Shipped using flat rate two day shipping that comes with $50 insurance. The address on the package was for Idaho, I had a shipping receipt that had the Idaho zip code on it. The post office delivers it to somewhere in Hawaii!! HAWAII isnt even close to Idaho! So I open a case to get my money back and refunded for the cost of the item in the box (all together under $50) along with proof of zip code on box and they get back to me and say I do not qualify for a refund because it was technically delivered... except it wasnt to the CORRECT LOCATION! I am still in contact with that customer and she nor I have ever received that package. This happened over 6 months ago. I had shipped another flat rate 2 day shipping package and of course the do it yourself machines were broken so I had to go to the counter. A week after the package was supposed to arrive I check the tracking number and it had been bounced back and forth 5 times between two post office locations. No one was bright enough to go hmmm maybe I should pull my head out of my butt and see why it keeps getting sent back and forth. nope. I had to call and call and call till finally I found someone with a tiny bit of intelligence to track down the box to see what was wrong. The girl WHOS JOB IT IS TO PUT POSTAGE ON BOXES put the wrong zip code in! She typed in the zip code to the post office she works at! What an idiot!

WORST POST OFFICE ON EARTH - half of the staff are completely lacking in the most basic skills related to shipping packages. Their information regarding mailing options has proven time and again to be completely unreliable and incorrect. The staff act like a gang of patients in a mental hospital, never making eye contact, failing to ask pertinent questions, failing to answer direct questions, and generally acting like they cant be bothered with their customers. I now happily drive many miles out of my way to see the very courteous and knowledgeable staff of a branch in Winnetka, who know what theyre doing and do it well. The government license, if such a thing exists, for the Yolanda office should be revoked immediately. I would call them the Special Ed of U.S. Post Offices, except that would be an insult to persons with special needs, who deserve our compassion and understanding - the Yolanda staff deserves nothing but a flurry of pink slips.

VERY SLOW SERVICE, regardless of how many people are in line. Most of the employees have THICK foreign accents which are difficult to understand. Most of them never smile or say hello or seem to have any professionalism or manners. This used to be a great post office when I was growing up - its changed so much and not for the better. Oh, some have me fill out customs forms while others dont, and Ive also received different postage rates from different postal workers. They DESPERATELY need to be retrained, especially when so many people who would love to have their jobs are out of work! HOWEVER, the young black woman on the far right is TERRIFIC - she smiles, is friendly and seems to know her job (I think shes probably also the only American born so perhaps thats whats making the difference in how she treats customers).

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the Tarzana, Ca post office. I rented a post office box on Ventura blvd. The first letter that I had sent there was from an important client in Atlanta. After 6 days the letter still had not arrived. The gentleman at Mailboxes International informed me that the Tarzan Post Office made mistakes with mail all the time. He said he had 60 letters that were not even addressed to to that addressed to that address!!!!!!! I was horrified. So I called the Tarzan Post Office and spoke with the delivery supervisor. They were extremely rude. When I asked for the Postmaster of course they said she was on vacation. If you plan on having the tarzan post office delivery your mail i strongly urge you to reconsider. I am in the process of contacting the postmaster for the whole SFV area.

Im not sure if some of the other reviews are lost and reviewing a different location or what but this is my opinion of this location. The building has plenty of parking but it can be difficult leaving the parking lot cause it is close to a curve in the road and traffic is sometimes busy which is weird for a basically side street. Once inside it is clean and tidy. I use lots of shipping supplies and go there several times each week and they always are stocked. Not sure if they have pens on the counter or not as I always take my own. Overall if you can time it just right and avoid the lines then this place is as good as it gets for a U.S. Post Office.

I have been going here 1-2 times a year, when I absolutely had to ship with USPS and couldnt use Fedex or UPS, and promised myself I never return. This place has the most miserable, incompetent, arrogant, people I have ever seen. Their manager is useless, the facility is dirty and understocked (no shipping supplies, pens etc.) and every single time i went in there they were extremely rude, and when i complained the manager told me to go to another location if i dont like the service here! Way to represent the government...

A VERY nice woman named Shawn kindly and efficiently spent time and effort and found an almost lost parcel, just before it was going to be shipped back to the sender, over the phone no less. Thank you to the postal employees (particularly this one) who go the extra mile, and remember that we out here are people who want to get our mail. Thank you!

My wife was sure she left her purse on the countertop and called and the lady on the phone immediately said nobody had handed it in and hung up. She went there and a lovely lady (who clearly the phone lady hadnt checked with) had it! Good story that I thought was going to turn bad. Very happy wife. Thanks to that honest lady!

The waiting was not a problem, the weight, or meters not set accurately were the problem. One clerk had one weight/price quote, the second one quoted higher weight ...they both began to quabble about the meters. I am on vacation here so I am not a regular customer, another reflection of disgruntled employees in government jobs.

Just saw a piece on Headline News about a Tarzana, CA post office delivery of a ceramic drummer. Postal employee carelessly threw the package on bushes/walkway. Item shattered. Postal office denies wrongdoing--its caught on tape. Bad postmaster. Your deliverymen are out of control. You should be replaced.

I hate to do this but I could not understand what these guys were saying. They seemed like decent people but I literally did not know what they were saying most of the time both of the people at the desk couldnt speak good English .I ended up leaving and headed to the closest ups.
