This is hilarious. I cant believe people actually take the time to review a post office. You bring your mail there. Its not Chuck E. Cheeses. If the people at the counter are jerks and you dont want to deal with them, buy a time machine, travel back to 2000 and print your postage online. All you have to do then is just walk in and put it on the counter. No need to wait in line or talk to some borderline-suicidal postal worker. Nathan, heres some advice for you. First off, stop whining. Second, UPS, FedEx, and the USPS are all separate companies competing with each other. I see that youre not native to the U.S. and I dont know what economic system whatever country you come from has, but we live in the wonderful world of capitalism. That means that UPS, FedEx, and the USPS dont care about you. Their C.E.Os dont lay awake at night agonizing over whether you got the cashmere scarf you ordered or if someone with a horrible sense of fashion stole the box off your porch. Theyre too busy counting their money and figuring out how to get more of it. They dont want to help each other unless it benefits them. Sometimes they do have FedEx and UPS packages sent to them for final residential delivery, but thats only because its beneficial to all parties. Now that Ive reviewed the people reviewing the post office, Ill offer some legitimate advice. If you dont want your packages sitting on the porch all day and you dont want your roommates to sign for them (because apparently you decided to move in with criminals), have the packages shipped directly to a UPS or FedEx Store. Theyll hold it until you can come pick it up. Some of them are even open 24 hours. It doesnt cost anything and its easy to do. You may even strike up a conversation about cashmere with the handsome gentleman behind the counter while youre there. Who knows, maybe youll end up with another kind of package. But seriously, stop whining. No one likes to hear whining and its unbecoming of someone who boldly rocks a cashmere sweater and yells "Lookout world! Cashmere Nathan is here to get his hands on a big package!" Take all the complaining and put it in an email to the USPS customer service department. Theyre actually quite helpful, at least in my experience.

10 / 22 / 2014 I am very angry the united states postal service does not let the united postal service or fedex drop packages at their office if I am not available to sign for a package. I am not comfortable with the united postal service leaving a package on my doorstep if I am not there. I think since there are no other options they should provide this service. Consider my situation: I need or I am planning to buy something online, but I might not be here to sign for it when I do, and I dont want the united postal service to leave it outside where some scumbag has access to it. If its something that takes me six months to save for, I need to make sure it is safe. Since the post office does not (as far as I know) let the united postal service keep it at their office until I can pick it up, this creates and unsolvable problem for me until somebody comes out and offers a solution. Thats why Im complaining about the post office because I have no options and need something shipped. i have been waiting an extra day or possible and extra 3 months because one of my roomates signed fr my package and stole it.. i have asking them if they can refund to my visa because i did not receieve my package and i dont like other people signing for it. i may follow up later...

Had a package stuck in "missent/rerouting" hell for a week as it made circles between two post offices. Called the USPS, they said theyd investigate and get back to me. 2 days later, "Sammy" from the Royal Oaks Post Office calls to give me some news. Tells me to call him back - I call the number (the same one listed for this post office) and it rings, and rings, and rings ... 75 rings later, the phone company cuts off the call, as they do. No answering machine, no answer, nothing. Then I try the two other numbers I can find for this same post office (one is the number caller ID lists the call came from). Same thing. Finally, on my fifth call to the first number, someone picks up after 32 rings. And then promptly says "goddamn" and hangs up the phone on me before I can say anything. They call me back the next day again, and rudely tell me "you were really hard to get ahold of." Really? Try answering your phone. Not a friendly office - and theyre not fulfilling their responsibilities to the parent organization, who now after my letter to the USPS OIG has to investigate why a staffer is giving out a number that they have no interest in answering. I am a big fan of the USPS, but the staff of this post office give that organization a bad name.

Submitted an on-line mail forwarding from Sacramento, CA 95815 to Carmichael, CA 95608 on 10/1/13 for period 10/3/13 to 11/7/13, no forwarded mail is being received. After 14 days I contacted the Royal Oaks Post Office on three separate days. I was told it would be taken care of and I asked to be called back for confirmation and they agreed to do so. As of this date (10/18/13) the forwarding has not been completed and no one returned a call to explain. I am now on hold waiting (30minutes) to discuss with supervisor. This is not the first time I have had difficulty getting this post office to complete requested actions. A postal manager need to see what the issues are at this location. Update 10/19/13, setting record straight... fault was at the Carmichael, CA post office NOT Royal Oaks, a sub postal employee did not handle the transfer correctly, finally receive mail today 16 days after requested forwarding. Postal supervisor at Carmichael was helpful and followed up to get the mail in our hands, good job by Patrick, appreciate his efforts.

Not only do the people behind the desks have a "holier than thou" attitude, as everyone else has mentioned, the service sucks! Ive had packages sent to me, certified usually because the sender thinks itll be handled more delicately no matter whats enclosed. I took pictures and reported, my mangled, poorly re-taped package and had asked to speak to the manager and my delivery man, neither one had an answer to why it took them a week to tell me I had something here, OR why it was handled so poorly. Slipping the pink slip in junk mail is a poor excuse. As far as letters go, yesterday I found in my box a "sorry we missed you" note, saying they had come to my door at 8 am to deliver certified mail, when actually they were just too lazy to do it, so it was just slipped into my box. Its not like any of these reviews are just minuscule, if its federal offense to open my mail. Shouldnt there be some sort of repercussion for the post office workers who do this?? Ugh!

I had a package that said delivered and wasnt anywhere to be found. I tried calling the post office to find out where it could be. No one would answer the phone for hours. I finally got a hold of someone. Asked for a supervisor, put on hold and then someone got on and said hello. I asked if they were the supervisor and she said they were on lunch. She asked if she could help. I told here the story and she said I had to contact amazon. I asked if we could find out where is was scanned maybe at the wrong house. She replied we cant and it says delivered. She also said she need to hurry cause she had a customer at her window. I told her my problem is number one right now. I asked her to have a supervisor call me. She took my name and number and said they might call. I asked her to make sure they called and she hung up on me. I didnt appreciate the way she handled it and probably didnt give them my number. They never called.
