Ive always recommended this shop for they consistently have the best prices around, and they have great loaner cars for free to use even for a couple hours while mine was being fixed. Ive told dozens of friends about them over the years. Ive used this shop through two owners and the most recent owner has disappointed me on two occasions. First disappointment was minor, when I brought my truck in for some wheels to be changed and after leaving there without studying their work I later realized they snapped off some of the studs and some of the lug nuts were missing! Kindly enough, they offered to fix it for me and even buy the parts, if I would order them. So I went to the wonderful guys at Napa auto parts and they got the special parts in, but the garage had to be the ones to pick them up. They never called me to say they picked up the parts and when I stopped by to get them fixed and have my oil changed, they told me the parts had been sent back! Any way, they changed the oil and said they couldnt give me the coupon price becasue they lose money on the coupons, so I paid the extra $5. No big deal. And they said theyd still fix the studs and lug nuts next time I came in. Then came the biggest bummer of all. The oil filter was not installed tight enough and so much oil leaked out before I noticed the loose filter that the engine died and now I need a rebuild or new engine. When I looked under the truck to see where the oil was coming from< i could tighten the filter by hand almost 360 degrees. I am still in a bit of shock because I rely on my truck for so much all the time and dont have any savings to pay for a big repair and no jobs big enough on the horizon to pay for it.

I brought my car here the day before I drove from Sebastopol to Texas. I told them of my 1800 mile journey and got an oil change and asked them to make sure everything was in order for my long trip. They said it looked good to make the drive. I did not even get 90 miles from leaving their garage and my car overheated. I had to get a new radiator, water pump, 3 new hoses, and I almost blew the head gasket off my car if I had not pulled over so quickly. They did not even rotate my tires or flush my radiator. The hoses were not even connected correctly and visibly damaged. I took my car to two shops and they both told me the same thing (I did not want to be taken advantage of again). I will be calling the better business bureau. I told them what happened and they took no responsibility saying that they cannot diagnose a problem that had not occurred. The point of bringing any car into a shop is to prevent problems and to ensure safety and performance of your vehicle. It was absolutely ridiculous and just plain dangerous. Luckily I did not overheat in the desert. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I had to stay and wait for my car to be fixed for 2 days and missed the beginning of my job. They had nothing to say for themselves. This all could have easily been prevented if they had done their job correctly, which obviously they cannot do or even admit their mistakes. Extremely frustrating, expensive, dangerous, and pathetic. Go somewhere else.

Sonoma County Auto Care, formerly Neighborhood Auto Care (NEW OWNERSHIP) Saved me from being majorly ripped off by my own "neighborhood" auto shop who quoted me $275 for a tune up and $400 per axle for brakes (then quoted me $85 for a tune up when I called them just now....hmmm). These guys are fast, reliable and honest! They actually told me that I didnt need new brakes for a while so I focused on the tune up and oil change and am going back to have my air conditioning system fixed next week. Because of their excellent customer service , honesty and very reasonable prices I will take my car there for any service and repair needs. **I live in Marin County** but will make the trip out to Sebastopol to give them my business. The words Honest and Mechanic used to never mesh.. here it does!!

We have only had great experiences dealing with Neighborhood Auto Care. We have taken our vehicles to all the repair shops in and around Sebastopol over the years and Neighborhood Auto is the only place that I dont feel like Ive been taken advantage of. They are honest, knowledgeable, and very friendly. We have a newer Volvo and an 20 year old VW Passat. I take our cars to them for everything from a burned out headlight, oil changes, check engine light, new brakes to radiator repair and fuel pump replacement. They are excellent at explaining what needs to be done in straight forward language and will take the extra time to make sure you understand your options. Every time I leave their shop I feel that I have been charged a fair price for excellent work and exceptional customer service.

Im selling my car and went to get a few things checked out. Owner spent 15 minutes doing an engine check, giving me recommendations & educating me. Not only did he not charge me, he would not take any money when I offered. This business has a good owner with integrity. Hes on the younger side so hopefully he knows what he doesnt know ~ Id go back in a heartbeat.

Went in with a check engine light, they quickly solved the issue and didnt charge me or take money when i offered. Top notch service and professionalism. Went in for an oil change a week later, fast and friendly service, all my auto repairs and services will now go here, they have a customer for life

These are great folks-- fair, honest, reasonable, and kind. When my problem turned out bigger/longer than we thought, Nick gave us a loaner van, and did his best to keep the price from spiraling out of control. What more can you ask?
