I have taken my Jeep here twice with success, and the third time did it. I knew what was wrong with my Jeep. The rear brake cylinders were leaking and the brake fluid probably soaked the pads which would mean I would need new ones. Priced that out while they kept my car overnight to diagnose it. It would be less than $60 for the parts at Advance Auto. They call me the next morning and tell me it will be $570-$585 for parts and labor. I ask for an itemized price. They dont do that. I ask what the hourly rate is. They charge by the job, not hourly. I ask why it costs so much. The cleanup job and the brakes are drum brakes which are complicated. Clean up, you mean, spraying brake cleaner and wiping them off. Complicated? There are tools for making drum brakes easier. Performance doesnt have tools that I know are made for making dealing with drum brakes easier? They dont deal with drum brakes all the time? I ask what the diagnostic fee is and he has to call the boss. Weird, the dealership charges $60 for that and can tell me over the phone without calling the big man. Okay. I call Tildens brake shop in Golden, $280 for parts and labor. Thats $300 cheaper. Performance calls back and its going to be $80 for the diagnostic fee. They took off the tire and the outside of the brake drum, then put it back together. Probably took 30-45 minutes. I got a friend to come get it and I bought the parts and paid him to do the job for me. I feel as though performance might have been trying to take advantage of me because Im a female and probably dont know all that much about cars. SUCH a RIPOFF. I will not be going back there.

Wow. These people were the friendliest, most helpful mechanics Ive ever met. I moved here from Arizona a few months ago, and when my car started to shudder while braking on a decline, I knew I had a problem. I went to four separate auto repair places in the Denver area, where I live. All of them found about 7 OTHER things wrong with my car, most of which had nothing to do with the brakes. Then they tried to overcharge me to fix "problems" I didnt even realize were there. They saw that I was a woman and knew I didnt have a clue about cars, and they thought they could get away with it. When I took my car into Performance Plus, I was using it as an excuse to visit Golden. Their shop is very close to the downtown area, so while they fixed my brakes, I went shopping! It was wonderful. The men at Performance Plus were honest and reliable. They gave me all kinds of awesome tourist suggestions about Golden. Then they told me flat-up what was wrong with my car--I needed brake pads and machined rotors. They quoted me a very fair price (several hundred dollars LESS than those other shops), and it only took an hour to fix! They even topped off my antifreeze for free, which was ridiculously nice of them. Overall, the professionalism I encountered here was incredible. They were honest, fairly priced, and fast. My car runs perfectly now, and I know Ill be back to Performance Plus the next time I have issues. Its such a relief to have a reliable mechanic in Colorado! Thank you, Performance Plus! :D

Friendly but incompetent. I took my truck in for a couple of separate issues, the first of which was to have the rear breaks looked at due to a noise. They replaced the rear brake shoes but forgot to bleed the brakes, rendering the car unsafe to drive and requiring me to bring it back in immediately so they could bleed the brakes. The second issue was that my car was leaking coolant and leaving visible puddles on the ground. They told me that they had fixed the leak which was false as it continued to leak. The "leak" was actually due to a blown head gasket, which was later diagnosed by another mechanic. Furthermore, they told me the front brakes were "thin thin thin" and pushed me to have them changed. I declined because I was comfortable with doing the front brake pads on my own. When I did the front brake pads I discovered that they werent even at the wear bars and actually had about 40% life left.

June 5. Too bad this is not an honest business. My daughter brought her Ford Focus in with an "electrical issue" It would not start but the battery was fine. They charged her $200 to "FIX" it. Two days later same problem. Her friend looked at it and discovered it was a fuse. They replaced the fuse. Great! Two days later, same problem. Fuse blew. Source of problem? Starter? Ignition? It turned out to be a short cause by a loose wire near the starter motor. Two zip strips later problem solved by her friend. We called Performance and told them this story. They told my husband they would refund $100. What did they do for $200 besides replace a fuse? "Diagnosing" they said. No refund has been issued to date.

I want to thank Perfermance Plus Car Care for helping us out on such a short notice. We had driven from Houston TX when half way to Golden my sons F150 truck ran into issues. I was helping my son move for school and was flying out in a few days. When we took the truck in, we knew it was going to be an extensive job that required days to a week of work. I was very nervous about leaving him with no vehicle and without being able to test drive it myself. The owner knew how worried I was and expedited the job. To our surprise it was finished much sooner than expected. Thank you for all your help!

I would recommend somewhere else, they wont wait when I run short on cash which they told me the estimate then 2 days later they called t come in, after I came in the old the price and car was ready after replacing parts hen I asked them the final total cost but it was 32 bucks more than estimate they told me if I dont get $32 today then the will pull out parts. What a joke. stay away from this shop. I use services from this location since it was "jackson street station" will full services for gas, convenient store and mechanic shop now I am done with them

Went in to get 1 axle seal replaced. They kept pushing for further repairs. I told them to only replace one and they replaced both of the rear. The guy on the phone said they replaced both of my brake pads, I mentioned none of that. The only thing you need to know about this shop is that they charge $250 per brake pad replacement. Those things cost $25 max and take 30 min to replace. I would give them only one star but this whole industry are full of people that are looking to put one past you.

I tried to get a rough estimate for motor and tranny mounts on my Subaru and was told I would get a call back because they were "too busy" to look into it immediately. I got no call that day, I called back the next day and was again told they would call me back, no call back. I again tried to get a quote again 2 weeks later. No call back. The only reason I really wanted to go to this shop is I work nearby. Apparently they are so busy they dont need my business.
