I chose Wally and Sons based upon all of the positive feedback from google reviews but unfortunately my situation was not every positive. I have had to bring my 2006 Dodge Dakota in 3 times over the past 7 months and have spent close to $2,000 on various repairs. On my 2nd visit I had a small transmission leak and during the repair they found another $1,000 of work that they said should be done. I trusted the estimate because they seemed honest and told them to fix everything. When my truck was returned to me they said to bring it back after 500 miles so they could check their work. When i brought it back 2 weeks later I kindly informed them that since they returned it to me the engine had stalled and died 3 separate times, this was NOT something that was happening before and it started immediately after they returned the vehicle to me. A day later they returned the vehicle and said they couldnt find any issues but they decided to replace the ignition and said I owed them $100 for the work. I was shocked because I had just spent $1000 to have them "fix everything" and I explained that this engine stalling had to be related to whatever changes they had made to the vehicle when they last worked on it. They said by that justification anybody who comes to their shop once would come back again and expect free work and they would never make any money. Well seems to me if you do a quality job fixing a vehicle the first time then people wont be coming back all the time expecting "free work". I guess its all about the money for them. I wont be a repeat customer.

Generally, Im not one to go this route, however this sucked. What started out as an ok relationship, quickly became toxic after just 2 projects. They will quote you a nice low price to get you to have them do the work then all the sudden its more expensive when you go pick up your vehicle. Both times, they did not receive the correct parts on time and it took multiple trips (in the middle of my workday since they arent open otherwise) to get what should have been simple things done. This last time, I was quoted $336 for headlight assembly replacements. Well naturally the parts came in wrong, they did half the job and told me to come back. Then when they finished up, the cost was $420. I wasnt asked or consulted on any price increase AND it was the second chunk of time out of my workday to come have this done. When I inquired about any kind of discount/compromise due to all the time they had taken me out of work, and the fact that they hadnt consulted me for an increase over the quote, I was simply told "Sorry dude". Jamie was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Very poor customer/interpersonal skills on full display. Wont give another penny to them. "Steer" clear of this place or pay the (always increasing) price!

MY "AUTOMOTIVE NEEDS" HOME AWAY FROM HOME! I live in Seattle and for years had my trusty mechanic take care of my car. While on one of my visits to Beaverton, my car needed to be seen by the dealer for a recall on a part. The Honda dealership recommended $2500 in additional repairs. Unbeknownst to Honda, I had already set up an appointment with Wally & Son for that very afternoon. Keith (Wally & Son) recommended $350 in repairs. Based on the exceptional online reviews for Wally & Sons, I felt confident in his advice. My car has run like a charm since that repair and I felt the service provided by this company was even better than my own mechanic in Seattle. Regretfully my family member will be moving away from Beaverton — visits to Wally & Son will no longer be possible. However, as a sendoff, we will rent a moving truck from Wally & Sons! Mechanical repairs & oil changes at Wally & Sons has felt like a home with trusted family.

I have taken several cars to them over the years. With satisfacory results. The last several time, Ive been I have noticed a trent twards slower and slower response times. My car was in their shop for 4 business days without a word on status or estimate of cost for the issues I wanted them to look at. So I called them. He gave me a run down on the things they diagnosed, but had no estimates of costs. He said hed call me back with a quote. Two days later after not hearing from him I called and asked wheres the quote. He asked if he could call be back in an hour with the prices. I said never mind, Ill just pick my car up. So after a week of nothing, I have decided not to go to them again.

My husband and I are fairly new customers of Wallys, and we are very pleased with their service. We feel that they are straightforward and honest, and that they take the time to explain everything that theyve done, and even provide you with a printout of what has been done and also what still needs to be done in the future. My husband dropped the Mercury off yesterday to have a tune up and some other things done, and it was ready in the late afternoon like we had requested. We have had some bad experiences with other places, especially one where we felt we were really ripped off. We will continue to do business with Wallys in the future because we feel they are reliable and honest.

I had been having issues with overheating and needed to get it checked before a road trip. My heater was also blowing cold air. They told me were very busy but they could find time to diagnose the problem. They checked it out and told me that the dash temp reading was inaccurate and that everything was working correctly. They removed air from the system and topped off the antifreeze. They charged me the checkout fee and a bit extra for the antifreeze/air removal. Because of my planned trip I wanted a second opinion. I took it to a different shop and they told me the water pump needed to be replaced. I later looked at the old water pump and the impeller was completely eroded away.

Ive taken a few different vehicles to them over the last few years and have yet to take one back to re-fix any problems. The repairs have been pretty quick and the folks always friendly....especially the piano playing cat.....loves to be petted!! Ive been scammed before by shops but I dont worry here anymore......I was, of course, leary at first. Fortunately I know enough about cars myself to usually be able to tell when someone is pulling a fast one on me. I would have gone five stars but we did have one little glitch once.....but not worth the details. :^) So if you want to be confident in your vehicles repairs and in a shops honesty.....make an appointment at Wallys.

5 Stars is not enough. I had bought a used 1987 Honda and it was running bad. I took it to three other repair places before finding Wally & Son. i have lived in Portland for 14 years and I have plenty of experience with over a dozen repair shops and I can say this is the best one. They took alot of time and found the problem with my Honda and it runs very well now. Service and price of the repair were exceptional. Ladies, I would highly suggest you take your cars to this family owned shop, you can trust them to repair your vehicle.
