There is no rating less than "poor" but there should be for the sorry state of this branch of the U.S. Post Office. It is Monday January 5, 2009. I entered a line at this post office branch at approximately 1:50 p.m. - there were about 12 people ahead of me in line. There are 7 (seven) clerical staff work stations at this post office serving a city with a population of well over 120,000 people. Each work station is equipped with computer, weighing and payment processing equipment. There were 2 postal persons at 2 stations and 1 clerk who was supposed to be handling "business" patrons. By approximately 2:20 pm, there were 12 customers in line behind me and 8 customers in line ahead of me. It was obvious that 21 customers were in line. There was no move on the part of any postal employee to summon additional clerks to handle the need for service. (our postal rates and tax funds DO pay for SERVICE... do they not?) A black woman with salt/pepper hair (do not know her name) [she later identified herself as a "supervisor"] came into the service area several times and could obviously see the problem and did absolutely nothing about it. The postal person, a short Asian gentleman, looked like he was staffing the "business" position... but he soon closed his position and spent the next 45 minutes walking around in and out of the service area... doing absolutely nothing about the need for increased customer service. The two positions at the end of the room were the only positions that remained staffed and at approximately 2:45 pm the clerk with Prince Charming-style long, shoulder-length brown hair - with a line of 20-25 customers waiting - closed his counter and disappeared into the back of the area - out of sight. The only clerk that remained on duty was a short Asian woman - and there was absolutely NO move to correct the situation! I asked to speak to a "supervisor" and the black woman appeared and when I asked if she was the supervisor, she said "no" but "she (the supervisor) is coming." About 5 minutes passed (still one clerk on duty) and the black woman reappeared - I asked her about the supervisor and now she tells me that "I am the supervisor." I asked her how could she could all of a sudden become the supervisor when she had told me 5 minutes ago that the supervisor was coming? She said she thought the supervisor was in the building. Somebody is telling stories! Finally, at about 2:55 pm, a very obviously put-upon Asian woman appeared and started to open one of the vacant clerical workstations. Meanwhile, the woman who declared that she was the supervisor stood in the back of the stations and when I asked her about more clerks, she said she was "working on it" and she also said that the "situation got out of hand." Finally at 3:05 pm I was waited on and as I left, I counted 27 customers in a line that stretched out the door and there were still only 2 (two) postal employees staffing 2 of the 7 workstations. I believe the main Thousand Oaks post office needs to clean house and get rid of lazy staff members and lazy, unconcerned supervisors! I use this branch quite often and this poor service and poor attitude is typical! This is absolutely inexcusable and unacceptable for the operation of a U.S. Post Office - customers pay the bills and customer service MUST be #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They delivered three of my packages to another house and after I opened the cases, the supervisor called me to say that he verified the packages were delivered at the right address and went ahead and closed the cases. I called their 800 number and had them reopen. The next day same supervisor called and try arguing with me again and I confirmed one of the packages was recovered but still missing two. He said he will look into it. Hours later Carlos Lopez left me a voicemail that he had confirmed with his carrier that my two other packages were delivered to the wrong street and were waiting to hear back from that person to give them back. However, I called back yesterday to do a follow up and someone took the message to give to Carlos but he never called back. Today I check the status of my cases and are closed again. I tried calling multiple times and they dont answer. This is the worst experience I had with the Postal Service. The carrier keeps delivering packages to the wrong street not only mine but my neighbors as well. The packages were delivered to the wrong address since Saturday last week. I just want my packages and the carrier or supervisor should be doing everything they can to recover and deliver to my house. Im so disappointed in how the management has handled my situation. They are horrible and their customer service representatives are not any better.

They NEVER answer the phone.....try it, after several attempts its almost laughable. Some are very nice there but there are some very rude and very unprofessional people working there, so if your inline and you end up at there window, watch out.... I have had one male actually, insult me and then insinuate that I could be sending drugs and he needed to open my package, even though I brought a sample of what the contents were and my postage was pre-paid as I was sending postcards in bulk. I cant imagine you can send much more than a post card for 18 cents.....on another occasion the SAME postal man told me to step aside and wait for a supervisor, never called the supervisor and went to lunch, after about 30 minutes of trying to wait patiently, I was told he went on a break. when he came back(yes I was still there) he told me that I needed to find a supervisor??? then proceeded to tell me to wait in line again.....unbelievable that government people are allowed to treat other humans in such a fowl manner, not to mention we contribute to there salaries....WOW

Was getting a package delivered as a Christmas gift that I ordered on December 12 and it came through here on its first stop. Unfortunately, it stayed here and never left until my third call asking about it. I called a few days before Christmas and got told that it wasnt there, even though it was marked as received at Westlake Village on their tracking site. Called again after the new year and after much trial and error finally spoke to a woman who, after 40 minutes took down my name and number and said shed "investigate" and let me know as soon as she found out what was going on. I never heard from her, and after finally checking this morning I noticed that my package has been miraculously updated and just left City of Industry, so hopefully itll be here this week. After sitting at this post office ignored for three weeks. A month after I ordered it. Hopefully I never have a package that comes through here again.

I recently went on vacation for 10 days and filed a hold at the T.O location. I came back and my mail was all stuffed in my mailbox which I could hardly get out! Went to the Post Office site to complain and they said my form was in a pile of miscellaneous "problems" with no explanation. The clerk couldnt explain what happened. That was in August/2010. I recently moved and put in a change of address online on 9/9/2010. I had to return to my address for other reasons on 9/19/2010 and my mailbox was full of mail! The change didnt go through and now I cant get in touch with the TO Post Office. I called the nation-wide general customer service # found online and they are now tracing what happened. In the meantime, my mail is STILL being delivered to my old address where another resident now lives. A lot of time and aggravation is spent when you follow the process of the Post Office. Very annoying!
