Property manager (Brie) was so extremely helpful and customer oriented. I was in a bind and needed a storage within hours, and she looked around (called me back in 20 mins) and found one that I was ok with, but it wasnt my first of choice. But as I got to the front desk she said a unit 1st floor was just vacated so I could move in immediately. That showed to me she really cared to remember my initial call/reservation about a particular type of unit I wanted. I like the facility too as I feel safe going alone in the evenings (Im a very petite woman) because of the video taping on the grounds. ***UPDATE*** I had a very traumatic weekend and I was scrambling to move out of a really bad roommate situation (I needed police escorts). Anyways, during the course of the weekend I showed up inside and was purchasing some more items for my move, and I broke down crying in front of Vlad and Brie...I was so embarrassed, but thankfully, Vlad was so kind..he made me laugh by offering me a piece of chocolate...and that calmed my nerves enough to at least talk to them of my dilemma of a roommate that wanted to physically do me harm but at the same time I was trying to get out as fast as I could as I couldnt deal with a meth addict any longer. Vlad told me that I could get police escorts and he also helped me find a moving company that could move me quick! That helped me feel like I was gaining control. I was in a really bad situation and if it werent for Vlad, I dont know what would have happened to me or all my possessions...so Vlad helped me out with just his basic information of the law and how to deal with a crazy meth addict roommate. So I think what is important to not only working the office of a Public Storage facility but also the knowledge of outside things like the chaos I had to deal with all weekend long. In a way it meant the world to me that someone was able to give me advice,

I object to the price increase for the unit less than 6 months into the deal . Paying my last rent for November and get the hell out of Public Storage for good.They are overpriced. They use extortion practices with their customers and they don`t deserve my business. I object to their charging for insurance, as I found out, it is not mandatory.I have been told it is mandatory at the La Cienega and Jefferson location.Why do we need to pay 8 or 9 extra dollars at these places ? I don`t keep gold or silver there ? This is a corporation that takes advantage of people in unfortunate circumstances. I guess this is nothing new in America. Brie was trying to take advantage of me when I first came to the location. She silently placed a lock into my hand when on the way to show my unit. Back at the office , without saying a word , shes attempted to charge me for that lock more than it is worth elsewhere, like at the U Hall.( I already had the locks from the old location) She tried to convince me that mine may not be up to the standard without even seeing them.She did not get away with it. Also, it`s taken me much time & energy to get Brie to repair the lighten my unit . Her overall niceness was insincere .There were other incidences with her which were unpleasant. I have also seen some unfair tactics used on other people while I was waiting. Such as Brie are good for the corporation , not for the people she serves.

While some may enjoy the process of moving, others dont necessarily find it to best the best past time. One aspect of moving that creates strife and anxiety is finding a safe, clean, and reliable storage facility. From the moment I entered, Brie acknowledged me at the door with a huge smile and a WELCOME. I knew from the beginning that there was a sense of hospitality that resonated with the facility, not just a business and customer relationship. Brie showed me multiple units and suggested other ideas that may be of convenience for me. This really developed the trust aspect I was looking for because she wasnt just trying to sell me the most expensive unit. I have used this facility twice and have always found it clean and safe. Having an employee like Brie who is constantly smiling and is warm, is truly a testament and compliment to the company. Unfortunately my time here is up, however, if I were ever to move back to the valley or need a storage unit for myself or others, I would highly recommend Van Nuys Public Storage! Ive never had to rent storage before, and I just moved to LA so showing up to the Public Storage on Oxnard Street just before they closed on Monday would have been stressful no matter what with my car having been packed explosive-style over a week. I admitted to being overwhelmed right off the bat, and despite that we had to make some quick arrangements in a short amount of time, I felt like MEGAN totally had my back. Megan and Valir stayed until 6:10 to make sure I rented the unit that wold work best for me, and Megan made sure I didnt spay too much for a month I didnt need, while making sure it would be affordable if I did need an additional month down the road. Mostly its just so great to have another nice woman on your side when you feel like most people spend their day trying to scam you. I was in a bit of a bind I wasnt comfortable with and Megan went out of her way to let me know she didnt want to steal my money. This facility renewed my faith in moving in general and if I ever have a storage need in the future, shell be my go-to lady. Thanks Megan!!!

Excellent location and easy to access. From the time you step in the front office, you notice that the employees try very hard to upkeep the property because the property is extremely clean. I have seen Fernando walk through the property several times during the times that Im accessing my unit and pickup things on the ground that others would not normally even notice. Talking of noticing things... you will notice their desire to provide every customer excellent service, and they treat EVERYONE very respectfully. This goes for all of the employees that I have dealt with, specifically Fernando and Aubrie. You feel as if you are at a high class 5 star hotel. Both Fernando and Aubrie have gone above and beyond the call of duty to provide convenience and be helpful both towards me and several of their other customers that Ive seen while there. No need to mention as Im sure that you get the idea, but they are very friendly as well. A+ + + + +

The staff is friendly but I stopped to use the restroom and it was horrible. They allow any homeless people off of the streets to use the bathroom and those homeless people destroy that restroom. I would imagine that the staff doesnt use the same restroom as their customers because if they did then that restroom wouldnt look the way it does. Everyone shouldnt be allowed to use the restroom clearly it shows that some people dont have respect for the rest of us. They also allow the homeless people to throw their food all in the bathroom everywhere, it looks like hell in there I kid you not. I couldnt make this up. if they want to solve this problem they will need to give certain customers that they know have respect the key to the restroom to lock it back when their done the way they do those flatbeds, pretty soon its going to get really bad and even more disgusting
