There are a few things about Security Public Storage that really stand out as being a cut above other storage facilities I have used in the past: 1) The awesome staff - always helpful and informative with a dash a friendly mixed in 2) They let you know right away if your payments are late or if there are any issues so you can resolve them right away (before any late fees are tacked on). Most storage places wont go that extra mile, like shoot you an e-mail, or give you a ring before the official mail notice goes out. 3) The place is indeed kept very clean, and the dollys provided are huge, with solid bottoms, so you can load plenty of stuff on them and roll them into the elevators no problem. 4) The safety of your stuff matters to them: Ive been digging through my stuff until after the office closes on occasion, and there is always a guard posted or roaming around to be sure everybodys ok. The security gate helps me feel like my things are secure, too. In addition, the indoor hallways are lit by motion-sensors, so as soon as you get to the hallways, the hallways light up bright enough to see inside the units even after it gets dark outside. 5) The prices are fair and reasonable, and they give you detailed warnings well in advance if they will be raising them for any reason. 6) Location is convenient. My fiance and I are in fact considering renting a larger storage unit now that we are living together, cramped with extra stuff in a small apartment, and expecting a baby. If we end up getting a larger storage unit instead of a bigger apartment, we will definitely get it at Security Public Storage.

I was looking for a storage unit with a central location of my work area, Redwood City to Coastside to San Francisco. I called around and looked online and found that pretty much everywhere had a month discount in the beginning. I thought that was a good deal so I should worry more about location than price. Then I found out that these places had admin fees, must purchase their lock, and other random fees that I dont know what theyre for. When I walked into Security Public Storage I was greeted by Desiree, a very kind and happy woman working the desk. She was pleased to help me get the storage unit at a better deal than the rest. A month and a half discount, no admin fees, and I could use my own lock. Awesome! I was moving into my new unit within 20 mins and couldnt be happier with thier customer service. This site is very secure. Each unit is alarmed, motion sensor security cameras, and gate code required to enter facility. And the gate hours begin at 5 am. Great for a contractor who picks up tools and equipment early in the morning. Great Job Security Public Storage! and Desiree, Thank You Huntley

I have been a customer of Security Public Storage for three months and have been very satisfied with both the facility and the customer service. The storage areas are clean and well-lit, and very secure - outside fence, individually locked and alarmed storage units - with convenient drive-up/parking access and plentiful carts for moving items. Ive *never* had to deal with leaks, insects/rodents or even an out-of-service elevator! The staff have always been friendly and helpful, and are readily available during regular office hours (you may also purchase boxes, tape, locks and other storage materials in the office with a very good price). They also helped me unload my stuff. Place offers a variety of unit sizes, and I have consistently found their prices to be competitive. I found the 3 month 50% discounts that they offer financially very helpful. I definitely recommend SPS San Mateo to anyone looking for a self-storage solution.

When I signed up the storage, my intention was only a couple months, but I ended up having the storage a little longer. The services that provided from SM location, was amazing secure, the fact that the storages are not in the industrial area. This place is prime location and whenever I go to visit my storage, any days and any times, I felt like I wasnt going to a remote site. The storage is very clean and light every where. The price is very reasonable for those who are going hardship. The security camera were every corner and I felt safe having my storage at this location. The people at the front desk are very helpful and always seen to work with the customers. I am very happy and made the right decision by choosing SM location. Most of all I feel safe for me to go in and out any given days and time.

This is a well run and clean facility. It is well-located near Hwys 101 and 92 in San Mateo, CA. The other day the owner called us to tell us that our lock had not securely fastened our storage unit. She assured us that no one entering the facility had opened our unit even though we had not seucurely fastened it. She knew this because each unit is protected by each users unique PIN code. If a unit is opened that has not had its PIN used to enter the premises, the management knows someone is breaking into someone elses storage unit. I was impressed with this level of security, and I was impressed that the owner took the time to call and advise me that we had left our unit unlocked. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a well-loacted, clean and secure storage facility. Wendy Morck

We have been clients at Security Public Storage for nearly 20 years. Their rates are competitive, our items are secure and the facility is well maintained and well lit. A few years back, I tried to save time and drove in behind another client without punching in my password. I got the surprise of my life when I opened my locker to hear alarms activated. In a matter of seconds, a Security Public Storage caretaker appeared to verify my identity and authorization to access my locker. It was then that I learned that punching in my password upon entry and exit was vital to the security of my locker. The various size lockers can serve anyones storage needs no matter how large or small.

John and Marianne have been perfect as new managers at SPS in San Mateo. They are very friendly and easy to talk with and they make a great team. They have been very helpful in circumstances and shown to be courteous sending reminders in your email to show your payment due date. When my wife and I have a situation with our storage unit, they always suggest ideas to help us,like for example,(to down size to a smaller unit and/or to qualify for a discount when we post a comment online and write a review and thats a great savings for us. We have been customers for four years and Like they say," It is a Great day at Security Public Storage."
