Bottom Line: Sami and his team are just what my title says... Competent, Fair and Honest. If youre interested in the details, please read further. ==== First, Im not the easiest guy to work with. I tend to overthink things, complicate things and make it harder for computer people to get their job done. I dont di it on purpose... its just my nature. I know I tested Samis patience more than once. However, all through this he was a perfect gentleman and a pleasure to work with. -- My computer died 8/09 and I looked around the Oceanside area for a quality company to fix my machine. Unfortunately my hard drive gave up and damaged parts of itself so it presented a particularly difficult problem for Sami and the gang at PC Repair Center. -- To make matters worse, I had a bunch of programs and years old data on the drive, This made it more difficult to bring it back from the dead. -- Sami and his team were able to retrieve the most crucial programs and data, and fortunately I had backups for the rest. I was so impressed with their honesty and competency that I upgraded to a whole new system, plus I purchased a laptop. -- Sami built and configured both the desktop and laptop so that they are very fast, reliable and the latest in technology at the time we did this. He also brought in his networking guy to configure both the desktop and laptop so I can control either one from the other one. -- If youve read this far, first thank you, and secondly it means youre looking for someone with the qualities I found in PC Repair Center. I wish you well and I know I dont have to wish you good luck as working with Sami you wont need any. Nathaniel

The economic crisis has left a lot of technicians and "discount shops" looking very bad. Case in point is PC Repair Center. These guys were supposedly at the former PC Club that was across El Camino Real (PC Club closed its doors after 16-17 years in business and after the death of its founder in 2005). I found their attitude rather snobbish and, frankly, condescending. I couldnt count how many times he said "We only deal with high-end systems." Excuse me??? I had a quad-core that was running hot and I wanted to put cooling on the SDRAM, upgraded processor cooling and a slot air filter. I record original music and do large-format Photoshop projects. These quad cores cost $500 at Costco and I wanted to protect my investment. The idiot tried to quote me $600 for the "modifications" on this supposed piece of crap. The market is such (at the time of this writing) that computer prices have dropped considerably. The economy is the worst in decades and, to keep product flowing, discounting has been maximized. After I laughed out loud, I suggested that he attract flies with honey, not vinegar. This place probably needed to make rent and thought hed do it with me. If you must go here, dont drive up in a Ferrari and dont wear your Movado! Bottom line, I will never, ever give them my business and I will suggest to my friends, acquaintances and anybody wholl listen that this place isnt on the up-and-up.

Had a PC with issues and brought it into the shop. I told them I was pretty sure it was a RAM issue— I didnt have any spare sticks so I was hoping they could do a quick RAM swap and test. End up having to pay for a full $50 full service because of policy, come back later to pick it up, they tell me its a RAM issue after all. So I go buy the new sticks of RAM, swap out the sticks, still no dice. After some of my own troubleshooting (didnt want to spend another $50) figure out I need a new motherboard as well. Buy the motherboard, hook everything up with the new RAM, everything is good to go. Out of curiosity, I stick the old sticks of RAM back in, everything works fine. TL;DR told them I might have a RAM issue, pay $50 for them to tell me its true, then find out RAM was fine the entire time and that it was a motherboard issue. EDIT: The store contacted me about getting a refund shortly after, and just got my money back with no hassle. Great customer service, unfortunate things didnt work out.

Update: the owner contacted my wife and smoothed everything over. Im glad that he was looking out for us after all. Im leaving my original comments below in case anyone has similar issues. Im changing the review from 1 to 4 stars now that the problem has been addressed. Brought in a working iPad with a cracked screen. We were quoted "a few days." Then they had to order the right parts so we were re-quoted "5-7 business days." 3 WEEKS later, my wife leaves the store in tears because, not only did they not fix the screen, but they returned it to her in a bag full of pieces. Obviously we were not charged but their only concessions were to say sorry and tell us that were in the same boat as when we brought it in. A working iPad with a cracked screen is not the same as a bag full of pieces. Take your Apple products elsewhere and let this terrible business fail.

They managed to save me about 600 dollars when it came to fixing my mother board on an expensive gaming laptop. They can solder very well. BUT when I got my laptop back the lacked attention to detail. After 10 mins on my computer I started to notice since problems. My speakers werent working neither was a fan. I opened the back to find my speakers, bass, cable for my WiFi NIC card and PROCESSOR FAN was all unplugged still. The wire for my speakers was stuck under the motherboard so I had to remove some things that most people couldnt do unless you understood computers. They did manage to fix the main issue, but reassembling they missed a lot of minor stuff.

Without a doubt, the BEST customer service I have experienced in years. This is the 3rd time I have needed their services, and they did not disappoint. Only $49. for them to diagnose, and that gets applied toward whatever the repair is. In a time when there is almost no such thing as customer service, it feels good to find and use a business that is completely customer oriented. I refer everyone I can to them.

I was visiting from out of state when my laptop just stopped working. I found them at random online, took my laptop in the morning, and was called that same afternoon with a diagnosis. After a quick turnaround, my computer was working well again. Their charge was quite reasonable and they were extremely professional and personable.

Every time I have used PC Repair Center I have been thrilled with the results. Three computers and our ipad have all been repaired. They are very friendly, very affordable and helpful. They also have the best price on the Survival ipad cover. After many visits we continue to be happy and appreciate the reliable work.

On a Sunday, my workhorse PC would not start up. I took it to Sammy and he had it back to me fully operational the same day. He found & replaced a failed memory chip. The service was magnificent and the cost was surprisingly reasonable. Sammy could set the standard for ALL service providers. An A+++++ experience!
