda of Oakland turned away a sure-thing sale. Its clear to me that they have a culture and training problem with their staff if associates are allowed to treat people this way. I would suggest that you find your car at another dealership.

Isaac the Sales consultan was awsome seller who knew what I wanted and made me well aware of everything that was going on. He even offered to set my phone up to the new 2017 Ridgeline Sport after purchase. He is a really nice seller who I have bought 2 Hondas with him and I live in San Jose. Carl Curry the Sales Manager is a very friendly person who made it possible to drive home with a nice Ridgeline. After we made a deal we went to pay for the new Vehicle, the Lady who did not introduce her self, but I saw her placker in the room said RODRIGUEZ. She had a nasty attitude, making faces at me because she wanted to go home. She was complaining IN FRONT OF ME TELLING IT TO MY FACE I WANT TO GO HOME. I want to drive my new vehicle, but im not complaining. She needs to be gone and that is saying it nicely. She also ignored questions that I asked her such as "Why are you filling out an IRS form?" My Credit is in the 800s and I did not pay over 10,000 with cash. After constant asking she gave me rude awser "Because I feel like it!!!". I told her I did not pay over 10k in cash so why?. Again told me the same, in my view she made it her job to not purchase the vehicle constantly denying forms of payment. I was close to leaving as she was making my purchase a mistake. Overall Carl and Isaac thank you! The lady needs major work with how she interacts with clients. Heck looks like she is in the wrong job.

Ive leased 2 vehicles (a Fit and an Accord) from Honda of Oakland. Weve also purchased two others (an Odyssey and another Accord) at this dealership. Ive always had a pleasant experience with my preferred salesperson, Robin Takata. Shes very informative, pleasant, and brutally honest. I like that. I feel like I have a person I can trust. My experiences with this dealership is all positive. Its almost like going to a department store to get the stuff you need, pay for it, and leave. Its that simple. They really try to earn your business by meeting your needs and budget and disclosing all your options. I have recommended this dealership to a few other friends and they too agreed that their experiences in dealing with Robin and the managers were very pleasant and positive. I have only been to their service department twice, and in each time, I dealt with Sammy Velasco. Hes a very pleasant guy to deal with also. He always wear a smile that makes you feel welcome and tells you what your car needs, but doesnt press you too hard to get things done when you decline some of the services. Its so hassle-free. There is a Honda dealership which is 10 minutes away from my house, but I prefer to drive 40 minutes to Honda of Oakland to get the treatment I deserve. I would definitely recommend Robin and this dealership to anyone who wants to purchase a Honda.

I scheduled an appointment online, and i was surprise that i got a call after a couple of hours the same day. However, when i went there and asked the guy how long it will take,he said 2 hours.and i was like,2 hours for an oil change? i was planning on taking my car to where i usually have the service done but decided that i should try honda oakland since it is the closest one from where i live. I went home first so that my bf can get his car so i dont have to wait for 2 hrs. we came back and told the guy that i wanted the oil change done.i asked him again and he said that it willl be done by around 4ish. i took my car at 1:30. After that,I left my car, went to target and safeway to do my groceries, and around 4pm,the havent called me.so i decided to call them, and the guy was a rude saying that my car was not done and theyre still working on it.I was like, are u serious? its been 2 1/2 hours and its just an oil change. we decided to go back even if they havent call us back,we decided to wait in their customer room, the guy was rude, never apologized, and seemed like not really interested in helping out. This is my first time to go there and will never come back. I guess theyre just good with their regular customers and not the newbies. I was disappointed.
